Lotte Arai

Start at Village Station and plan your return before heading towards Roppongi and Zendana. Lotte Arai’s managed courses have a separate scope from its avalanche terrain and freeriding zones; use the independent alpine map, check the signed open connections and confirm the last descent with staff.

Colours show the published skiing status or confirmed operating calendar, not whether every lift is running. Check the operator before travel.

Confirmed dates change colours automatically in the place’s local time. Tentative dates, conflicting reports and expired checks remain black.

Unconfirmed: the operator map page is linked separately, but a current artwork edition and lawful inline preview have not been verified; no operator artwork is reproduced in this guide. Scoped community centre lines cover the operator-listed beginner/intermediate courses and five passenger lift alignments around Village, Roppongi and Zendana. Legendary, Exciter, Discovery, Mamushigaeshi, all freeriding zones and unidentified geometry are omitted; technical, private, proposed, disused and backcountry features are excluded. Pony and other small facilities may be absent. Generic difficulty stays grey; way segments are not the resort inventory. No current opening, access, safe connection, download or navigation is guaranteed. The snapshot clock is the canonical OSM API HTTP response Date, not an Overpass replication timestamp.

HOW THE AREA CONNECTS

Understand the sectors.

01

Village and Sanroku

Access: Day-visitor P1 and Village Station are the lower starting references.

Pony, Sunrise and Umanose are operator-listed names; use signed open courses and confirm the return.

02

Roppongi and Zendana

Access: Arai Gondola and the two upper passenger lifts provide distinct boarding references.

The higher courses and return connections need a daily check; avalanche terrain and freeriding zones are excluded.

01

Start at Village Station

The operator directs day visitors to P1 and Village Station users to P1/P2. Rental and the English school are listed on Village Station’s first floor. Confirm the exact parking, meeting point and signed lift entrance before going up.

02

Keep the managed return separate from freeriding

The operator describes Village Road between Roppongi and Village stations; the upper course group has separate Kokenashi and Zendana lift references. Use only signed open managed connections. Avalanche terrain and freeriding zones are outside this guide and map.

03

Confirm the final descent and onward transport

Unconfirmed: each lift’s last boarding, download permission and the complete final return to Village Station are not established. Ask staff before heading higher and arrange a suitable alternative. The hotel shuttle is guest-only; its displayed table does not establish a dated 2026/27 return.

Managed courses below Okenashi, with separate avalanche terrain

Lotte Arai is an alpine resort at Ryozenji in Myoko, Niigata. This guide covers its managed beginner and intermediate courses. The operator also markets ungroomed avalanche terrain and freeriding zones; these have different hazards and are outside this map and guide’s skiing scope. A resort ticket does not make closed terrain or a boundary crossing permissible.

The operator lists Myoko Long Run, Roppongi Road, Village Road, Sunrise and Pony in its beginner category, and Encore, Be Free, Bear Valley, Tategami and Umanose as intermediate. Bear Valley and Umanose include harder sections. These are local categories, not a universal colour conversion or a promise of easy passage; follow the actual signs and ask staff about your ability and return.

Historical: the map landing page retains a 2025/26 season, mixed-year subperiods and an advertised 14-course inventory that includes four avalanche-terrain courses. Legendary, Exciter, Discovery and Mamushigaeshi, all freeriding zones and an unidentified community line are omitted from our map. Unconfirmed: a complete current piste inventory, grooming and the availability of every connection have not been established. Community way segments are not a count of resort pistes.

Village base, middle station and upper lifts

The operator names Arai Gondola, Sanroku 1st and 2nd lifts, Kokenashi Lift and Zendana Lift. Village Station is the lower arrival reference; Roppongi is the intermediate gondola reference and Zendana the upper-area reference. The course description identifies Village Road as the route between Roppongi and Village stations. Confirm that the signed return is open and suitable before heading higher.

The economy ticket page allows boarding from 08:30, with afternoon tickets valid from 11:00; First Class advertises an 08:00 start and priority gates at the gondola and two upper lifts. Weather can delay boarding. These product descriptions do not confirm a particular operating day, open lift or guaranteed early access.

The operator plans to open winter 2026/27 on 12 December 2026. Unconfirmed: current public skiing, the final season date, daily lift availability and the complete return are not established; the operational rows remain dated 10 May 2026. Confirm each lift’s final boarding, download permission and the last complete return to Village Station with staff before heading higher.

Use the day-visitor base and verify both journeys

The official address is 1966 Ryozenji, Myoko City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan. Its access page directs day visitors to P1 and Village Station users to P1/P2. ARAI hotel guests and LODGE guests have different parking instructions. Use the day’s signs and confirm winter road conditions and your exact lesson meeting point before unloading.

The operator’s complimentary Joetsumyoko Station shuttle uses the west entrance and is restricted to guests staying in the hotel facilities. It requires a reservation by 07:00 on the travel day. Its two resort stops serve the ARAI and LODGE buildings separately. Day skiers must not assume that this hotel shuttle is available to them.

Unconfirmed: the displayed shuttle table has no accepted 2026/27 validity period here; date-specific departures, the final return, a day-visitor alternative and accessible vehicle/boarding arrangements need direct confirmation. The operator prohibits boarding in hard ski or snowboard boots and asks for protective equipment cases. Road delays can break rail connections, so reserve both directions with a suitable margin.

Match the class, age and lift scope

The Economy peak-season table checked on 7 November 2026 is labelled 12 December 2026–21 March 2027. It lists one day at JPY 7,777 for ages 19–49, JPY 7,300 for ages 50 and over, and JPY 5,555 for ages 7–18. The adult Sanroku-only product is JPY 5,500 and covers the two Sanroku lifts; it is not the full-area ticket. Confirm the actual date, category and payable total before purchase.

Children aged six and under still need a free ticket issued at the counter, with the child present. The operator requires age identification for the 50-plus category. First Class is a separate, quantity-limited early/priority product; it is not permission to enter a closed course or freeriding gate.

Unconfirmed: the tariff’s future validity dates do not independently establish the winter opening or closing date, evening sessions or actual skiing availability. Historical: the map page’s old-season hours and inconsistent year labels are not a current timetable. The published refund policy is restrictive: suspension of every lift all day and an unused ticket bought that day are distinct from personal cancellation or partial operation. Read the current terms before paying.

Respect gates, ropes and the managed-area boundary

The Arai rules prohibit crossing ropes and entering closed or prohibited areas. Use designated gates and follow patrol instructions, signs, weather and snow conditions. The safety page describes terrain outside the ski-area boundary as off limits, without avalanche control and with difficult return terrain. This guide provides no backcountry access, freeriding itinerary or assurance of rescue outside the managed area.

The operator describes patrol, grooming and remote avalanche-control work. Their presence does not make an ungroomed slope or closed sector safe. Stay clear of machinery and closures, control speed, allow room when overtaking and stop where other skiers can see you. Wear appropriate protective equipment and obtain local instruction when the return exceeds your ability.

The equipment page requires ski brakes or the stated retention device for the relevant equipment; unusual equipment has separate restrictions. Ask the information desk or patrol before using it. The published patrol number is +81-255-75-1165; Japan’s ambulance/fire emergency number is 119 and police is 110. Unconfirmed: adaptive equipment permission does not establish accessible lifts, transfers or a complete assisted evacuation plan; arrange your exact needs in advance.

Village Station services and dated rental limitations

Myoko Snowsports is listed on Village Station’s first floor, with English instruction, private lessons and children’s group programmes. Its listing gives 08:00–17:00 and recommends advance booking. Confirm the actual winter date, age group, instructor meeting point and return arrangements; a general service listing is not a reservation.

SALOMON STATION is also listed on Village Station’s first floor, with skis, snowboards, boots, clothing, helmets and paid storage/tuning services. Historical: its currently displayed opening dates and hours refer to 2025/26. Unconfirmed: the 2026/27 rental timetable, current prices, stock and equipment-return deadline have not been established. Reserve the required size and ask staff to adjust rented equipment; the operator tells users not to make their own adjustments.

The resort lists restaurants and hotel facilities separately from ski access. General enquiries use +81-255-75-1100; the mountain ticket/information centre is +81-255-75-1177 and SALOMON STATION lists +81-255-75-1175. Unconfirmed: a step-free route from parking or shuttle to the lesson, rental and lift boarding points is not established; confirm it directly for your party before booking.
