Unknown / uncertain
Colours show the published skiing status or confirmed operating calendar, not whether every lift is running. Check the operator before travel.
Confirmed dates change colours automatically in the place’s local time. Tentative dates, conflicting reports and expired checks remain black.
Independent ODbL community geometry covers named managed downhill corridors and passenger alignments from Alpendorf/Gernkogel through Sonntagskogel and Grafenberg to Flying Mozart, Rote 8er, Grießenkar and Flachau. Separate Hahnbaum, Shuttleberg and Zauchensee, the Panorama Link beyond this managed scope, unnamed or unresolved ways, the fenced Starjet segment and tagged backcountry terrain are excluded. The new Grafenbergbahn sections and altered Grafenberg learner carriers have uncertain community footprints and are omitted; no replacement is drawn. Flying Mozart I retains its community alignment without verified pylon positions. Community names and segmented ways are not a reconciled operator inventory. Generic difficulty remains grey without a confirmed literal local colour. The conservative snapshot is the earliest original canonical OSM API tile HTTP response Date, not an Overpass replication timestamp. Unconfirmed: the official piste-map landing page is accessible, but its artwork edition, comparison with the new Grafenbergbahn and remote-preview or reproduction rights are not established; operator artwork is omitted. Geometry never establishes current skiing, access permission, grooming, avalanche safety, navigation or a complete return.
Access: Achterjet, Spacejet and Starjet are separate valley approaches; agree the actual lesson or rental base first.
Named managed descents and learner areas sit on the Flachau side. The wider linked region and its headline kilometres are outside this guide’s inventory.
02
Wagrain: Flying Mozart / Rote 8er / Grafenberg
Access: Flying Mozart and Rote 8er serve the Grießenkar side; G-LINK is the cross-valley decision towards Grafenberg. The new Grafenbergbahn is announced for winter 2026/27.
The operator describes the new gondola replacing the old Grafenbergbahn and both Grafenberg Express lifts. Community replacement footprints are not verified or drawn.
03
St. Johann-Alpendorf / Gernkogel / Sonntagskogel
Access: Alpendorf Gondola and Gernkogelbahn are distinct bases. The operator links the upper area via Sonntagskogel and Hachau towards Wagrain.
Match ability, open lifts and every return connection. The separate Hahnbaum village area and neighbouring Shuttleberg/Zauchensee are omitted from the independent geometry.
01
Start: choose one valley base
Match your lesson and equipment to Flachau’s Achterjet/Spacejet/Starjet, Wagrain’s Flying Mozart/Rote 8er/Grafenberg or St. Johann-Alpendorf. A village name and a regional pass do not identify your meeting point.
02
Connect: check G-LINK before crossing Wagrain
G-LINK joins the Grafenberg and Flying Mozart/Grießenkar sides when operating. Panorama Link continues to separate Shuttleberg; Zauchensee requires further connections. This guide does not promise the wider circuit or its return.
03
Return: agree every last connection before boarding
Unconfirmed: final skier boarding and a complete cross-valley return are not established. Obtain the day’s G-LINK, sector, download and onward bus limits from staff; allow for queues and turn back before any necessary connection closes.
Choose your starting valley and final return before boarding. This guide covers the managed Snow Space area; connected Shuttleberg and Zauchensee remain separate, and the announced late-November start is a weather-dependent plan.
Several valley bases with different return journeys
G-LINK between the Wagrain mountains, subject to operation
Independent managed-area map with uncertain new lift footprints omitted
Keep the managed area separate from the wider linked region
The guide covers Flachau/Grießenkar, Wagrain’s Flying Mozart, Rote 8er and Grafenberg mountains, and St. Johann-Alpendorf around Gernkogel and Sonntagskogel. Blue, red and black are local signed ability grades. Ask the school to choose a suitable open learner area rather than assuming that a cross-valley route suits a beginner.
The named report includes the Hermann Maier World Cup descent, Flying Mozart valley descent, Rote 8er descents, Hachau and Sonntagskogel corridors. These are identity references, not a promise of current opening. Unconfirmed: current public skiing, the complete open managed inventory and a suitable continuous descent to every base are not established.
Conflicting sources: the day-ticket page advertises 210 km and 69 lifts, while the connection page advertises 210 km and 70 lifts across Snow Space, Shuttleberg and Zauchensee. Neither is a reconciled inventory of this managed guide. Community way segments, old piste references and the separate Hahnbaum area are not counted as that inventory. Freeride, touring routes and park features are outside the independent downhill geometry.
Treat the new Grafenbergbahn and future timetable carefully
Flachau has distinct Achterjet, Spacejet and Starjet approaches; Wagrain has Flying Mozart and Rote 8er on the Grießenkar side, with G-LINK towards Grafenberg. Alpendorf Gondola and Gernkogelbahn serve separate valley entries. The upper Sonntagskogel/Hachau connections must be open for a continuous ski journey.
The operator announces the new ten-person Grafenbergbahn for winter 2026/27, replacing the old gondola and both Grafenberg Express lifts, with a middle-station connection towards G-LINK. Historical: the 12 PEAKS suggested sequence still names Grafenberg-Express 2. It is not used as a verified 2026/27 lift-by-lift return. Unconfirmed: commissioning, exact new footprints and a complete replacement-era circuit are not established.
The expected season starts on 28 November 2026, the wider 12 PEAKS connection is expected on 5 December, and the listed final day is 4 April 2027. Snow and weather govern actual service. Conflicting sources: the English hours page gives 1 February 2026 for the 16:15 extension, while the German page and English lift report give 1 February 2027. Ordinary hours are listed as 08:30–16:00; confirm the day and each lift rather than silently repairing the inconsistent page.
From 8 January 2027 the plan names Alpendorf, Achterjet and Grafenberg for an 08:00 Early Bird start, with their desks at 07:45. Unconfirmed: final skier boarding, downloading, the complete G-LINK return and the last onward transport are not established. A last control run, later desk closing or depot access is not a guaranteed passenger return.
Choose the actual valley station before arranging transport
The operator identifies motorway access, valley-station parking and St. Johann im Pongau’s long-distance railway station. Its onward ski-bus offer serves Alpendorf; Flachau and Wagrain require their own correct connections. Check the dated journey to your selected station, equipment collection and lesson meeting point before departure.
The Salzburg public-transport offer requires both an eligible ski-ticket purchase and a separate downloaded transport ticket. A ski pass alone is not the travel document. Confirm the eligible product, lines, date and any regional boundary before travelling; the general arrival page does not guarantee every service or seat.
The ski-bus page offers village/date selection and separate main-season/post-season downloads. Unconfirmed: an inspected final 2026/27 bus timetable, last bus back to your accommodation, parking charges/spaces, chain requirements for your actual journey and continuous step-free transfers are not established. Check the transport provider and road conditions; do not use an old seasonal PDF or a general rail-shuttle promise as a dated return guarantee.
Read the date, age category and exact pass territory
The 2026/27 day-ticket table separates Start & Finale, through 18 December and from 27 March, from the main period of 19 December–26 March. Adult one-day desk prices are listed as EUR 75.50 and EUR 81 respectively; online prices start at EUR 64.50 and EUR 69 and vary with advance purchase. These are checked published prices, not a live quote or assurance of available skiing.
Adults are born in 2007 or earlier, youths in 2008–2010 and children in 2011–2020. The page lists a EUR 3 keycard deposit and requires proof of birth year. One-day-or-shorter tickets cover the named linked local areas; passes from two days cover Ski amadé. Confirm the exact product and open transport before crossing an operator boundary.
The operator’s free mini ticket for children born in 2021 or later requires a photo/ID and collection at a Snow Space desk. It explicitly excludes Shuttleberg beyond Panorama Link, where different child transport terms apply. Lessons, hire, ski depots, rescue cover and transport eligibility have separate conditions. Unconfirmed: the final checkout price, personal eligibility, refunds for your specific product and included rescue or assistance are not established.
Respect night closures, winch cables and the final return
Follow the operator’s FIS conduct rules: control speed and distance, give downhill users room, check before entering or restarting, stop where visible, obey signs and assist after an accident. Stay on managed pistes actually opened by staff. Mountain weather, ice and limited visibility can change the safe choice; community geometry is a planning reference rather than navigation.
The published regional closures differ: Flachau/Grießenkar 18:00–08:00; Wagrain 17:00–08:00; St. Johann generally 17:00–08:00, with its named Gernkogelalm valley-descent exception 19:00–08:30. Winch cables and preparation work make entry dangerous. These closure exceptions do not establish a public night-skiing offer or permission on another route.
Touring is allowed only on designated authorised ascent routes under their own ticket, time and closure rules; general piste touring is prohibited. Historical: the touring page retains a separate ALL-IN validity period ending 3 May 2026. It is not accepted as 2026/27 permission. The same page warns that the separate monte popolo area lacks a functioning rescue chain; that area is outside this guide.
Tell patrol or lift staff the exact piste or installation and location in an accident, protect the scene and follow their directions. The operator describes on-call patrol during piste opening hours. Unconfirmed: a specific medical facility, individual rescue response, insurance, accessible evacuation and a complete safe return are not established. Confirm arrangements before travelling and leave enough time for every necessary connection.
Book village-specific help and separate it from ski opening
The operator’s school and rental directories distinguish Flachau, Wagrain and St. Johann-Alpendorf. Arrange lessons, correct equipment, fitting, collection and final return at the same practical base. A directory listing is not a reservation, available stock or a current opening guarantee.
Valley-station ski depots have separate access and prices. Flying Mozart’s listed depot access is 06:00–21:00; this does not extend ski or lift hours. The operator also lists mountain restaurants and station toilets, whose actual seasonal service must be checked. Unconfirmed: final rental/restaurant/toilet hours, individual adaptive equipment and continuous assistance between stations are not established.
For mountain-railway enquiries the operator lists +43 59221 and its Wagrain contact at Markt 59, 5602 Wagrain. Confirm the intended base, assistance, boarding and evacuation needs before payment. Plans for level access at the new Grafenbergbahn do not establish a completed accessible journey across all three mountains; ask about each transfer and the final return.
Selected source-checked references only. Use the complete official plan for the network; this list is not the resort’s total piste count or live opening report.
04 / AT THE BASE
Facilities that change the day.
Operator directories list schools and rental providers separately in all three villages; book the correct base and equipment. Ski depots are offered at valley stations; the Flying Mozart depot has its own access hours, separate from skiing. Individual accessible boarding, transfer continuity, evacuation and medical provision need advance confirmation.
