Colours show the published skiing status or confirmed operating calendar, not whether every lift is running. Check the operator before travel.
Confirmed dates change colours automatically in the place’s local time. Tentative dates, conflicting reports and expired checks remain black.
Independent ODbL community geometry covers the reviewed Wiedersberger Horn–Inneralpbach–Schatzberg network, separate Reither Kogel and Niederau/Markbachjoch terrain, and mapped practice areas. Kelchsau, Baumgarten/Thierbach ski routes, freeride/backcountry/extreme lines, goods/private/disused/proposed infrastructure and unidentified passenger lifts are excluded. Small practice-area completeness and present operator inventory are not claimed. Area outlines are not descent routes; way segments are not piste counts. Generic OSM grades stay grey without a literal verified colour. Original canonical OSM API tile HTTP dates provide the conservative snapshot, not an Overpass replication timestamp. Unconfirmed: the operator winter-map landing page is verified, but current artwork edition, complete native rendering and remote-preview or reproduction rights are unverified; no operator map artwork is copied or embedded. The map and historical summer photograph establish no current skiing, safe route, access permission or complete return.
Access: Use Wiedersbergerhornbahn at Alpbach, Pöglbahn at Inneralpbach, or Schatzbergbahn at Auffach. The winter-only connecting gondola links Inneralpbach with Schatzberg.
The principal linked managed alpine sectors include learning terrain and more demanding pistes; confirm the actual daily links before crossing valleys.
02
Reither Kogel and Markbachjoch/Lanerköpfl
Access: Use Reitherkogelbahn in Reith or Markbachjochbahn/Lanerköpflbahn in Niederau; these are distinct starts rather than an assumed continuous ski circuit.
Reith includes learning and scheduled floodlit activities; Niederau has its own managed slopes. Small practice areas have separate operating arrangements.
01
Starting base: choose your mountain and valley
Wiedersbergerhornbahn starts at Alpbach 311, Pöglbahn at Inneralpbach, and Schatzbergbahn at Auffach. Reith and Niederau have distinct starts. The arrival pin represents only the Alpbach approach; confirm the correct base before travelling.
02
Connections: Inneralpbach towards Schatzberg
The connecting gondola operates in winter only. Conflicting sources: the summary says mid-December, its detail gives 11 December and the ascent-ticket heading starts 4 December. Confirm its actual availability; do not infer a continuous circuit to Reith or Niederau.
03
Return: plan every boarding and onward transfer
Wiedersbergerhornbahn and Schatzbergbahn list last descent 16:30, Pöglbahn 16:15, the connection 16:45 and Reitherkogelbahn 16:15. Unconfirmed: these individual references do not establish the complete cross-valley return or final bus. Confirm both before committing to a crossing.
Choose the correct valley base for Wiedersberger Horn, Schatzberg, Reither Kogel or Markbachjoch. The operator plans staged December 2026 starts; summer cableway operation does not establish current skiing.
Four mountain sectors with distinct valley bases
Planned staged December starts with visible source differences
Independent licensed map and complete-return planning
Four mountains and the limits of the connected area
Wiedersberger Horn above Alpbach and Schatzberg above Auffach are the principal linked alpine sectors. The winter-only eight-person connecting gondola runs from Inneralpbach towards Schatzberg. Reither Kogel at Reith and Markbachjoch/Lanerköpfl at Niederau have their own valley starts; a shared pass does not make them a continuous lift-served ski circuit. Oberau, Roggenboden and other practice facilities require separate day-specific checks.
The published plan starts Wiedersberger Horn/Pöglbahn and Schatzberg on 4 December 2026, with those main seasons to 4 April 2027. Niederau is planned for 18 December–29 March, and Oberau/Roggenboden from 18 December to about mid-March. Unconfirmed: all these starts depend on snow, weather and actual release. Conflicting sources: Reither Kogel is mid-December to mid-March in the season summary, while the ascent-ticket heading gives 19 December–7 March. Historical: a retained Wiedersbergerhornbahn “weekend” on 29/30 November 2026 conflicts with the actual Sunday/Monday dates and is not accepted as extra November skiing.
Conflicting sources: the lifts-and-pistes page advertises 114 km including 16 km of ski routes and describes 42 lifts, while its live counter uses 45 and other operator pages retain 113 km and 45 lifts. These are different published summaries, not a reconciled piste inventory. No complete named route count is claimed. The independent map contains community way segments and area outlines, which must never be read as the operator’s piste count.
The operator uses blue for easy, red for intermediate and black for difficult managed pistes. Orange square Skiroute signs identify routes that the operator says are neither prepared nor controlled by the piste service. Those routes, freeride, touring and neighbouring Kelchsau are outside this managed-piste map. Generic OSM difficulty stays grey unless a literal local colour is recorded; the photograph and geometry prove no current opening.
The operator identifies Wiedersbergerhornbahn as a six-person gondola from Alpbach and Pöglbahn as the Inneralpbach approach to Wiedersberger Horn. Schatzbergbahn starts at Auffach, and the winter-only connecting gondola climbs from Inneralpbach towards Schatzberg. Reitherkogelbahn and Markbachjochbahn serve their own areas; chair and surface lifts complete the mountain networks. Check the exact named lift and piste before leaving your chosen base.
The published winter table gives first ascents at 08:30 for the main gondolas. Last ascent/descent references are 16:00/16:30 for Wiedersbergerhornbahn and Schatzbergbahn, 16:15/16:15 for Pöglbahn, 16:30/16:45 for the connecting gondola, 16:00/16:15 for Reitherkogelbahn and 16:30/16:30 for Markbachjochbahn. Other Niederau lifts and Oberau are listed from 09:00 to 16:30; Roggenboden from 08:00 to 16:00. These are individual published limits, not permission to start a long return at closing time.
Conflicting sources: the connection summary says mid-December, the detail page gives 11 December 2026–4 April 2027, and the ascent-ticket heading begins 4 December. Treat the actual connection start as unresolved. Unconfirmed: the complete cross-valley return, all intermediate last boardings and final onward bus are not established. Ask staff early and allow a margin; neither a closed piste nor an unconfirmed transfer is a fallback.
The operator lists Wiedersbergerhornbahn at Alpbach 311 and Pöglbahn at Alpbach 698 in Inneralpbach. Reitherkogelbahn is at Dorf 34, Reith im Alpbachtal; Schatzbergbahn at Dorf, Auffach 273; Markbachjochbahn at Dorfstraße, Niederau 91. The location pin represents the Wiedersbergerhornbahn approach only. Confirm the actual meeting point with your school, rental shop or transport provider rather than using the resort name as a single destination.
Train approaches use Brixlegg, Wörgl or Jenbach with the relevant regional bus. By road the operator directs Alpbachtal traffic via the Kramsach motorway exit and Wildschönau traffic via Wörgl. Check current road conditions and your specific bus connection separately. Unconfirmed: a complete 2026/27 winter ski-bus timetable, the final return service, winter parking charges and accessible vehicle-to-ski transfers are not established.
Conflicting sources: the local-transport page describes free bus use with regional guest cards, while the tariff terms say ski-bus rules differ by area and provide no free inter-region ski-bus service. Verify the precise route, card and fare before relying on a transfer between valleys. Charging points are listed at Markbachjochbahn, Schatzbergbahn, Wiedersbergerhornbahn and Pöglbahn; their availability does not reserve parking or promise a charging place.
The operator’s hourly/day table lists pre-season 4–18 December 2026, peak season 19 December–12 March 2027 and late season 13 March–4 April. The adult one-day reference is €64.50 in the pre/late bands and €71.50 in peak season; three hours are €49.50 and €54.50 respectively. These published references are not a guaranteed future checkout price or a promise that all sectors are open. Check your actual date and ticket product before paying.
Hourly and multiday passes, point cards, single ascents/descents, season passes and night tickets are distinct products. The terms describe a €2 KeyCard deposit, with no deposit for passes of up to two days. Night transport normally requires its separate tariff. The Reith night page lists Thursdays/Fridays 18:30–21:15 from 25 December 2026 to 5 March 2027; check the exact evening’s operation and product instead of extending a day pass by assumption.
Unconfirmed: the applicable child/youth eligibility for every chosen product, current online price, rental/lesson extras, mobility arrangements and disruption/refund entitlement in an individual case are not established here. The operator’s terms allow weather/snow/technical restrictions and limit refunds; read the actual purchase conditions. A season-pass validity date, family promotion or ascent-ticket heading never proves that a ski connection is operating.
Use only signed open pistes within your ability and obey closures and staff instructions. The operator’s local blue/red/black signs remain authoritative on the hill; this community map is a planning reference with no live grooming, snow, patrol or navigation guarantee. The operator distinguishes orange ski routes from prepared controlled pistes and says they require sufficient alpine experience or a ski instructor. They are omitted from this alpine map rather than promoted as a safe return.
The operator explicitly warns of life-threatening winch grooming after the authorised touring periods and permits ascent/descent only on the marked route. Reith’s published Tuesday touring window is 29 December 2026–2 March 2027, 18:30–21:00, with no lifts operating. Historical: the Wildschönau touring entries still give January–March 2026 dates; they are not permission for winter 2026/27. Do not generalise one evening’s exception to other pistes, mountains or dates.
Unconfirmed: current snow stability, individual route releases, patrol coverage, rescue response and charges, adaptive-ski assistance and the complete safe final return are not established. Obtain day-specific advice from the relevant operator and local ski school; arrange appropriate insurance and assistance. Future opening plans and an operating summer gondola establish neither permission to ski nor a safe descent.
Book equipment and assistance with the correct local team
The operator lists ski and snowboard schools for children and adults, including learning areas such as Juppi Do and Schatzberg Zwergenland. Equipment rental is offered in village centres and at selected mountain stations. Reserve the required sizes, equipment and lesson programme directly with the chosen provider before travel; neither a directory listing nor a resort pass establishes availability or includes instruction.
Mountain huts and village restaurants have their own opening days, access and last service. Do not use a hut’s opening label as evidence that the surrounding ski sector or return connection is available. Unconfirmed: actual restaurant hours, lesson/rental prices, accessible toilets, equipment storage and individual mobility assistance are not established. Agree the complete assisted journey with the valley company before buying or ascending.
The shared information address is info@skijuwel.com. The operator lists Alpbachtal cableways on +43 5336 5233 and info@alpbacher-bergbahnen.at, and Wildschönau cableways on +43 5339 5353 and buero@schatzbergbahn.at. These are information contacts, not an independently verified emergency or patrol-dispatch service. State your exact mountain, valley base, date and return requirements when asking for operational advice.
Selected source-checked references only. Use the complete official plan for the network; this list is not the resort’s total piste count or live opening report.
