092MAPS / UNDERSTAND THE AREA
Explore the independent community map and practical starting bases. Read the coverage limits and check current opening and access with the operator.
Colours show the published skiing status or confirmed operating calendar, not whether every lift is running. Check the operator before travel.
Confirmed dates change colours automatically in the place’s local time. Tentative dates, conflicting reports and expired checks remain black.
Unconfirmed: a current legally usable official winter plan is not established; the linked operator site previously returned HTTP 401, and operator artwork and previews are omitted. The independently licensed OSM map covers inspected lower-area piste and passenger alignments. Savin Kuk II, upper black Vukova terrain, plan-derived Korito geometry and an explicitly unverified connector are excluded; no missing connection is reconstructed. Tourism grades remain selected source references only; all community piste geometry stays grey because operator-grade matching is unverified, including the Dernek/Derneci alias. Community alignments do not establish current authorisation, skiing, grooming, a complete return or navigation. The snapshot date is the canonical OSM API HTTP response Date, not an Overpass replication timestamp.
HOW THE AREA CONNECTS
Access: Community-mapped surface-lift alignments; current authority and operation require checks.
Snowboard retains its exact local blue reference; the Dernek/Derneci alias and unnamed geometry remain unconfirmed.
Access: Historical reopening after technical inspection; no current approval or complete return inferred.
Community chair alignment retained for geographic context; plan-derived Korito descent omitted.
Access: Excluded from our independent map and usable connections.
June 2026 ministry report records the upper lift out of service; no subsequent primary reopening established.
Use the local tourism base-area point at Savin kuk bb. Arrange the last 6 km from Žabljak and confirm parking, lesson or rental meeting point and the accessible transfer before entering snow. The point is a location reference, not a guaranteed entrance.
The community map shows lower Snowboard and Dernek geometry and the Savin Kuk I alignment. Savin Kuk II, upper black terrain, plan-derived Korito and the unverified connector are omitted. Do not join gaps or infer an authorised return; ask staff for the actual signed open scope.
Unconfirmed: final ski boarding, passenger download and the complete skier return are not established. Confirm a descent suitable for your ability, equipment return and the town transfer before ascending; summer sightseeing hours and old bus documents do not establish the winter return.

Source-local piste grades
Independent lower-area community map
Savin Kuk is the managed alpine ski area outside Žabljak on Durmitor. The national tourism authority places it 6 km from town and advertises blue Snowboard (650 m), Derneci (1,100 m) and Panalj (900 m), red Korito (1,200 m), black Vuk’s trail (800 m) and a 150 m baby slope. Preserve those local names and grades; they are advertised references, not a surveyed or currently usable inventory.
Conflicting sources: the undated tourism descriptions promote two chairlifts and upper black terrain, while the Tourism Ministry’s June 2026 season report says Savin Kuk II was out of service. No subsequent primary reopening or current authorisation is established. Do not plan on the upper lift, Vuk’s trail or a summit connection; they are excluded from our independent map.
The map retains inspected lower-area community geometry, including the named Snowboard and Dernek alignments. Dernek is not silently renamed to the authority’s Derneci; unmatched lines stay grey. Korito and Vukova geometry whose OSM notes describe drawing from an on-site plan, plus an explicitly unverified connector, are omitted. Gaps are real and must not be joined into a suggested descent.
Historical: the Tourism Ministry’s June 2026 season report records surface lifts starting on 12 January 2026 and Savin Kuk I on 31 January after an extraordinary technical inspection; Savin Kuk II remained out of service. The report does not establish current winter approval. The April 2026 investment document proposes modernisation within existing limits; a proposal is not a completed replacement or a permission to operate.
Unconfirmed: valid current lift-specific authorisations, the operating winter installations, daily hours, final ascent, passenger download and the complete skier return are not established. Ask TC Durmitor which installation and signed ability-appropriate descent are actually authorised and open before purchasing or boarding. Our map shows community alignments, not an approved operating inventory.
The OSM Savin Kuk I record explicitly labels its June–September seasonal limit an assumption and says winter hours were not surveyed. Those summer/sightseeing observations are not used as a ski timetable. Do not infer a safe transfer from Savin Kuk I to Savin Kuk II or travel uphill without an agreed return.
The ski centre’s published address is Savin kuk bb, Žabljak. The local tourism page gives the base-area point 43.12229, 19.10355; this is a planning location, not a verified accessible entrance or parking reservation. Stay in contact with the centre about the actual winter approach and drop-off before setting off from town.
The local tourism authority identifies bus approaches via Podgorica, Nikšić, Pljevlja and Mojkovac and refers visitors to the Žabljak bus station and its ticket information. Check the actual travel date with the carrier and arrange the separate ski-centre transfer, equipment carriage and return. Generic journey estimates and old airline links do not establish a current connection.
Unconfirmed: a current winter ski-bus timetable, final return departure, maintained parking capacity, step-free transfer, accessible toilets and lift assistance are not established. Ask the tourism office or centre for the whole arrival-and-return chain; a past free-bus programme or tourism-office hours do not establish this winter’s service.
TC Durmitor is listed as the centre contact at +382 52 363 036. Ask for a ski-specific current tariff, the named installations included, ticket duration, age rules and any equipment or lesson inclusions. A sightseeing ride, ski rental or published mountain description does not establish a ski pass or permission for the upper terrain.
Unconfirmed: current winter fares, season dates, online availability, deposits, refund or closure terms, insurance and included rescue cover are not established. The tourism rental page links a price PDF and transport document under a January 2025 upload path; no 2026/27 validity is inferred from those links. No price or bookable offer is published here.
Historical: the Police Directorate’s 20 December 2025 statement records a fatal incident at Savin Kuk and an investigation with expert examinations. The June 2026 ministry report later records Savin Kuk II out of service. These sources do not establish the cause, current legal responsibility or current safety approval; none is invented here.
Use only terrain and installations explicitly confirmed open and authorised by the centre. Obey staff, closures and ability limits, use suitable protective equipment and settle the complete descent and last return before boarding. Neither the community map nor a summer viewpoint description grants uphill, night, off-piste or national-park access; do not substitute a hiking line for a ski return.
Gorska služba spasavanja gives 112 for mountain emergencies through the emergency coordination centre. Give your precise position, what happened, injuries, weather and access, protect yourself from immediate hazards and assist within your competence. Unconfirmed: a current dedicated piste-patrol number, on-site first-aid hours, evacuation/download arrangements and rescue cost or insurance coverage are not established. Ask the operator before entering the terrain.
The local tourism authority lists ski service, ski school and catering at Savin Kuk; its rental directory names TC Durmitor at Savin kuk bb and +382 52 363 036. Arrange the actual meeting point, fitting, available sizes, qualified lesson provision and equipment return directly. A directory entry does not guarantee today’s stock, staff or suitability for an individual visitor.
The tourism office contact page lists +382 67 174 617 and a Vuka Karadžića bb town address; its header also displays +382 52 361 802. These are tourism-information contacts, not a dedicated piste-patrol dispatch. Ask which office is staffed for your travel date and how to reach the centre.
Unconfirmed: current provider hours, lesson and rental prices, adaptive instruction, toilets, food-service availability and accommodation-to-lift assistance are not established. Obtain the specific service and access arrangements before committing to travel; no full accessible visit or included assistance is promised.
Selected historical name and local-grade references only. The coverage note explains the unavailable current official plan. This list establishes neither the full inventory nor current opening or access.

05 / PROFILE BASIS & SOURCES
This profile is based on current information published or supplied by the place or its operator and the dated sources linked below.
Initial ten-scope independent source review distinguishes tourism inventory from historical inspection and operation; current authorisations, skiing, prices and complete return remain explicitly unconfirmed.
