103MAPS / UNDERSTAND THE AREA
Explore the independent community map and practical starting bases. Read the coverage limits and check current opening and access with the operator.
Colours show the published skiing status or confirmed operating calendar, not whether every lift is running. Check the operator before travel.
Confirmed dates change colours automatically in the place’s local time. Tentative dates, conflicting reports and expired checks remain black.
This independent community map covers named managed downhill geometry in Pal and Arinsal, their village gondola access and the inter-sector cable car. It excludes neighbouring Ordino Arcalís, touring/freeride, dedicated parks, technical/station objects, unnamed connections and unconfirmed legacy identities. Original community names are retained without inventing operator aliases; missing lifts and pistes make this a partial geographic aid, not the resort inventory. Grey geometry has no verified literal local colour. It does not establish current opening, grooming, access, lift carriage, a suitable descent or a final return. Snapshot time uses original canonical OSM API tile HTTP response Dates, not an Overpass replication timestamp. Unconfirmed: a legally verified official-plan preview or deep link is unavailable under the operator’s published homepage-only linking terms; find its winter map through the operator homepage.
HOW THE AREA CONNECTS
Access: La Massana gondola and separate La Caubella/Coll de la Botella road bases.
Choose the actual open suitable pistes and return to your starting access.
Access: Els Orriols gondola or separately described Josep Serra chair to Comallemple.
Confirm your school/rental base and authorized village return.
Access: Coll de la Botella in Pal to Port Negre in Arinsal.
Confirm both terminal approaches, open connection and the last crossing with staff.
Use La Massana’s gondola for Pal, or choose Els Orriols/Prat de la Mollera for your actual Arinsal booking. La Caubella and Coll de la Botella are different mountain bases. The pin is a village-gondola reference, not a guaranteed accessible entrance; check equipment collection and your return base.
The inter-sector cable car connects Pal’s Coll de la Botella with Arinsal’s Port Negre. Confirm the open suitable pistes and lifts reaching both terminals, carriage conditions and the last crossing before changing sectors. The map does not establish a ski descent across the valley or an open connection.
Unconfirmed: the final crossing, suitable downhill route, authorized village download and last Ski Bus are not established for your visit. Agree the day’s last safe departure with staff, return to the intended village/parking base and allow time for queues and equipment return. The general 17:00 closing hour is not a complete return plan.
01 / FIELD OVERVIEW
Independent Pal Arinsal ski guide with a licensed two-sector community map, genuine archive Pal photograph and practical uplift, arrival, ticket, safety and service information.
Distinct Pal and Arinsal village access
Source-linked mountain connection and return limits
Weather-conditional season and documented ticket scope
Pal Arinsal is the managed alpine ski area above La Massana and Arinsal in Andorra. Its two mountain sectors are linked by a cable car; they are distinct from Ordino Arcalís and Grandvalira even when a pass covers more than one destination. This guide covers managed downhill pistes and passenger-lift geography. Ski touring, freeride, snowparks, snowshoe routes, the Bike Park and summer attractions have separate conditions and are omitted from this map.
The operator’s day-pass page advertises 63 kilometres of slopes. Its dated snow-report directory separates 27 Pal piste rows from 20 Arinsal rows and distinguishes seven green, 19 blue, 17 red and four black pistes in the combined headline. These are published inventory scopes, not a count of community geometry segments or evidence that any particular piste is open. Some names recur within the directory; this guide does not invent a complete one-to-one piste inventory.
The internal rules dated 24 February 2025 define local green as very easy or beginner, blue as easy or intermediate, red as difficult and black as very difficult. Snow and weather can increase the actual difficulty. Follow current signs and staff rather than converting a generic community difficulty tag into a universal colour. The independent map leaves unverified local colours grey.
Historical: Terence wiki’s genuine 6 March 2011 photograph looks uphill from the Pal side of the inter-sector cable car. It illustrates the former winter setting, not current snow, lift installations, a safe descent or the complete managed network.
For Pal, the operator identifies the La Massana gondola from the village towards the La Caubella side. For Arinsal, Els Orriols rises from Arinsal village, while the separately described Josep Serra chair provides access to Comallemple and its service building. These are different starting points. Confirm the lift serving your booked school or rental collection point, equipment carriage and actual open access before setting out.
The inter-sector cable car links Coll de la Botella in Pal with Port Negre in Arinsal. It is the mountain connection between the two ski sectors, not a downhill piste across the intervening valley. Check that both the cable car and the suitable connecting pistes/lifts are open before leaving your starting sector. The map does not promise that every skier can reach either terminal or complete a return by gravity.
Conflicting sources: the general lift page advertises 32 lifts, while the retained snow-report headline counts 25 facilities, split as 17 Pal and eight Arinsal, with the inter-sector connection shown separately. These different published scopes are not combined or represented as a verified current installation total. The independent map also omits unconfirmed legacy lift identities and does not claim to show every installation.
Unconfirmed: the proposed 4 December 2026–4 April 2027 winter dates and 09:00–17:00 hours are explicitly subject to weather and snow. They do not establish an unconditional skiing calendar or each lift’s final boarding. The snow report checked on 2 November still carries a 13 October 2026 update; its zero-open rows are historical evidence rather than a fresh observation of today’s skiing.
Unconfirmed: the last inter-sector crossing, final village download, suitable final piste and complete assisted return are not established for a particular visit. Agree the last safe departure and authorized return to your original village or parking area with staff before boarding; allow time for queues and equipment return. Do not assume a valley ski descent from a mapped line or a general closing hour.
Choose La Massana village access for the Pal gondola or Arinsal village access for Els Orriols. The operator’s parking guidance also identifies Prat de la Mollera for the Josep Serra chair and the Comallemple service building. On the Pal side, La Caubella and Coll de la Botella are separate mountain parking references. Check your actual booking meeting point before choosing a road approach or leaving the car.
The operator lists ten free car parks across the resort entrances and separately offers limited paid VIP spaces beside La Caubella. A Stop & Go area is for brief passenger drop-off, not all-day parking. Overnight motorhome stays are restricted to specifically designated signed areas; a free daytime car park is not a general overnight entitlement. Confirm the current road, signs, availability and applicable charge on arrival.
The arrival page describes local L5/L6 bus options and a free resort Ski Bus. That description does not establish the dated route, stop, equipment conditions or final return for your trip. Check the actual outward and return journey with the transport provider. The location pin marks the community La Massana lower-gondola reference; it is not a surveyed doorway, reserved parking space or verified step-free entrance.
Unconfirmed: the complete 2026/27 Ski Bus timetable, final public bus, guaranteed parking and accessible stop-to-lift transfer are not established. Arrange both directions and any personal assistance before travelling; a generic journey description or a proposed ski-season date does not supply those arrangements.
The current day-pass page describes Nord Pass access to Pal Arinsal, with Ordino Arcalís included from two days and a Grandvalira day from four days. These destinations are geographically separate. Verify the exact dated product and included days in the operator’s checkout. A beginner pass covers only designated beginner lifts, and a pedestrian product cannot be used for skiing; neither is an unrestricted alpine pass.
The published half-day reference starts at 13:00 and from €40.50, sold at the ticket office and subject to change. The 2026/27 Nord season-pass page lists the non-resident adult promotional price as €788 through 9 December 2026 and €977 from 10 December; the resident offer has separate evidence requirements. These are checked published references, not a guaranteed available quote or an assertion that skiing operates throughout the proposed season.
The day-pass categories use age on the first day of use and require official age documents for children and juniors. The page describes ages 6–11 as child and 12–17 as junior. It separately lists senior concessions and disability concessions requiring documentation at the ticket office. Confirm the actual product, proof, companion conditions and eligibility before purchase rather than applying a season-pass category to a day ticket.
Unconfirmed: the day page says the free baby pass is for children under five, while its next child category starts at six; entitlement for a child aged exactly five is not established here. Ask the ticket office before booking. Current date-specific full-day prices, the actual beginner-lift list and complete change/cancellation terms also need checking for the selected product; no missing price or offer is invented.
The operator requires ski insurance to be purchased before the first ski-pass use. Check the applicable policy, rescue, medical and evacuation cover and exclusions separately; insurance is not assumed to be included. Rentals, lessons, touring permissions, storage and any additional activity have their own booking and access scope.
Use only signed open pistes suitable for your ability. Control speed, give downhill users priority, keep stopping places visible and obey closures, signs and staff. The 24 February 2025 internal rules require helmets for children under 12 and adult supervision of under-12s. They distinguish the regulated piste area from off-piste and other unregulated terrain, where the resort does not guarantee conditioning, safety or rescue.
The internal rules restrict ski touring to authorized routes and times and warn about grooming machinery and tensioned winch cables. A Mountain Pass or a community line does not authorize an arbitrary uphill route, closed slope or after-hours descent. This guide omits touring routes, snowparks, freeride and unconfirmed legacy features; their omission is not a statement that they are safe or open elsewhere.
Before riding, confirm that the next open descent is suitable, follow loading instructions and tell staff if you need assistance. The internal rules apply specific accompaniment conditions to short children on chairlifts; do not assume an independent ride or a universal download right. An adaptive programme does not establish an accessible connection across every lift and sector.
Unconfirmed: a current complete personal-assistance, evacuation and final-return arrangement has not been established. Discuss your equipment, transfer and support needs with the school/operator before payment or boarding. In an incident, alert the nearest lift staff or patrol and identify the marked location; for an emergency use 112. A published booking telephone is not a dedicated emergency or guaranteed after-hours rescue line.
The operator lists separate alpine ski and snowboard schools in Pal and Arinsal, together with rental, storage, Click & Collect and dining services. Equipment-rental references cover La Massana, Pal and Arinsal. Reserve the actual category and fitting, ask whether a helmet is included and agree the collection and final return location; a general rental description does not guarantee stock or the ability to return equipment in the other sector.
The adaptive-skiing page describes provision in both sectors and lists reservesescola@palarinsal.com and +376 878 007 / +376 878 008 for information and bookings. Arrange the exact meeting point, instructor, equipment, lift carriage and evacuation support directly. The published programme and concession policy do not verify an uninterrupted step-free journey from your parking space to every slope.
The public contact number is +376 891 815. Use the operator homepage to find the current contact, booking, winter-map and conditions pages. Its published legal terms require links to the homepage; this guide omits restricted deep links and any operator artwork or preview while retaining independently sourced practical facts and a licensed community map.
Unconfirmed: visit-specific rental stock, storage opening, restaurant availability, complete accessible facilities and the final equipment/transport return are not established. Confirm these for your chosen sector and date. Keep your original base and return plan clear when changing sectors.
Selected historical name and local-grade references only. The coverage note explains the unavailable current official plan. This list establishes neither the full inventory nor current opening or access.
