046MAPS / UNDERSTAND THE AREA
Explore the independent community map and practical starting bases. Read the coverage limits and check current opening and access with the operator.
Colours show the published skiing status or confirmed operating calendar, not whether every lift is running. Check the operator before travel.
Confirmed dates change colours automatically in the place’s local time. Tentative dates, conflicting reports and expired checks remain black.
Unconfirmed: the operator map page is linked separately, but a current artwork edition and lawful inline preview have not been verified; no operator artwork is reproduced in this guide. Independent community linework covers conservative named managed-alpine corridors around Sareis, Täli, Hochegg and Schneeflucht. Area polygons, anonymous installations, route segments flagged as uncertain, technical/private/disused/proposed objects and backcountry are omitted. Gaps and unnamed beginner facilities remain incomplete; generic grades stay grey. This is not the resort inventory, a current opening report, guaranteed connection, uphill permission or navigation guide.
HOW THE AREA CONNECTS
Access: Use Malbun Zentrum for the Sareis base; check the suitable marked return before boarding.
Eastern chairlift sector with a separately listed mountain restaurant.
Access: The operator’s office is at the Täli lower station on Malbunstrasse 58; the two chairs have different closing times.
Separate named chairlift corridors above the village; map lines do not guarantee an open circuit.
Access: Match the lesson meeting point, surface-lift access and the current open area before starting.
Schneeflucht surface lifts and the separately described malbi-park; learner access is not whole-mountain access.
For Sareis use the operator’s Malbun Zentrum bus-stop reference. The Täli office and Schneeflucht starting area are separate; match the stop, rental and lesson meeting point. The village pin is an approximate community reference, not a surveyed accessible route.
Sareis, Täli and Hochegg are separate chairlift corridors, with beginner facilities around Schneeflucht and malbi-park. Choose the open marked route and local grade with staff. Community geometry omits uncertain segments and does not promise a continuous circuit or operation of every parallel lift.
Hochegg and Schneeflucht are listed to close at 16:00, Täli and Sareis at 16:15; safety closures can be earlier. Confirm a suitable return before boarding and ask about passenger descent if needed. Check the date-specific line 21 return separately; the linked 2026 timetable is not the coming winter’s confirmed schedule.

Malbun is the managed alpine area operated by Bergbahnen Malbun AG in Liechtenstein. The operator describes an elevation range of about 1,545–2,000 m and advertises 23 km of pistes. The national tourism board describes easy through demanding descents, three chairlifts and a double surface lift. Steg’s Nordic network, ski tours, winter walks and sledging are separate activities and are not included in this alpine map.
The operator’s report names Täli, Haita, Rennpiste, Hochegg, Trainingspiste, Mulde, Büela, Stafel, Mulde 2, Turna, Mittleres Egg, Windegga and Schneeflucht. These 13 named rows are references, not measured lengths or a promise that every variant is accessible. Choose the actual local marking and an open descent within your ability. The independent community map keeps unverified grades grey and omits uncertain alignments instead of converting generic difficulty into colours.
Historical: the photograph shows Malbun on 1 February 2008, including a snowy hillside and avalanche fences; it does not document the present lift footprint or conditions. At the 30 October 2026 source check, the operator’s skiing page marked all five listed installations and all 13 piste rows closed, and its linked report showed 0/23 km open. Consult the fresh report before travel; this dated observation is not a permanent closure statement.
The winter-hours page lists 19 December 2026–4 April 2027. Its local hours are Hochegg 08:30–16:00, Täli and Sareis 09:00–16:15, and Schneeflucht and Malbi-Park 09:00–16:00. Strong wind or very poor weather can stop operation for safety. The three chairlift names are separate starting/return decisions; confirm the currently open connection rather than assuming a continuous circuit from the community linework.
The official malbi-park description lists a snow carousel, magic carpet and the malbi-express pony lift on gentle practice terrain, and says use of the park is free. This does not include lessons, rental equipment or access to every lift. The tourism board describes a double Schneeflucht surface lift, while the current report groups it under Schneeflucht 1. The independent map’s separate community alignments do not establish that both surface lifts are operating.
Unconfirmed: an installation-specific downhill passenger arrangement, accessible loading and every beginner facility’s current availability have not been established. Ask the operator before relying on a chairlift descent or a particular transfer. Its terms require an adult to accompany children under six or under 125 cm on chairlifts, and prohibit carrying children piggyback, on shoulders or in backpacks on the surface lifts.
The operator directs line 21 Vaduz–Malbun passengers to Malbun Zentrum for the Sareis lower station. Malbun Bergbahnen and Schneeflucht are distinct named stops in the carrier’s timetable; choose the stop for your actual equipment, lesson or starting base. Rail approaches through Sargans, Buchs SG or Feldkirch require onward bus connections; allow time for the correct transfer and equipment handling rather than treating the village pin as every entrance.
Historical: the line 21 PDF currently linked by LIEmobil is timetable year 2026, revised 11 December 2025. Its separate directions, weekday/holiday symbols and seasonal footnotes were reviewed, but they do not establish departures for the 2026/27 ski season beginning after that timetable year. Unconfirmed: the coming winter’s exact outbound and final return departures, ski-bus dates and connection guarantees have not been established. Use LIEmobil’s date-specific planner and check both journeys before booking.
LIEmobil asks passengers needing assistance to make themselves known to the driver; wheelchair users should do so so the ramp can be prepared. That general provision does not verify a particular stop-to-lift path. Unconfirmed: current parking tariffs, available spaces, snow-cleared pedestrian access and an individually suitable step-free connection remain unverified. Ask the operator and carrier about the exact stop, loading, assistance and return, and follow current road and parking signs.
The published 2026/27 tariff lists a one-day pass at CHF 55 for adults, CHF 42 for the listed youth/apprentice/student/senior categories and CHF 30 for children. Two days are CHF 104, 80.50 and 58 respectively. Children are birth years 2011–2019; 2020 and younger are listed free with proof. Youth are 2008–2010, the adult category is 1963–2007, and seniors are 1962 and older. Discounted categories require the applicable proof; these published prices are not a checkout or availability guarantee.
The operator also sells morning/afternoon, later-start, returnable hourly, points, family and season products with distinct rules. Do not confuse the ordinary senior category with the separate age-60 weekday special. Seven-day and longer passes require a photo; family products require residence/family proof and photographs. The terms list a CHF 5 reusable-card deposit and make ordinary ski passes personal and non-transferable. Season/year-card holders are specifically offered free line 21 and ski-bus travel in winter 2026/27; do not extend that benefit to an ordinary day pass.
The general terms displayed at review are dated 8 December 2025. They exclude ordinary refunds for day and several short-duration products, with specified illness/accident arrangements for passes of two days or more and season/year cards; the hourly tariff separately describes scheduled partial returns. Check the exact product, current terms and mandatory rights before paying. Weather, closures and non-use are not a general refund promise. Assistance/companion concessions depend on the stated disability-card evidence and do not prove physical lift accessibility.
The operator’s terms apply the FIS conduct rules: keep control, leave room for downhill users, look before entering or restarting, avoid obstructing narrow or blind places, obey signs and assist after an accident. They state that only marked pistes are patrolled and warn of increased danger outside them. Respect closures, staff instructions, forest and wildlife protection zones, and avalanche restrictions. A community line, a snow-free road or a general no-closure notice does not grant access to a closed piste.
Unconfirmed: no dated piste-specific uphill route, permitted time window or after-hours access rule was established from the reviewed touring listing and terms. The listing offers guide/equipment contacts; it is not permission to climb a ski piste. Obtain the actual current operator instruction before an uphill outing, stay out of closed terrain, and do not use this managed-alpine map as a touring or off-piste itinerary. Grooming machinery and any winch operations are reasons to respect closures, not to infer a safe gap.
The published operator SOS number is +423 794 70 10. Its terms charge personnel, material and third-party rescue costs, with ambulance and other external charges separate; search or lift restart after the last patrol is also charged to those responsible. Check appropriate insurance and the actual cover. Follow staff instructions for reporting an incident and giving your marked location. Do not assume a mountain restaurant, a map point or an old photograph establishes patrol or medical cover.
The operator lists Malbun Sport for rental equipment and names Schneesportschule Malbun and Skicoach Jessica Kressig as teaching providers. Malbun Sport gives Im Malbun 34 and +423 263 37 55; Schneesportschule Malbun gives Im Malbun 35 and +423 263 97 70. Confirm your discipline, ability group, equipment size, collection point and meeting place directly with the chosen provider. A free beginner park is not a free lesson or equipment package.
Bergbahnen Malbun’s general contact is +423 265 40 00 and info@bergbahnen.li. The office is listed at Malbunstrasse 58, the Täli lower station, with +423 265 40 10. The operator lists a Sareis mountain restaurant, Schneeflucht restaurant, Täli-Bar and Malbi-Park bistro among separate outlets. Its contact page offers luggage transport 08:30–16:00 at CHF 50 for the first transport and CHF 30 per additional transport; confirm the actual collection and service availability before relying on it.
Unconfirmed: current lesson places, rental stock/prices, restaurant hours, dated school opening days and an individually suitable assisted itinerary have not been verified. The school homepage’s December–April dates have no stated year. The operator’s accessibility statement concerns its website, not physical mountain access. Discuss mobility, chairlift loading/descent, toilets, equipment, assistance and the return with the operator and provider before booking.
Selected historical name and local-grade references only. The coverage note explains the unavailable current official plan. This list establishes neither the full inventory nor current opening or access.
