01 / EVENT OVERVIEW

What defines this edition.

The race crosses exposed high-mountain terrain below Hallingskarvet and finishes at Ustaoset. Treat the published 2027 date and category instructions as planning information and follow the final briefing. Historical: the home and registration page titles still say 18 April 2026, while their main content explicitly names 17 April 2027. Retained practical fragments are not silently rolled into a guaranteed 2027 timetable.

Cross-country skiing
01
Route and lane discipline

The organiser identifies 37 km from Finse to Ustaoset in free technique. Competition skiers use the marked left-hand skating lane, with skating prohibited before the marked line approximately 100 m after the start. Around 6 km before the finish they move to the right-hand side as directed by marshals and signs. Do not derive navigation from this summary or the station point.

02
Final route and mountain conditions

Unconfirmed: an edition-final 2027 alignment, surveyed ascent, intermediate passage limits and weather decision are not established. No organiser course artwork or traced race geometry is reproduced. Obtain the final course, start card and safety briefing, and keep to the marked competition route.

03
Seeding criteria and season wording

The registration page lists women at 130 FIS DI points or better and men at 90 or better, using list 7 for 2026–2027; it also mentions selected national-team and World Cup categories. Conflicting sources: the same seeding block includes selection for the 2027–2028 national-team season, later than this April 2027 race. Bib-range and maximum-group figures also differ. Do not infer an elite-wave place from these fragments; obtain the organiser’s individual allocation.

04
Bib collection and luggage

The participant page directs most entrants to Geilohallen, already-at-Finse entrants to Finse station and Oslo/Bergen day-trip entrants to bib distribution on the train. It says start cards arrive by email in March and the bib controls the allocated train or bus. Competition and Oslo/Bergen day-trip entrants may send labelled luggage from Finse by 11:45, collecting it at Ustaoset immediately after finishing and no later than 19:00, at their own risk. Historical: the same page retains a Sunday 21 April lost-property instruction, which is not the 2027 calendar. Reconfirm final collection and luggage arrangements on the start card.

05
Support and facilities

The participant page describes three drink stations and the finish, separate competition drink service, first aid and radio links, Red Cross course patrols and ski/pole service. It directs withdrawing skiers to medical or snowmobile patrol staff and requires their bib to remain attached during evacuation. Unconfirmed: final 2027 staffing, dietary provision, accessibility and the exact medical/withdrawal deployment are not independently established. Carry your required supplies and follow race control.

FORMATThis guide covers the timed 37 km free-technique competition from Finse to Ustaoset. The 37 km recreational TRIM and 25 km Haugastøl–Ustaoset options have separate entry, start and age conditions; their classic tracks and flexible starts do not define the competition.

The organiser links a 2027 competition-only EQ Timing queue. Its live page accepts individual registration and offers Bergen, Geilo, Oslo and already-at-Finse options. The published process allocates a place, then sends a link to complete binding entry. No registration, personal data or payment was submitted in this check. Unconfirmed: remaining places, the individual’s accepted category and completed transport reservation are not established.

The participant and registration pages list 12:00 for youth girls, junior women and senior women, and 12:15 for youth boys, junior men and senior men. The general terms qualify the men’s start as approximately 12:15. Follow the assigned bib, wave and officials.

Published timing and closure boundaries

The participant page says timing ends at 17:00, the finish area closes at 18:00 and the secretariat closes at 18:30. It also lists the final Raggemyran drink station closing at 17:00. These are separate published boundaries; an open finish area after 17:00 does not promise a recorded competition result.

ON SITE

The actual 2027 competition-only queue was accessible on 31 October 2026 and displayed individual entry and four transport/base choices. Unconfirmed: a place, final capacity and registration deadline are not established by the queue display. Unconfirmed: remaining places, the individual’s accepted category and completed transport reservation are not established.

The participant page sets the competition minimum at age 15 in 2027; the recreational minimum is separately 10 in the race year. A competition skier without an annual licence needs the applicable single-race licence, paid in addition to entry. The licence price table’s 13–25 band does not admit 13- or 14-year-olds to this competition. Unconfirmed: the individual’s eligibility, annual-licence validity, international insurance and category acceptance must be established before entry.. At the 31 October check, the registration page listed competition packages at NOK 1,850 from Geilo or Ustaoset, NOK 2,500 from Bergen/Arna, NOK 2,400 from Voss and NOK 2,450 from Oslo/Lysaker/Asker. These are selected origin-specific advertised packages, not one universal entry fare. Conflicting sources: the participant page lists single-race licences at NOK 120 for ages 13–25 and NOK 300 from 26, while the separate insurance page lists NOK 100 and NOK 250. The dedicated competition process allows 24 hours to complete the form and 3 days to pay, while general terms say 6 hours and 10 days; registration-opening dates differ too. The general terms call entry binding and non-refundable for personal withdrawal, with separate cancellation deductions and no transport refund. Unconfirmed: the applicable total, invoice deadline, inclusions and 2027 cancellation terms must be checked in the actual allocation and checkout before payment.

04 / SPECTATOR ACCESS

The pin is not the gate.

The point uses Bane NOR’s published station-direction coordinate at Finse, the organiser’s named starting base. The finish is at Ustaoset. Unconfirmed: the exact 2027 start line, platform allocation, marked approach and step-free transfer chain are not established; this point is not a course map or a surveyed entrance.

Finse has no road access. The organiser requires its allocated start transport unless the entrant is already staying at Finse; Bane NOR warns there is no replacement road transport from this station if trains are cancelled. Conflicting sources: the 2027 registration and live competition queue give Geilo 10:21 and Ustaoset 10:38, while the train table gives 10:16 and 10:36 and labels the arrival Haugastøl. The Bergen return appears as 17:56 on registration and 16:56 in the table, alongside an 18:45 option. Unconfirmed: a coherent final 17 April 2027 train/return timetable, seat and connection are not established. Follow the assigned start card and reconfirm with the organiser and carrier; do not plan a connection from these conflicting times.

The organiser prohibits parking at the Ustaoset finish and directs drivers to designated Geilo parking. Its parking page names P1 east of Geilohallen and P2 via Highland, with buses to the station; private coaches must collect at Geilo. Unconfirmed: the exact 2027 parking allocation, price, final spectator-bus departures, spectator admission and onward return are not established. Follow signs and current instructions rather than the location pin.

Bane NOR lists an accessible WC during the waiting room’s opening hours. Unconfirmed: accessible train boarding, snow-covered transfers, a continuous step-free route to the race start/finish, adapted participation and race-provided assistance are not established. Arrange the entire journey with the organiser and carrier before booking; a station facility alone does not establish mountain-course accessibility.
