Start at Tsaghkadzor’s lower ropeway base and confirm the complete return before climbing the eastern slope of Mount Teghenis. Use the independent alpine map to understand the lift sectors, distinguish ten-entry and one-day ticket products, and check winter operation directly with staff.
088MAPS / UNDERSTAND THE AREA
Explore the independent community map and practical starting bases. Read the coverage limits and check current opening and access with the operator.
Colours show the published skiing status or confirmed operating calendar, not whether every lift is running. Check the operator before travel.
Confirmed dates change colours automatically in the place’s local time. Tentative dates, conflicting reports and expired checks remain black.
Unconfirmed: a current official piste-plan edition and a lawful preview basis have not been established; operator artwork is omitted. Independent OSM centre lines cover named downhill references and five passenger alignments on the eastern Teghenis slope. Piste-area outlines, four unidentified downhill lines and the separate zip line are omitted; technical, private, proposed, disused, backcountry and freeride objects are excluded. All generic difficulty stays grey. Community names and way segments are not the current operator inventory, and no opening, grooming, safe connection, download or navigation is guaranteed. The snapshot date is the canonical OSM API HTTP response Date, not an Overpass replication timestamp.
HOW THE AREA CONNECTS
Access: The lower four-seat chair and parallel two-seat alignment are community-mapped west of Tsaghkadzor.
Confirm the actual boarding entrance, signed open descent and meeting point with staff.
Access: Two successive higher chairlift alignments and a separate southern branch are community planning references.
Unconfirmed: current connections, local grades and final return need checking before ascent.
Use the operator’s Tsaghkadzor ropeway address and confirm the signed ticket/boarding entrance. The planning point is the community-mapped lower four-seat station; the operator states that parking is free, without guaranteeing a space or step-free transfer.
OSM distinguishes the successive upper chairlift alignments from the southern branch and parallel lower lift. These are geographic references, not proof of an open or easy connection. Ask staff which signed pistes and lifts form a suitable complete journey today.
Unconfirmed: each lift’s final boarding, downhill carriage and complete return to the base are not established. The 17:30 general ropeway notice and winter refill windows are different scopes. Agree on the return and onward transport before heading higher.
01 / FIELD OVERVIEW
Independent Tsaghkadzor ski guide with a licensed Teghenis map, ropeway access, winter ticket distinctions, safety contacts and explicit current-skiing and return limitations.
Eastern Teghenis lift sectors
Distinct ten-entry and one-day products
Independent licensed alpine map
Tsaghkadzor’s ropeway serves the eastern slope of Mount Teghenis in Armenia’s Kotayk region. The operator describes a 1,966–2,819 m ropeway altitude range. This guide covers the managed alpine skiing area associated with that passenger network; it does not describe a touring route, unrestricted mountainside skiing or a separate snowmobile itinerary.
The independent map retains named community-mapped downhill centre lines across the lower, middle and upper lift sectors. Names such as Presidential, ZAKI and ACMA are OSM references, not a verified current operator inventory. Generic novice, easy, intermediate and advanced tags are not converted into piste colours or promises about a skier’s ability to return.
Unconfirmed: the complete current piste inventory, official local grades, grooming and open connections have not been established. Use the actual signs and staff advice before choosing a sector. Historical: the genuine 5 March 2011 photograph provides slope and town context; it does not prove today’s snow, lift footprint or skiing availability.
The operator describes chairlift access and a four-seat service. OSM separately maps the lower four-seat alignment, two successive two-seat alignments higher on Teghenis, a southern branch and a parallel lower two-seat alignment split into two ways. These are geographic planning references; six line segments do not mean six operating lifts.
The operator’s 7 October 2026 notice gives general ropeway hours of 10:00–17:30. Its undated winter tariff instead lists 10:30–13:30 and 13:30–16:30 refill windows, with purchase cutoffs at 12:00 and 15:00. A sightseeing closing hour and a ticket-validity window do not establish the last safe skiing return.
Unconfirmed: current skiing, each passenger lift’s winter hours, final boarding, downhill carriage permission and the last complete return to the lower base are not verified. Ask staff about every connection before ascending, especially before using the upper or southern branch. Arrange a suitable return rather than relying on a mapped line or the general 17:30 closing time.
The operator gives its address as Tsaghkadzor, Kotayk region, Armenia, postcode 2310, and states that ropeway parking is free. The planning point marks the community-mapped lower four-seat station west of the town; it is not a reserved parking space, confirmed entrance or accessible boarding route.
Unconfirmed: a dated winter public-bus or resort-shuttle timetable, the final journey back to town and a step-free transfer from parking to the ticket office and chairlift are not established. Arrange both directions with your accommodation or transport provider and confirm the exact pickup point before departure.
The UK travel advisory warns that Armenian roads can be in poor condition during November–February and recommends avoiding travel outside towns in darkness where possible. Allow a winter-road margin and check current travel advice and conditions for your actual journey. The operator’s September 2024 road-repair notice is historical, not a current access guarantee.
The winter price page checked on 1 November 2026 lists a single ticket at AMD 3,000 and a plastic card with AMD 2,000 collateral. A Day Card explicitly covers ten entrances at AMD 10,000; the separate one-day product is AMD 12,000. Do not assume that a single ticket is a return journey or that the ten-entry card is an unlimited day pass.
Each listed three-hour refill costs AMD 8,000: 10:30–13:30 when refilled before noon, or 13:30–16:30 when refilled before 15:00. The child table is for under-tens presenting a passport and lists one day at AMD 9,000. Products of three or more days require consecutive days.
Unconfirmed: these published tariffs have no accepted season or expiry date, and current payable totals, included lift/return scope, card-collateral recovery, unused-entry rules and weather/refund terms are not established. Confirm the precise product and conditions at the ticket office before paying; tariff publication does not establish skiing operation.
Follow local closures, signs and staff instructions, and keep this guide’s scope inside the managed skiing area. The FIS conduct code calls for speed matched to ability, terrain, weather and traffic; room for people ahead and while overtaking; checks before entering a piste; and avoiding stops in narrow or hidden places. It also covers assistance and identification after an accident.
Unconfirmed: a current operator patrol contact, detailed local uphill/equipment restrictions, rescue coverage and an assisted evacuation or download arrangement have not been established. Ask staff before leaving the base, choose only a signed open route suitable for your party and avoid unverified branches. This map grants no off-piste or uphill access and is not navigation.
The UK government’s Armenia emergency guidance lists 911. Save that number and the operator’s public contacts, carry a working phone and arrange insurance covering your planned skiing and rescue. A general emergency number does not establish mountain patrol availability. Confirm protective equipment, children’s chairlift arrangements and any assistance needs before purchase or boarding.
The operator advertises private and group ski lessons for young people and adults, plus private snowboard instruction. Its rental listing shows skis at AMD 5,000, snowboards at AMD 7,000, and goggles and helmets at AMD 2,000 each. These are published undated amounts, not a confirmed dated package or reservation.
Unconfirmed: rental duration, boot/pole inclusion, deposits, sizes, fitting and equipment-return deadlines, lesson languages, minimum ages and current availability are not established. Reserve your exact needs and meeting point in advance; have rental staff fit and adjust equipment before heading uphill.
Public operator enquiries are +374-223-60030, +374-44-760030 and lernatour@gmail.com. Confirm the actual lesson, hire and ticket locations and your complete return plan through those contacts. A general hotel or restaurant listing does not confirm ski-day opening, dietary provision or a step-free route; discuss those practical needs directly before travelling.
Selected historical name and local-grade references only. The coverage note explains the unavailable current official plan. This list establishes neither the full inventory nor current opening or access.
