Lifts

Unconfirmed: the operator map page is linked separately, but a current artwork edition and lawful inline preview have not been verified; no operator artwork is reproduced in this guide. Scoped OSM downhill centre lines and reviewed passenger alignments cover Aremogna, Gravare, Pizzalto and Monte Pratello. Two uncertain Vallone/Monte Pratello gondolas, peripheral Heidi terrain, unidentified carriers, station outlines and disused eastern terrain are omitted. Nordic, backcountry, extreme, technical, private and proposed features are excluded. Way segments are not an operator inventory; generic grades stay grey. No current opening, access, safe return or navigation is guaranteed. Snapshot time is the canonical API HTTP response Date, not an Overpass replication timestamp.

Aremogna and Gravare

Access: Separate Aremogna, Macchione and Gravare road approaches.

Choose the exact equipment and lesson meeting point.

02

Pizzalto

Access: Independent Pizzalto road base and community passenger alignments.

Check signed connections and the return to this base.

03

Monte Pratello

Access: Rivisondoli-side base, separate from Aremogna and Pizzalto.

New gondola construction is not verified passenger operation.

01

Choose the actual road base

The point marks the lower community Aremogna gondola endpoint. Pizzalto and Monte Pratello have separate road bases, while Gravare and Macchione have distinct approaches within Aremogna. Match your rental, lesson and return plan to the actual base.

02

Check every sector connection

Community alignments extend across Aremogna–Gravare, Pizzalto and the Crete Rosse/Monte Pratello side. They describe geography rather than an open circuit. The uncertain Vallone and Monte Pratello gondola alignments are omitted during construction review; confirm signed available transfers with staff.

03

Arrange the complete return

Unconfirmed: current last boarding, permitted download and the complete return to each road base have not been verified. Establish every open lift and piste connection before ascending and reserve a separate road return; the January 2026 bus sheets do not establish this winter’s last service.

Choose one of three distinct mountain bases

Roccaraso–Rivisondoli’s managed alpine area brings together Aremogna, Pizzalto and Monte Pratello in Abruzzo. Aremogna includes the Macchione and Gravare approaches; Pizzalto and Monte Pratello have separate road bases. Nordic tracks, freeride terrain and the other Alto Sangro destinations are outside this guide’s skiing and map scope.

The consortium advertises 140 km and 32 lifts across its broader Alto Sangro presentation. These are attributed consortium claims, not a verified total for these three sectors or a count from our map. Community way segments must not be counted as individual pistes. Follow actual local signs; generic community difficulty tags do not establish a local piste colour.

The operator’s report updated 1 November 2026 at 15:36 Europe/Rome lists all 68 pistes and 23 lifts as closed. This is a time-limited current observation, not a confirmed season calendar. Unconfirmed: exact 2026/27 opening and closing dates are not established; check the latest operator report before travelling.

Check construction and the complete return before ascending

Community passenger alignments show Aremogna’s Pallottieri and Macchione side, the Gravare–Toppe del Tesoro area, Pizzalto and the Crete Rosse connection toward Monte Pratello. They explain geographic relationships, not a currently operating circuit. Match the day’s signed open lifts and pistes to your ability and chosen road base.

Historical: the operator’s 31 August and 4 September 2026 construction reports describe the new Vallone–Monte Pratello gondola, installed supports and remaining rope, station and electrical work. Unconfirmed: commissioning, passenger operation and the exact relationship to the two older mapped gondola alignments have not been established. Those two alignments are omitted from our map; do not plan a transfer around them.

Historical: the 2025/26 contract told long-itinerary users to reach the final return connection by 15:30. Unconfirmed: current individual lift hours, last boarding, permitted download and the full return to each of the three bases have not been verified. Ask staff about every required connection and arrange an alternative road return before leaving your base.

Select the actual base and reserve the return journey

The consortium links separate parking approaches for Aremogna, Pizzalto, Monte Pratello, Gravare and Macchione. Our point marks the lower community Aremogna gondola endpoint near the main Aremogna approach. It is a planning reference, not a surveyed entrance, reserved parking space or accessible boarding route. Match the exact rental or lesson meeting point before travelling.

Historical: the bus operator’s January 2026 Roccaraso and Rivisondoli sheets distinguish the Pizzalto–Coppo dell’Orso–Gravare–Aremogna route from Monte Pratello. They require advance booking at +39 348 074 9032 and show returns at 16:00 and 16:20 respectively. The site still links these 2026 sheets; they are not a verified 2026/27 timetable.

Unconfirmed: current bus operating dates, fares, exact boarding stops, last return, luggage and assisted transport have not been established. Reserve both directions directly and verify the winter road/parking instructions for your selected base; a general town arrival does not complete the mountain transfer.

Separate older tariffs from a current purchase

The consortium distinguishes a station ticket from the wider consortium product. Check the exact included area and currently running lifts before purchase; the three road bases and other Alto Sangro destinations are not interchangeable ticket promises. Passes are generally personal, while the older contract separately describes a transferable station points card.

Historical: the tariff page is explicitly winter 2025/26. Its adult day fares range from EUR 56 to EUR 60 by period, with EUR 2 for a new electronic card; morning use ends at 13:00 and afternoon use begins at 12:30. These are older examples, not a current offer. Unconfirmed: the 2026/27 payable total, eligibility, card charge and actual product availability need checkout verification.

Conflicting sources: the tariff summary says lost tickets are not replaced and broadly excludes refunds, whereas the detailed 2025/26 contract describes documented replacement and a limited ski-injury recovery procedure. Do not rely on the short summary as the complete current terms. Check the applicable season’s full contract, exclusions and insurance before paying; no refund entitlement is promised here.

Use a helmet, insurance and the day’s open marked terrain

Wear an approved protective helmet for alpine skiing and snowboarding at every age. The national text published on 12 September 2025 states the helmet requirement without the former age threshold, matching the operator’s 2025/26 contract. The operator also requires valid third-party liability insurance; arrange and check cover before skiing.

Conflicting sources: the operator’s downloadable skier code still mentions helmets only for under-14s, while its newer contract and the amended national rule require them for all ages. Follow the all-age requirement. Adapt speed and route to ability, visibility, traffic and conditions, yield safely and obey closures and staff instructions.

The live-status page explicitly prohibits access while pistes are being prepared after closing. Keep clear of grooming, snowmaking and construction; no uphill, after-hours, off-piste or worksite permission follows from this map. Check the operator-linked Meteomont bulletin for the Central Apennines and Parco Nazionale d’Abruzzo area before travel.

Unconfirmed: a current direct piste-patrol dispatch contact, rescue charges and individual evacuation arrangements have not been verified. Obtain the local accident-reporting procedure at the base and carry a working phone; the ticket-office numbers below are information contacts, not verified emergency dispatch lines.

Arrange equipment, instruction and individual assistance

The consortium lists ski, snowboard, boot and helmet rental at Aremogna (+39 0864 619083), Tames Gravare (+39 0864 760059), Pizzalto (+39 0864 602383) and Monte Pratello (+39 0864 266327), with heated storage by arrangement. Confirm collection, fitting and return at the same selected base; a rental listing does not include a lesson.

The rental page advertises winter collection from 07:45, generally until 17:00, and until 18:00 on Sunday at Aremogna and Monte Pratello. Unconfirmed: the timetable’s season, current stock, final lesson meeting point and service prices are not established. Arrange the actual day’s service rather than using rental hours as lift hours.

A.S.H.A. is presented as an adaptive alpine-ski association; the listed contact is info@ashanet.it and +39 339 8810742. Unconfirmed: individual equipment acceptance, assisted boarding, companion entitlement, availability and a complete accessible return need direct prior arrangement. No general accessibility guarantee is made.

Consortium pass enquiries use skipass@altosangro.net. The listed information offices are Roccaraso +39 0864 602148, Monte Pratello +39 0864 69152, Pizzalto +39 0864 602383 and Aremogna +39 0864 62336. Confirm the relevant desk and opening hours before travelling.
