Colours show the published skiing status or confirmed operating calendar, not whether every lift is running. Check the operator before travel.

Confirmed dates change colours automatically in the place’s local time. Tentative dates, conflicting reports and expired checks remain black.

Unconfirmed: the operator map page is linked separately, but a current artwork edition and lawful inline preview have not been verified; no operator artwork is reproduced in this guide. Independent OSM centre lines cover the managed Kultakero/front, North and Family sectors and nine named passenger alignments. Huttu-Ukko natural-snow/backcountry lines, the unverified 5b connection, anonymous paths, zip lines and station outlines are omitted; technical, private, proposed, disused, freeride and national-park objects are excluded. Generic difficulty remains grey. Segments are not the operator’s 15-slope inventory or proof of opening, grooming, safe connections, return or navigation. The snapshot clock is the canonical API HTTP response Date, not an Overpass replication timestamp.

HOW THE AREA CONNECTS

Understand the sectors.

01

Kultakero and front slopes

Access: Lower Rental/PyhäExpress base or Kultakero rental plateau.

Blue Slope and Polar/Palander choices need current signs, training-allocation and ability checks.

02

North slopes

Access: PohjoisExpress and northern T-bar with a separate road base.

Confirm the complete connection and signed front-side return before crossing the fell.

03

Family and Huttumaa

Access: Family T-bar and Huttu platter; Huttumaa magic carpet is near the front base.

Choose the actual signed beginner area with the school; parks and the fell summit are distinct choices.

01

Choose Lower Rental, Family or North base

Lower Rental and the beginner lesson meeting point are at Luontotie 6 b near PyhäExpress. Family and North have separate day lots; Kultakeronkatu 21 is the plateau rental/hotel base with restricted parking. Confirm your actual ticket, lesson and boarding entrance.

02

Check the signed summit and North connections

PyhäExpress reaches the summit/front network; PohjoisExpress and the northern T-bar serve the North side. The FAQ describes a signed Easy Way Down through run 6 and connection 6B. That operator description is not an identity match to OSM 5b; ask staff which complete connection is open and suitable.

03

Agree the final descent or assisted download

Unconfirmed: each final boarding and the last complete skier return are not established. The FAQ permits an arranged PyhäExpress download with equipment handled separately; confirm this before ascent. The published 18:20 Hotel bus does not follow the end of Friday evening skiing.

Choose the managed Kultakero, North and family sectors

Pyhä’s managed alpine area surrounds Kultakero in Finnish Lapland. The operator lists 15 slopes and nine lifts. This profile covers the signed resort pistes, beginner area and managed parks; Luosto, national-park routes, freeride areas and the natural-snow Huttu-Ukko line are outside the independent map’s supported scope.

The operator calls Blue Slope 5, North Slope 7 and the family connections easy or very easy, while Kultakero 1 and Piste Palander 3 are described as challenging. Its table uses the labels 1 – Intermediate, 2 – Easy, 3 – Challenging and 4 – Very easy. These are retained as source wording, without converting the numbers into international colours. North Slope 6 includes a steep final section; an easy table label does not make every section suitable for a novice. Training reservations can restrict Piste Palander.

Unconfirmed: the exact correspondence of every community-mapped segment to the operator’s complete current inventory is not established. The FAQ calls the front-side connection 6B, whereas OSM has a separately numbered 5b line; that line is omitted rather than renamed. Polar Madness 15 and Children Slope 16 are not represented by verified named centre lines. The downloadable map is geographic context, not an operating, grooming or navigation report.

Historical: kallerna’s genuine 2010 photograph shows a Pyhätunturi surface lift and snow-covered forest. It provides exact-place archive context, not proof of today’s snow, access, operation or lift layout.

Plan the return before changing sides of the fell

The operator’s nine lift identities are PyhäExpress A, the three-person chair B, Middle lift C, Family T-bar D, Northern Slopes T-bar E, Polar platter F, Huttuland Magic Carpet G, PohjoisExpress H and Huttu platter I. The independent community map includes all nine corresponding passenger alignments. PyhäExpress serves the summit and front slopes; the northern chair and T-bar serve the North side, while the family area has its own T-bar and platter.

Conflicting sources: checked on 1 November 2026, the homepage and slope page target 20 November 2026, while the resort overview describes an end-of-November opening goal. Neither is a confirmed opening or proof of current skiing. The proposed 2026/27 normal schedule is 10:00–17:00 on 20 November–17 December, 4 January–12 February and 7 March–2 May, and 10:00–18:00 on 18 December–3 January and 13 February–6 March. The operator reserves changes.

The published exceptions are 6 December 10:00–18:00, 24 December 10:00–14:00, 25 December 12:00–18:00, 26 March 10:00–20:00, 27–28 March 10:00–18:00 and 30 April 10:00–18:00. Friday evening skiing is advertised for 18 December–26 March, 17:00–20:00, with PyhäExpress, Polar, Family and NorthExpress. These are planned windows, not individual final-boarding times.

Unconfirmed: today’s skiing, each lift’s final boarding and the last complete skier return are not established by the undated weekly status rows or the scenic lift. The FAQ directs skiers toward the Easy Way Down signs via run 6 and its 6B connection, and says a PyhäExpress download can be arranged with equipment transported separately. Ask staff which signed return is open and suitable, and agree the final download or connection before leaving your base.

Use the correct base and book both bus journeys

The Lower Rental and ski-school base is at Luontotie 6 b, near PyhäExpress’s lower station. The operator lists day parking at Naava/front slopes on Luontotie, the Family lower station on Kerontie, Isokuru 9–15 and the North base at Pohjoisrinteentie 1. Kultakeronkatu 21 is the hotel plateau and Kultakero rental location; its parking is reserved for accommodation guests and users of the plateau’s services. A map point is not a parking reservation or an accessible entrance.

The linked Kutilan Liikenne winter timetable explicitly covers 10 November 2026–2 May 2027. It lists daily departures from Rovaniemi railway station at 09:00, 13:35, 17:55 and 21:15, and returns from Hotel Pyhätunturi at 06:15, 10:20, 14:35 and 18:20. The first listed arrival at Pyhätunturi shopping centre is 11:20. The sheet marks several intermediate stops without a separate minute; do not infer a Hotel or North-base time from the shopping-centre time.

Unconfirmed: a particular bus connection, seat, intermediate-stop minute and step-free transfer have not been reserved or guaranteed. Confirm your travel date, precise stop and both directions with the carrier or Matkahuolto. The 18:20 Hotel return does not serve the end of Friday evening skiing; arrange a later suitable return independently. For driving, the operator advises winter tyres, extra stopping distance and attention to reindeer. Check actual road conditions and parking restrictions before departure.

Distinguish ski passes, keycards and pedestrian returns

The operator’s 2026/27 tariff states a 20 November 2026–2 May 2027 sales period, subject to changes. Published adult counter prices are €50 for three hours, €58 for one day and €112 for two days; the separate keycard is €8 and has no deposit. The six-to-eleven child day price is €35.50. A €30 Friday evening product is advertised for 17:00–20:00 with standard rental; day passes include the evening session when their validity covers that Friday.

Multi-day passes normally require consecutive days, with the explicitly listed three-in-four and five-in-seven products as exceptions. Gates accept SkiData keycards beginning 01 or 30. A helmet-wearing child under six can collect a free ticket at the office when accompanied by a parent with a valid ticket. The tariff also lists separate pedestrian one-way and return products; an adult pedestrian return is €15 and does not establish a skiing pass, open pistes or an unarranged equipment download.

Unconfirmed: your payable total, weather-related changes, current ticket availability and refund eligibility depend on the actual purchase and applicable terms. The published 20% early-season online offer ends 20 December, and the later 5% online offer has its own dates and exclusions; neither should be applied automatically to a counter or season-pass price. Check the exact product, keycard, age eligibility and terms before payment. Ticket-sale dates do not confirm the skiing calendar.

Stay inside signed open resort terrain

Pyhä’s safety page gives Ski Patrol +358 10 382 5052 and says to call 112 first in a serious emergency. Report an accident to staff at a lower lift station if possible. Follow closures, signs and lift instructions; match speed and terrain to ability, give room to people ahead, and stop where clearly visible. Parks require inspection of features and a clear landing. Children may not be carried in a backpack on a slope or lift, and pets are not permitted on the slopes.

Conflicting sources: the general slope-safety page prohibits ski touring in the resort area, while the dedicated freeride page describes specific uphill exceptions and hours. This guide provides no uphill route or access authorization. Resolve the current applicable rule directly with Ski Patrol before any ascent. The operator warns that grooming winch cables can be invisible and life-threatening, and prohibits entry to closed slopes and ordinary slope use outside opening hours.

Unconfirmed: current snow, patrol response time, the day’s closures and your assisted evacuation or download arrangement must be checked locally. Huttu-Ukko natural snow, Huttu/Honka freeride terrain, the neighbouring gorges and national-park routes require separate assessment and are excluded here. A ski pass or an OSM line grants no off-piste access. Carry a working phone, save the emergency contacts and confirm insurance for the exact activity and rescue scope.

Arrange equipment, instruction and adaptive assistance

The Lower Rental at Luontotie 6 b houses the ski-school office; Kultakero Rental at Kultakeronkatu 21 also provides ski service and has PyhäStore upstairs. Published public rental contacts are +358 400 101670 for the Lower Rental and +358 400 101665 for Kultakero. Alpine sets include skis, poles and boots, while snowboard sets include a board and boots. Confirm the chosen collection location and allow fitting time before a lesson.

Historical: the rental and ski-service tariff displayed during this review is explicitly labelled 2025–2026; its amounts are not presented here as 2026/27 prices. Unconfirmed: current hire/service prices, deposits, availability and the exact return deadline require confirmation for your booking. The page defines a day rental from slope opening to closing, while the Friday schedule advertises rental opening until 20:15; agree the actual equipment-return arrangement rather than treating shop closing as a lift deadline.

The ski school offers alpine and snowboard instruction and adaptive alpine/Bi-Ski services. Beginner and group lessons start at the Lower Rental meeting point; other booked meeting points include Kultakero, Family base and PyhäLinna. Lift tickets and equipment are additional unless the booked offer states otherwise. The school lists private skiing from age four and snowboarding from six, and group skiing from five and snowboarding from seven. Contact +358 44 264 8825 or hiihtokoulu@pyha.fi to confirm instruction and assistance.

Unconfirmed: the exact accessible transfer, compatible lift and Bi-Ski arrangement, lesson language, availability and current price are not guaranteed by a general service listing. Agree these needs with the school before travel. The FAQ describes a matching free assistant ticket with a qualifying disability card or certificate shown at the counter; confirm the accepted evidence and intended pass before purchase.
