Colours show the published skiing status or confirmed operating calendar, not whether every lift is running. Check the operator before travel.

Confirmed dates change colours automatically in the place’s local time. Tentative dates, conflicting reports and expired checks remain black.

Unconfirmed: a current 2026/27 official piste-map edition and lawful preview have not been verified; operator artwork is omitted. This independent ODbL map shows inspected community downhill and three passenger-lift alignments at the managed Powder King area on Azu Mountain. The abandoned Old Azu T-bar, out-of-bounds Elevator Shaft, snow-cross feature and anomalously classic-groomed I Will Bypass are omitted. Names and generic OSM difficulty are not a verified current local-grade inventory; piste lines remain grey. Way segments are not the operator’s 38 marked runs. Geometry proves no opening, grooming, access permission or safe return. The snapshot uses the canonical OSM API HTTP response Date, not an Overpass replication timestamp. Unconfirmed: the operator’s map landing page is verified, but the printed winter edition and lawful remote-preview or reproduction basis remain unverified; artwork is omitted.

HOW THE AREA CONNECTS

Understand the sectors.

01

Base and Strawberry Fields

Access: Community-mapped chair base and handle-tow area.

Confirm lesson meeting point and the cold-weather learner-lift limit.

02

Chair-served mountain

Access: Triple-chair alignment west of the base.

Use signed open descents and verify the return before boarding.

03

Upper T-bar area

Access: Separate upper community T-bar alignment.

Confirm a suitable signed connection and the last return with staff.

01

Start at the signed village and lesson base

The resort is reached from Highway 97; the community point is beside the lower chair alignment. Strawberry Fields and its handle tow are the beginner context. Confirm pass collection, rental and lesson meeting points before unloading; the pin is not a verified accessible entrance.

02

Distinguish the chair from the upper T-bar

The independent geometry shows a westward chair climb from the village, a separate upper T-bar and the short base handle tow. Check signed open links and an ability-appropriate descent with staff. The abandoned Old Azu lift and out-of-bounds terrain are excluded; do not bridge gaps or infer a safe connection from a line.

03

Confirm the entire return before boarding

Unconfirmed: final boarding, passenger download, the last signed upper-to-base connection and dated onward transport are not established. Agree the suitable descent, rental return and onward journey before ascending. The resort says the PK Express buses are not running; a listed lodge bus stop does not establish a base transfer.

Plan the managed mountain at Pine Pass

Powder King is a managed alpine ski and snowboard area on Azu Mountain by Highway 97 in northern British Columbia’s Pine Pass. The operator advertises 38 marked runs, divided into 13 green, 16 blue and nine black-diamond runs. Those are its local categories, not an international grade conversion or a statement that all runs are open.

The beginner area is Strawberry Fields near the base. The community map shows the triple-chair alignment climbing west from the village and a separate upper T-bar alignment. Treat the intervening downhill connections as geographic orientation and confirm the signed open route with staff. This guide does not extend to side-country, touring or nearby protected terrain.

Unconfirmed: a complete current operator-to-OSM name and grade match is not established. Community names can differ from the report, and several ways can describe one run. The independent map therefore keeps piste lines grey and excludes abandoned, out-of-bounds and specialist features rather than presenting them as ordinary managed descents.

Separate the three lifts from today’s operation

The operator identifies one triple chair and two surface lifts; its report names the chair, T-bar and Strawberry Fields handle tow. The school places first-time instruction on the bunny hill and requires intermediate students to be comfortable with the chair. Ask the attendant for help with loading and unloading before joining an unfamiliar lift.

Historical: the snow report is dated 6 April 2026 and the site banner closes the 2025/26 winter season. Its closed lift/run rows and snow depths are retained old-season information, not a verified observation for today.

The operator’s November 2026 calendar now lists lifts 09:30–15:30 on 26–27 November and 09:30–16:00 on 28–29 November, in Pacific Time. These replacement entries differ from the earlier calendar detail and do not explicitly confirm an opening day. Unconfirmed: actual skiing, the complete 2026/27 operating calendar, each final boarding, passenger download and complete return are not established by these future plans. Confirm your day and every return connection before travelling; the closure banner still concerns winter 2025/26.

Arrange the highway journey and the last connection

The operator gives the resort address as Mile 122 John Hart Highway. Its arrival instructions approach along Highway 97 north from Prince George or south from Dawson Creek. Use the signed resort entrance and check winter road conditions, vehicle requirements and fuel before committing to the Pine Pass journey. The map point is near the community-mapped chair base, not a reserved parking space or a verified accessible entrance.

The arrival page says that the PK Express buses are not running. It separately lists BC Bus stops at Azouzetta Lake Lodge; a roadside lodge stop is not evidence of a shuttle to the ski base.

Unconfirmed: a dated 2026/27 public-bus timetable, the lodge-to-base transfer, accessible drop-off and the final same-day return are not established. Do not plan a ski day from the undated weekday bus times alone. Arrange the complete outbound and return journey, including equipment pickup, with the transport provider and resort.

Use the dated 2026/27 ticket table and check eligibility

The 2026/27 lift-ticket page lists adult ages 19–64 at $115 for a full day or $105 after 12:30pm; youth 13–18 and seniors 65+ at $85/$75; and children 6–12 at $45/$35. The operator says those ticket prices include tax, may change and are purchased at the hill. Cash, Visa, MasterCard and debit are listed; there is no on-site ATM. Bring age identification and read the waiver and non-refundable, non-transferable conditions.

The season-pass page separately lists regular pricing from 1 November 2026, including a $1,310 adult pass. The earlier sales tiers are not the regular current tariff. Reciprocal discounts have specific current unlimited-pass, receipt and identification requirements and exclude several multi-resort products; confirm eligibility rather than assuming a pass partnership.

Unconfirmed: the day-ticket table labels the free category as under five and the next category as ages six to twelve, leaving age five unresolved. Confirm that case before purchase. The fall season-pass sales heading also retains a 2025 start-year inconsistency; it is not a ski-opening date. Rental, lesson, transport and accommodation terms remain separate from a general mountain day ticket.

Respect closures, deep snow and the learner-lift limit

Follow the Alpine Responsibility Code linked by the operator: control speed, give downhill users room, look uphill before merging, stop where visible and obey every closure and warning. Ask lift staff when unsure of loading or unloading. A published map grants no permission to enter closed terrain, climb uphill, ski at night or leave the managed area.

The linked Ski Safety Canada guidance explains that tree wells and deep-snow immersion can occur inside as well as outside a ski-area boundary. Travel with a partner, maintain visual and voice contact and remain close enough to help. Wear appropriate snow-sport protection and agree how to reach patrol before setting out; phone coverage is not guaranteed across a mountain.

The snow school states that the Strawberry Fields handle tow does not run at temperatures of −17°C or colder. Confirm an alternative lesson or beginner plan with the school; a chair or upper T-bar is not an automatic suitable substitute.

Unconfirmed: a current direct patrol number, uphill-access permission, adaptive-assistance limits and a complete emergency or accessible-evacuation arrangement are not established. Obtain these locally before boarding. Contact resort staff for on-mountain assistance; call 911 for an emergency.

Book instruction, equipment and the correct overnight base

The school advertises first-time, beginner and intermediate ski/snowboard instruction, with advance booking recommended and instructor availability controlling places. Contact rentals@powderking.com or 1-866-769-5464 for the lesson meeting point, ability level and cancellation terms. A bunny-hill-only lesson pass is distinct from a general mountain ticket.

The rental shop lists ski and snowboard packages, helmets and goggles, basic adjustments and minor repairs. It requires photo identification as collateral and an adult, parent or guardian signature for users under eighteen. Confirm fitting, suitable stock and the exact pickup and return time; posted product names do not guarantee availability.

The operator lists the on-site PK Hostel and separately links Azouzetta Lake Lodge, campground and Cafe 97. Choose the actual overnight address and confirm the transfer to your lesson or ticket base. General enquiries go to powderhound@powderking.com or 1-866-769-5464.

Historical: the school page still includes a 2025/26 ski-club programme and a 2025/26 group-schedule image. Unconfirmed: current lesson/rental tariffs, dated programme availability, service hours and individual accessibility arrangements are not established by those mixed-season pages. Confirm the complete booking directly; summer lodge or café activity is not skiing proof.
