019MAPS / UNDERSTAND THE AREA
Explore mapped pistes and lifts, compare the official plans and choose the right starting base. Check current opening separately.
Colours show the published skiing status or confirmed operating calendar, not whether every lift is running. Check the operator before travel.
Confirmed dates change colours automatically in the place’s local time. Tentative dates, conflicting reports and expired checks remain black.
Scoped community alpine-piste and passenger-lift geometry for Ordino Arcalís. Some beginner installations are missing and source names differ from the operator. Grey pistes lack a verified local colour. Segments are not an official piste inventory, live opening report or navigation. Touring and freeride routes are excluded.
HOW THE AREA CONNECTS
Access: L’Hortell is the lower Tristaina gondola base; Planells has separate learning installations.
Ticketing, rental and school services at different buildings; confirm the correct meeting and parking point.
Access: La Basera and L’Abarsetar chairs connect the lower side to the ridge when operating.
Higher locally graded pistes and return choices; confirm the last connecting lift before leaving the sector.
Access: Tristaina reaches La Coma; La Coma and Creussans chairs serve separate upper terrain.
Open mountain pistes with different local grades. Freeride terrain and touring circuits are separate from this alpine map.
L’Hortell is the lower Tristaina gondola base; Els Planells has learning, school and adapted-ski facilities. Confirm where your lesson, parking and assistance meet rather than treating one marker as every entrance.
Tristaina connects L’Hortell with La Coma. La Basera and L’Abarsetar serve the Les Portelles side, while La Coma and Creussans serve separate upper terrain. Check open locally graded connections for your ability.
Confirm the open marked route back to your starting base and the actual last lift or permitted gondola descent. General 17:00 ski-area hours do not guarantee every connection until then; arrange the bus return separately.

Ordino Arcalís is an alpine resort in the Pyrenees, separate from Pal Arinsal and Grandvalira. Its lower L’Hortell and Els Planells areas lead towards Les Portelles and the La Coma bowl, with Creussans on the upper side. The current operator advertises 30.5 skiable kilometres; that figure is distinct from the number of named pistes or community map segments.
The current status inventory lists 27 pistes: eight green, six blue, eleven red and two black. Its map index still links the actual 2025/26 French/English plan. The legend distinguishes green very easy, blue easy, red difficult and black very difficult; these are local grades. La Basera, La Coma and L’Estadi are three selected name/colour references, not a complete inventory. Touring symbols and freeride areas do not become groomed alpine pistes.
The own downloadable map covers the scoped alpine network, with incomplete beginner-lift coverage and some older or differing names. Only exact operator-verified names receive a colour; other pistes remain grey. The official original remains at its provider, with no inline preview because the provider’s legal terms prohibit framing.
The original plan distinguishes Tristaina’s gondola, La Coma’s six-seat chair, four-seat chairs including La Basera, L’Abarsetar and Creussans, and several beginner surface installations. The lower gondola base and the mountain chairs have different boarding points. A mapped lift symbol is neither current operation nor proof that it can carry your equipment or provide your intended descent.
The operator plans the 2026/27 season for 4 December 2026–4 April 2027, with general 09:00–17:00 ski-area hours, expressly dependent on weather and snow. Confirm each lift’s final boarding and your return connection. At this check the actual 28 October report showed 0/27 pistes and 1/2 summer facilities; the sightseeing notice through 1 November does not establish skiing.
The practical road destination is the L’Hortell/Planells base area at the head of the Ordino valley. The operator directs drivers through Andorra and links the official road-status service. Its winter-equipment notice runs from 1 November to 15 May. Check the current road report, required equipment and parking instructions before leaving; the map marker only locates the gondola endpoint.
The operator advertises free parking with capacity for 1,500 vehicles and a separate EUR 12/day VIP product. Its bus page lists Ordino departures at 08:30, 08:50 (L6), 09:30 and 10:30, and Arcalís returns at 15:00, 16:00, 16:30 (L6) and 17:00, with Hotel Babot qualifications. However, the actual linked calendar is 2025/26 and has different operating patterns, including a 07:30 departure on some dates. These are not a verified 2026/27 timetable.
Planells has reserved adapted-ski parking according to the school page. Arrange the actual space, snow-surface approach, lift boarding, equipment and return with the school and carrier. No complete step-free bus-to-lift journey or dated international connection has been verified. A concession or reserved-space statement alone does not establish individual suitability.
The day-pass page separates the local resort product from Nord Pass coverage. It says two consecutive days can cover Ordino Arcalís and Pal Arinsal, and four days or more include one day at Grandvalira. These are separate resorts, not a continuous piste connection. In the actual checkout, 4–5 December 2026 gives a two-day adult (18–64) quote of EUR 99 online versus EUR 101 at the ticket office, tax included. It is a dated quote, not a general adult day price.
The current page lists ticket-office senior fares of EUR 29.50 for ages 65–69 and EUR 25 for ages 70–74, expressly subject to change, plus a free 75+ category with proof. Its child, junior and youngest-child wording leaves the exact age-five boundary unclear; ask the ticket office. The beginner product covers specified beginner lifts, while a pedestrian Tristaina return is not a ski pass.
The operator advertises a 20% discount for documented disability of at least 33%, and a free necessary companion for a blind skier, processed at the ticket office. Confirm eligibility and assistance separately. Optional ski insurance must be arranged before first use; inspect its actual exclusions. The weather guarantee is a same-day ticket-office exchange after one lift use, not a promise of cash refund.
Respect barriers, local signs, patrol and current opening. The operator-specific regulations dated 11 December 2025 limit skiing to opened terrain and distinguish unregulated off-piste areas, where resort protection and rescue are not guaranteed. The old map is not a safety clearance. Its RECCO panel lists emergency 112; alert nearby staff and give your precise sector and position. The linked operator regulations require helmets for children under 12; check all current equipment rules with the school.
The current touring page requires the Mountain Pass and designated routes. The linked December 2025 rules specify daytime circuits from 07:00 to 17:30 and only the advanced Hortell ascent/L’Estadi descent from 17:30 to 20:00, with night equipment requirements. These are conditional rules, not today’s access permission. Touring is prohibited during avalanche-control work. Confirm current authorisation with the operator; this alpine map excludes touring and freeride itineraries.
The operator lists rental shops in the L’Hortell and Planells buildings, with alpine and snowboard equipment for different ages and levels. It states card-only payment at the rental shop. Confirm your size, fitting, collection point, opening and price. Storage is listed at both bases, with daily and seasonal products subject to availability; do not assume a lesson or lift pass includes rental or a locker.
The school lists specialist adapted-ski instructors and equipment, with enquiries at escola@ordinoarcalis.com. Arrange the lesson, permitted lifts, boarding support and return in advance. The operator describes a medical centre at the base; general information and booking is +376 891 820. These services do not establish unrestricted rescue cover or a guaranteed accessible transfer.
