005MAPS / UNDERSTAND THE AREA
Explore mapped pistes and lifts, compare the official plans and choose the right starting base. Check current opening separately.
Colours show the published skiing status or confirmed operating calendar, not whether every lift is running. Check the operator before travel.
Confirmed dates change colours automatically in the place’s local time. Tentative dates, conflicting reports and expired checks remain black.
Community map for planning. Coverage may be incomplete. Grey pistes have no confirmed local grade. Check the official plan and current opening; mapped geometry does not grant access.
HOW THE AREA CONNECTS
Access: Nagasaka Center House and gondola valley station.
Ticketing, rental, lockers and resort information at the village-side base.
Access: Separate Hikage base and gondola; consult operator access guidance.
A distinct base area, not an alternative name for Nagasaka.
The mapped arrival reference is the Nagasaka valley station beside Center House. Hikage is a different base; select the location of your ticketing, rental or meeting point.
Use the official winter plan to distinguish the two bases and mountain connections. The currently linked 2025/26 artwork also marks ungroomed, self-responsibility and forbidden terrain.
Check the open return course and your chosen gondola before the final descent. An older map or status page does not establish present opening or permission beyond the boundary.
01 / FIELD OVERVIEW
The operator lists the 2026/27 winter period as 28 November 2026–5 May 2027 and its Japanese homepage describes 28 November as the planned winter opening. Snow and operating decisions still determine available terrain. The English slope and lift table retains 6 May 2026 closure timestamps, so it cannot establish current availability. The four course examples below come from the operator’s 2025/26 map labelled 2026; the next winter’s complete layout is not confirmed here.
Nagasaka Center House practical base
Dated winter plan distinguished from stale status
Local course grades and boundary warnings retained
The resort spreads across Mount Kenashi above Nozawaonsen village. Its official map labelled Ski Area Map 2026 belongs to winter 2025/26. It distinguishes Beginner, Intermediate and Difficult courses, ungroomed areas, the Yamabiko self-responsibility area, strictly forbidden areas and the resort boundary. These are local categories, not a universal conversion to another country’s grades.
Four selected examples are recorded here from that dated map: Uenotaira, Paradise, Schneider and Skyline. Their listed lengths describe named courses, not measured GPS tracks, a full mountain inventory or an open valley return. The operator’s planned 2026/27 opening is 28 November, subject to snow; its older English status table cannot establish current availability.
Nagasaka and Hikage are different access bases. The dated winter map identifies their separate gondolas and the chairlifts connecting upper-mountain sectors. Nagasaka Center House is beside the Nagasaka gondola boarding area; the Yu Road moving walkway provides a separate connection towards Hikage. Neither a chairlift name nor a line on the map guarantees present operation.
The English lift and course status page still carries 6 May 2026 updates from the previous season. Daily winter lift hours for 2026/27 are therefore unconfirmed here. Recheck a dated operator announcement before travel and again before choosing a descent. Night skiing follows a separate calendar and ticket scope; the overall winter date range does not promise evening operation.
The pin locates Nagasaka valley station beside Nagasaka Center House at Toyosato 7653. It does not locate Hikage base, a car-park entrance or a backcountry gate. The operator describes rail access through Iiyama, with the Nozawa Onsen Liner at bus stop 4 and a different local service at stop 2. Confirm the actual timetable and onward village connection for your date.
The village shuttle page advertises 12 December 2026–28 March 2027, so it should not be assumed available for the planned November opening. Its holiday subheadings are inconsistent; individual departures need confirmation. The official car-access page still gives 2025/26 dates for the principal car parks. Those old tariffs, capacities and hours are not verified for the coming winter.
The operator publishes a 2026/27 winter period of 28 November 2026–5 May 2027. Its regular ticket table applies specifically to 19 December 2026–28 March 2027: an adult one-day ticket is ¥7,800, a child ticket ¥4,700 and a senior ticket ¥6,300. The regular day fare should not be extrapolated to early-season or spring dates.
Regular day tickets include gondolas and lifts and exclude night skiing. The operator lists separate night and sightseeing products, age conditions and consecutive-day rules. A four-hour ticket starts at the first gate passage and remains valid only that day. Check the current product conditions before purchase; daily lift operation and snow-dependent terrain remain separate from ticket validity.
Use only authorised open terrain and obey ropes, signs and gate closures. The dated map explicitly separates forbidden areas from backcountry and from the Yamabiko self-responsibility area. Passing under ropes is prohibited. A course being named on this page does not grant access to an adjacent ungroomed area or authorise crossing the resort boundary.
The operator warns that outside-boundary terrain is not patrolled or secured and that rescue costs are the user’s responsibility. Its backcountry guide calls for appropriate skills, current weather and avalanche information, suitable equipment and a climbing-plan notification; a notification is not a permit. For an accident inside the resort, the published patrol number is +81 269 85 3456.
Nagasaka Center House is the practical service hub: ticket counters and machines, an information desk, lockers, changing rooms, rental at Salomon Station, equipment servicing and shops. The operator also lists accessible toilets and a breastfeeding space. These facilities belong to this base and should not be assumed to exist at every lift station.
The resort management number is +81 269 85 3166, with patrol on +81 269 85 3456. Current rental prices, lesson availability and individual service opening hours have not been confirmed here. Check the operator’s current service information before relying on a facility. The archive photograph dates from 2007 and predates the present Nagasaka gondola and renovated Center House.
Selected source-checked references only. Use the complete official plan for the network; this list is not the resort’s total piste count or live opening report.
