Plan Muju Deogyusan’s Manseon and Seolcheon alpine sectors with an independent community map, practical base advice and explicit 2026/27 limits.
049MAPS / UNDERSTAND THE AREA
Explore the independent community map and practical starting bases. Read the coverage limits and check current opening and access with the operator.
Colours show the published skiing status or confirmed operating calendar, not whether every lift is running. Check the operator before travel.
Confirmed dates change colours automatically in the place’s local time. Tentative dates, conflicting reports and expired checks remain black.
Unconfirmed: the operator winter-map landing and download control are verified, but a current artwork edition and lawful preview or reproduction basis remain unverified; no operator map artwork is copied or embedded. Independently scoped community geometry covers Manseon, Seolcheon and upper managed-alpine corridors. Disused lifts/runs, backcountry objects, anonymous ways and unresolved route identities are omitted. Community names are not verified current operator aliases, and generic grades remain grey. Mapped segments are not the resort inventory, current opening, access permission, a guaranteed inter-base connection or navigation.
HOW THE AREA CONNECTS
Access: Confirm the Manseon ticket, equipment and lesson meeting point.
Learning and steeper managed sectors; patrol signs and open descents govern.
Access: Operator describes gondola or Chorus–Harmony access; check actual ski operation and return.
Silk Road and steeper upper corridors; no promised complete circuit.
Access: Check the open route, ability requirement and last return before changing bases.
Operator-described link using the Ssang Ssang and Manseon-side network; not a guaranteed transfer.
The resort has two bases. Match the ticket, equipment and lesson desk to your base; season-pass collection is described at Manseon House. The location pin is approximate and does not promise an accessible entrance.
The operator describes Ssang Ssang from Seolcheon and Yacht/Cruiser from Manseon for Connection; Silk Road access is by gondola or Chorus then Harmony. Ask staff which suitable descents and lifts are open before changing sectors.
Confirm the return to your chosen base, the final ski lift service and onward transport before ascending. Sightseeing hours do not establish ski access or a passenger downhill return; do not cross a closure to complete a circuit.
01 / FIELD OVERVIEW
Muju Deogyusan ski guide: independent map, two-base orientation, season-pass scope, transport, safety and services, with unconfirmed winter details identified.
Manseon and Seolcheon base planning
Sightseeing and ski access distinguished
Independent scoped ODbL map
Muju Deogyusan Resort in Muju-gun has two alpine bases: Manseon, also written Mansun in the English guide, and Seolcheon. The operator describes Silk Road descending from Seolcheonbong and different learning, intermediate and steep sectors. This guide covers managed alpine corridors only; terrain parks, ski jumping, backcountry and hiking are outside its map scope. Follow the actual local ability signs rather than converting Korean categories or generic community difficulty into universal colours.
Historical: the undated English page advertises 34 slopes and a 6.1 km Silk Road. Those figures are not a verified 2026/27 inventory. Conflicting sources: Connection is 768 m in the English table and 1,078 m in the Korean table; steepness wording and units also differ. No disputed length, gradient or reconciled resort total is used here. Mapped way segments are not separate pistes.
Historical: the photograph shows Deogyusan and visible cleared ski corridors from Jeoksangsan observatory on 29 July 2025. It is summer landscape context, not present snow, a slope inspection or evidence of operation.
The Korean terrain guide describes Silk Road access by the gondola or by Chorus followed by Harmony. Its Connection explanation links the two bases using Ssang Ssang from Seolcheon and Yacht or Cruiser from Manseon. These are descriptions of network orientation, not an assurance that those installations or connecting descents will operate on your visit. Community geometry excludes disused alignments and unresolved corridors.
Unconfirmed: exact 2026/27 ski opening and closing dates, dated daily sessions, installation-specific last ascents and passenger downhill returns are not established. The season-pass validity says the 2026 opening through the 2027 closing without calendar dates. The calendar retains session labels and a March 3 Tuesday note; these do not establish the coming winter timetable.
The gondola page separately publishes sightseeing periods and reservations. Its winter sightseeing row begins December 13 and includes a ski-gondola 09:30 note, but does not identify a verified 2026/27 ski calendar. A running sightseeing cable car, pass sale or empty slope-status field cannot establish skiing. Confirm the actual ski service and a suitable open descent before ascending.
The official address is 185 Manseon-ro, Seolcheon-myeon, Muju-gun. Operator directions describe the road approach through Muju interchange and onward mountain roads. Public-transport examples connect Seoul Nambu or Daejeon to Muju terminal; rail examples require onward bus and local transfers. The resort is not a railway station. Choose Manseon or Seolcheon to match your ticket, equipment and lesson meeting point.
The shuttle page labels its Muju–resort table from 1 September 2026, lists free 15-seat service and warns of limited capacity, delays and cancellation. It gives specific boarding points and conditional intermediate stops, with no set-down on the outward intermediate leg and no pick-up on the return intermediate leg. Internal resort shuttles are winter-only. Confirm the actual stop and service at +82 63 320 7113; the listing does not guarantee a seat.
The approximate Manseon location pin is a community-map orientation reference, not a surveyed entrance, parking space or accessible route. Allow for winter mountain-road conditions; check current road instructions and arrange a return that does not depend on a closed inter-base descent.
Historical: the general arrival page’s undated journey durations are examples, not verified departures. Unconfirmed: the final dated 2026/27 winter shuttle plan, fares for other transfers, last usable connection, luggage rules, winter parking charges and step-free terminal-to-base journey remain unverified. Arrange each necessary leg and return before travel.
The 2026/27 season-pass page lists adult Integrated I at a normal KRW 1,200,000 and KRW 1,080,000 for website members, with separate eligibility categories. These are published season-pass list amounts, not a day-ticket quote or verified checkout offer. Integrated II excludes gondola use on weekends and public holidays; the page describes it but its visible price table lists Integrated I. Both distinguish the ski gondola from sightseeing access, which is excluded.
The purchase instructions require the named user, photo and identity checks; collection is at the Manseon ticket-office season-pass desk, with the collection date to be announced. The site recommends Chrome or Edge, lists card/virtual-account payment and additional certificate requirements above KRW 300,000. International payment eligibility is not established by this listing.
Unconfirmed: current daily lift and rental prices, actual Integrated II availability, collection dates, foreign-payment acceptance and the complete applicable cancellation/refund terms have not been verified. The daily-price page displays a 26/27 preparation notice; season conditions are supplied as an HWP document. Read the complete terms for your pass before paying, and separate lift access, equipment, lessons, lodging and sightseeing tickets.
The operator requires obeying signs and staff, choosing terrain within your ability, controlling speed and slowing in designated slow zones. It prohibits intoxicated skiing and reckless straight-line descents, asks users to wear helmets and says to remain seated if a lift stops. Do not stop in blind or central traffic areas. Its published rules restrict paid outside instruction and outside rental equipment; confirm their application before buying third-party services.
For a slope injury, alert patrol or lift staff, give the signed location and injury details, and follow the responder’s directions. The operator lists injury reporting at +82 63 320 7333 and the medical room at +82 63 320 7330. Do not use an unverified shortcut to reach the other base. Confirm your open return route, discipline restrictions and final lift service locally.
Unconfirmed: no permitted uphill itinerary, off-piste access, avalanche clearance or individually suitable assisted ski journey is established. Closed, disused, work and national-park terrain are not opened by a map line. Weather, snowmaking and grooming can alter access; this independent map is planning context and is not navigation or an opening report.
The operator lists its season-pass desk in Manseon House at +82 63 320 7787–7788; before opening its telephone hours are weekdays 10:00–17:00, excluding holidays. General resort enquiries use +82 63 322 9000. The school page currently shows the same 26/27 preparation notice as daily prices, so a menu entry does not establish bookable lessons.
The amenities directory locates the Manseon medical room between Hotel Tirol and Manseon House and a winter-only facility beside the Seolcheon visitor centre. It lists convenience shops and a sports shop, with service-specific hours and closures. These general listings do not confirm winter stock, clinical cover throughout evening sessions or the availability of every outlet.
Unconfirmed: dated winter rental stock/prices, lesson language and ages, equipment collection/return, accessible toilets, loading assistance, companion arrangements and a suitable return journey are unverified. Contact the actual desk before booking; a gondola ride or a tourist accessibility listing is not an individual ski-access assessment. Arrange equipment fitting and any assistance directly, and confirm where and when rented items must be returned.
Selected historical name and local-grade references only. The coverage note explains the unavailable current official plan. This list establishes neither the full inventory nor current opening or access.
