Colours show the published skiing status or confirmed operating calendar, not whether every lift is running. Check the operator before travel.

Confirmed dates change colours automatically in the place’s local time. Tentative dates, conflicting reports and expired checks remain black.

Unconfirmed: a current edition and lawful preview basis for the operator’s piste artwork have not been established; that artwork is omitted. Independent licensed OSM centre lines cover Pla de Masella, La Pleta, La Pia, Coma Oriola and the supported La Tosa approaches, with 17 named passenger alignments. Separate La Molina infrastructure, unverified shared summit approaches, the unverified Racó lift, anonymous lines, expert chutes and backcountry are omitted. Technical, private, proposed, disused, freeride and extreme objects are excluded. Generic grades remain grey. Mapped segments are not the operator’s 65-trail inventory, a current opening or grooming report, access permission, safe return or navigation. The snapshot clock is the canonical API HTTP response Date, not an Overpass replication timestamp. The operator’s Masella winter-map landing page is linked separately as an external source; no operator artwork is reproduced here.

HOW THE AREA CONNECTS

Understand the sectors.

01

Pla de Masella and La Pleta

Access: Main services and beginner base near Masella Jet and TGV.

Lower forest pistes and the separate advertised illuminated night scope.

02

Coma Oriola and upper La Tosa

Access: Separate road base, chair and beginner lift; no ski rental at Coma Oriola.

Check suitable signed routes and the return before ascending; expert chutes are omitted from this map.

03

La Pia

Access: Separate eastern Masella base served by La Pia Express.

Confirm the parking approach and complete return to your chosen base.

01

Start at the base matching your equipment and lesson

Pla de Masella has the main service area near Masella Jet and TGV. Coma Oriola is a separate road base, described as 5 km away, without rental. La Pia has another parking approach and a short walk to its lift/bar area. Confirm your actual entrance and meeting point.

02

Keep the Masella return and Alp2500 crossing distinct

Use the signed connections between the Pla de Masella, La Pleta, Coma Oriola and La Pia sectors. The operator describes Dues Estacions as the common La Molina–Masella sector; crossing requires the combined pass. Confirm that every connection and return you need is open and suitable.

03

Agree your final descent before the last ascent

Unconfirmed: individual final boarding, passenger download and the last complete skier return are not established. The 16:00 last-ascent window is not a safe-return deadline. Confirm the signed route to your base, equipment return and transport before going uphill; night sessions are separate.

Choose Masella’s base and terrain before going uphill

Masella is the managed alpine resort above Alp, Das and Urús in Cerdanya, on La Tosa’s northern side. It is a separate place from La Molina; Alp2500 is the combined ticket domain. The operator advertises 74 km, 65 trails and 935 m of vertical between Pla de Masella at 1,600 m and La Tosa at 2,535 m. Its local inventory is nine green, 27 blue, 23 red and six black trails; these are operator figures, not counts of community map segments.

The operator recommends the Pastors and Pastorets beginner slopes at Pla de Masella, with moving walkways. Coma Oriola has a separate beginner area and road base, described as 5 km from Pla de Masella; it has services but no ski rental. The published blue itinerary links Dues Estacions, La Corda and La Plana. Upper red terrain and the steep Coma Oriola chutes are distinct choices requiring suitable ability, signs and actual opening checks.

Unconfirmed: every community line’s correspondence to the complete current operator inventory is not established. The independent map omits anonymous lines, separate La Molina infrastructure, an unverified Racó lift, backcountry and expert chutes. Generic OSM difficulty remains grey; no international colour conversion, current opening, grooming or navigation guarantee is made.

Historical: Alan Mattingly’s genuine 3 June 2026 summer photograph looks north from Masella over the Cerdanya basin toward Puigcerdà. It shows green terrain and reservoirs, not current snow, skiing, access or a verified winter route.

Keep day skiing, night sessions and the return separate

The named lift table lists 17 installations. Masella Jet, TGV and Jumbo Tosa serve the central mountain; La Pia Express serves the eastern Masella sector, and Coma Oriola has its own chair and beginner lift. The independent map retains 17 corresponding community passenger alignments. A mapped lift does not establish today’s boarding, passenger download or an available cross-resort connection.

The October 2026 HTML conditions give a 2026/27 operating window of 09:15–16:00 on weekdays and 09:00–16:00 on weekends and holidays, with 16:00 described as the last ascent. The operator reserves changes for conditions and the season’s beginning or end. Unconfirmed: the actual opening date, today’s skiing, individual final boarding and the last safe complete return to your chosen base are not established. Agree the signed return with staff before ascending; a final ascent time is not a descent guarantee.

Night skiing is a separate advertised 13-trail, six-lift, 10 km illuminated scope between Pla de Masella and La Pleta. Conflicting sources: the checked English night-calendar legend says Saturday and holiday sessions start at 06:00, while the Spanish legend says 18:00–20:30; both list Thursday 18:00–20:00. These legends do not establish specific operating dates. Confirm an actual session, open lifts, final return and your ticket’s night validity before travelling.

Choose Pla de Masella, Coma Oriola or La Pia deliberately

Pla de Masella is the main service base at Avinguda Peu de Pistes s/n, 17538 Masella–Alp, Girona. The planning point marks the community-mapped lower Masella Jet station, not a reserved parking space or an accessible entrance. The operator describes road access through the Cadí tunnel without crossing a mountain pass, or via Collada de Toses. Published driving times are indicative; snow, traffic, tolls and restrictions can change the journey.

Coma Oriola is a separate road-accessible base; collect rental equipment at Pla de Masella first if needed. La Pia has a separate parking approach; the operator describes about five minutes on foot from its parking to the bar/lift area. That is a walking description, not a step-free-access statement. Arrange the return to the same base rather than assuming every sector remains connected until closing.

Unconfirmed: a current dated public-transport or shuttle timetable, parking capacity, snow-cleared pedestrian route and step-free transfer have not been established from the reviewed sources. Confirm both travel directions, winter-road requirements, precise meeting point and individual assistance with the operator before departure; a pass sale or office opening does not establish ski access.

Check Masella, Alp2500 and night products separately

The checked day tariff lists adult €53 online or €56 at the point of sale, young €47/€50 and child €43/€46. The first pass support adds €2, non-refundable, and piste-accident insurance is separate at €4 per day. The page uses birth-year bands: young 2002–2014, child 2015–2019 and adult 1962–2001. Check eligibility from the actual product; season passes use a different adult band.

The advertised adult Masella season pass is €730 through 22 November 2026, then €840. The separate Alp2500 adult season product is €950/€1,090. A Masella-only pass does not grant La Molina access. Night products and supplements are separate; the day tariff lists an adult one-night pass at €27 and a day-pass night supplement at €13.50. These prices are checked offers, not a promise that a session is running.

Historical: the current HTML terms are dated October 2026, but their linked downloadable conditions PDF explicitly concerns 2020/21 and older birth-year bands. Do not apply that PDF as current purchase terms. Unconfirmed: your final total, exact product restrictions, insurance coverage and cancellation eligibility must be checked in the applicable current contract before payment; no general refund guarantee is made.

Follow closures and keep clear of winch-grooming operations

The Spanish responsibility page currently carries the Alp/Das notice dated 21 February 2008 prohibiting activities on the pistes from 17:00 to 09:00 except sessions organised by the resort. It warns of grooming machines with dangerous cables, maintenance and snowmaking. This guide grants no uphill, snowshoe, sledging, after-hours or off-piste permission. Follow the most restrictive closure and staff instruction; an illuminated or mapped line is not access authorization.

Conflicting sources: both checked operator responsibility pages contain a sentence giving priority to skiers above, while their own FIS section and the FIS code require the skier coming from behind to protect people ahead. Follow the FIS principle: control speed, protect people ahead, leave overtaking room, check both directions when entering or restarting, and obey signs. Ask patrol to clarify local restrictions; do not treat the contradictory sentence as a reason to endanger someone below.

The operator lists piste assistance at +34 972 144 000 and +34 680 144 000. Its medical service is beside Masella Jet at Pla de Masella and describes a doctor, nurse, ambulance and piste first-aid team during skiing hours. Call 112 for an emergency and report an accurate location or nearby lift/piste reference. Unconfirmed: current patrol staffing, response time, accessible evacuation and the suitability of a particular descent are not guaranteed; agree individual needs with the resort.

Book lessons and equipment at the correct base

The ski and snowboard school lists +34 972 890 145 and escola@masella.com; the general resort contact is +34 972 144 000 and masella@masella.com. The school describes lessons and children’s provision, with separate ages and booking arrangements. Confirm the meeting place, instructor language, equipment, ticket and supervision rather than assuming they are included in another product.

Rental is available at Pla de Masella; the itinerary page explicitly excludes rental at Coma Oriola. The checked rental table lists an adult standard ski/boot/pole set at €28 for one day, with helmet and other categories separately priced. Lockers are between TGV and Masella Jet; food outlets are listed at Pla de Masella, Coma Oriola, Cap del Bosc and La Pia. Confirm actual service hours and equipment return, especially after night sessions.

Unconfirmed: the timetable page’s office, workshop and school hours are not a verified ski-season service calendar. It currently lists weekend workshop closure and shorter weekend office hours. Adaptive equipment, suitable lift boarding, step-free toilets and an assisted transfer are not established by a general reference to disabled equipment; arrange specific assistance directly. Rental and locker tariffs lack an explicit current-season label, so reconfirm them before booking.
