Hausberg
Access: Winter-only Hausbergbahn, Kinderland and named learning lifts.
Confirm the exact school base and ticket; Kinderland does not include Kreuzwankl.

032MAPS / UNDERSTAND THE AREA
Explore mapped pistes and lifts, compare the official plans and choose the right starting base. Check current opening separately.
Colours show the published skiing status or confirmed operating calendar, not whether every lift is running. Check the operator before travel.
Confirmed dates change colours automatically in the place’s local time. Tentative dates, conflicting reports and expired checks remain black.
Scoped community geometry for Hausberg, Kreuzeck and Osterfelder/Alpspitze, with 16 named passenger-lift ways. The unverified 2025 Kreuzwankl replacement footprint, Übungslift C1, unidentified connectors, area outlines, private/goods lifts and Standard/Tonihütte ski route are omitted. The official original also depicts neighbouring Zugspitze, outside this map. Grey lines have no accepted exact local colour. Segments are not the operator’s piste inventory, an opening report, an authorized uphill route or navigation. Confirm actual connections and the return with staff.
HOW THE AREA CONNECTS
Access: Winter-only Hausbergbahn, Kinderland and named learning lifts.
Confirm the exact school base and ticket; Kinderland does not include Kreuzwankl.
Access: Kreuzeckbahn valley start, with separate Kandahar-Express and Hexenkessel connections.
Demanding Kandahar terrain and valley returns need an appropriate open route.
Access: Separate Alpspitzbahn valley approach, Hochalmbahn, Längenfelder and Bernadein installations.
Verify each upper connection and last boarding; the own map is incomplete.
Hausbergbahn at Am Hausberg 4 is distinct from the Kreuzeckbahn and Alpspitzbahn starts. Match the school, hire and ticket product to the actual lift. The company office and a general town marker are not a lift entrance or an accessible transfer.
Hausberg, Kreuzeck and the Osterfelder/Alpspitze sector are different parts of the network. Hochalmbahn is a separate connection; Kinderland tickets exclude Kreuzwankl chairlift. Check the actual open winter plan and installation before changing sector. Current summer facilities rows do not establish ski access. The own map omits the unverified 2025 Kreuzwankl replacement footprint and Übungslift C1; a visible gap does not establish a usable connection.
The timetable gives Alpspitzbahn’s last ascent thirty minutes before closing, Kreuzeckbahn and Hausbergbahn fifteen minutes before closing, and Hochalmbahn fifteen minutes before Alpspitzbahn. Those are not a guaranteed final descent or every connecting ski lift. Agree the return to the starting base with staff and verify the dated bus/train home.
01 / FIELD OVERVIEW
Plan Hausberg, Kreuzeck and the upper Alpspitze sector using practical primary-source guidance, with explicit winter timetable, transport and map limits.
Distinct Hausberg and Kreuzeck/Alpspitzbahn starts
Three sourced base, connection and return cards
Explicit winter timetable, ticket and map limits
Garmisch-Classic is the managed alpine network above Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Grainau, with Hausberg, Kreuzeck and the Alpspitze sector. It is separate from the Zugspitze ski area and Mount Wank. The operator advertises 40 kilometres and four valley descents; those figures are not a measured inventory of community map segments. Hausberg has Ixis children’s area, while the Kandahar sector is described for experienced skiers. Choose an appropriate open sector rather than assuming that every valley return suits a learner.
The dedicated official piste-plan original has no printed season edition. Its key shows literal blue, red and black piste symbols, with a separate red diamond for the Standard/Tonihütte ski route and a separate yellow uphill route. The original also depicts the neighbouring Zugspitze area; that is outside this profile’s own map. Selected names and local grades are references, not a full inventory or ability recommendation. Community geometry is incomplete: the unverified Kreuzwankl replacement footprint, short Übungslift C1 and unidentified connectors are omitted. Grey lines have no accepted exact local colour; generic community difficulty is not converted.
The Kandahar page itself has inconsistent overview figures: 1,800 metres of vertical and seven kilometres versus its detailed two-variant block’s 920 metres and 2.920/3.330 kilometres. No single measured route length or vertical is accepted from that conflict. The page explicitly describes black run 5 and a demanding racing descent; it does not justify treating all similarly named community branches as one uniform grade.
Hausbergbahn is a winter-only valley approach to the Hausberg sector. Kreuzeckbahn and Alpspitzbahn have distinct valley stations, and Hochalmbahn is a separate upper connection. The operator’s accessibility description identifies eight-person Hausbergbahn cabins and individual conditions on the other three cable cars. The plan lists additional named ski installations, including Kreuzwankl, Kandahar-Express, Hexenkessel, Längenfelder and surface lifts. The general mountain-railway page’s 27 installations cover all company areas, not this ski network. The operator confirms a complete Kreuzwankl replacement in summer 2025 and an eight-seat chair for winter 2025/26. The returned community line still has an unaccepted footprint despite updated seat tags, so this installation is omitted from the own map. In the inspected key, C1 is Übungslift, C2/C3 are Rimmlermoos I/II and C4 is Kinderland; the community data matches the two named drag lifts and carpet, but has no accepted C1 line. The dedicated family page describes one carpet and three beginner lifts.
The expected Garmisch-Classic 2026/27 season is mid-December to 29 March 2027; no exact opening day is confirmed. Published December–February hours distinguish cable cars at 08:30–16:30 from ski lifts at 08:45–16:00. In March–April the corresponding windows are 08:30–16:45 and 08:30–16:15; Kandahar-Express opens fifteen minutes after the ski-lift start. Main cable cars close for maintenance from 9 November until the ski season, while Hausbergbahn and ski lifts are listed closed since 30 March 2026 until winter. The observed facilities page displays summer hiking and three operating cable cars, rather than an accepted winter piste report. None of these rows proves ski opening.
The official arrival list gives Hausbergbahn at Am Hausberg 4, Garmisch-Partenkirchen; Kreuzeckbahn at Am Kreuzeckbahnhof 1; and Alpspitzbahn at An der Kandahar 13, Grainau. The company office at Olympiastraße 31 is a separate address and must not become a lift-entrance pin. No surveyed entrance or continuous accessible approach is claimed. Confirm the actual lift, school meeting point and last return before choosing where to park.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen railway station is the main public-transport interchange; the operator describes a roughly 200-metre transfer to its own station and a separate Hausberg rail stop. These are general arrival options, not a verified dated winter journey or seat reservation. The November rail-replacement notice specifically omits Hausberg and Kreuzeck/Alpspitzbahn stops. The linked Grainau ski-bus filename still says 2024/25, so it does not establish a 2026/27 winter shuttle. The newly linked winter parking panel is valid from 26 November 2026. Its actual tariff image quotes EUR 6 for one day at Hausberg and Alpspitz-/Kreuzeckbahn, payable by cash, card or app. Hausberg prohibits night parking from midnight to 07:00; Alpspitz-/Kreuzeckbahn permits parking overnight but prohibits sleeping in vehicles. The separate season-parking row starts on 9 November; that is a different product, not an earlier day-rate or ski-opening date. A payment or season pass does not reserve a space. Recheck the outward and return planner, stop, fare and final walk for the intended date; the Deutschland-Ticket’s stated valley-rail scope does not cover cable cars.
The current English and German winter tariff pages announce validity from 27 November 2026 and online winter sales from mid-November. They quote the Garmisch-Classic adult day pass at EUR 69 online in advance or EUR 72 at the ticket office; youth aged 16–18 at EUR 55/57.50 and children 6–15 at EUR 34.50/36. Online prices apply only through 23:59 on the preceding day. These are dated published prices, not a completed checkout, available booking or guarantee of snow. A single-area day pass is distinct from the Zugspitze pass, pedestrian round trip and multi-area products.
The adult morning pass is EUR 55.50 and ends at 13:00, with no sales from 24 December–10 January or 6–14 February. The afternoon product begins at 12:00 and is sold only on site. The directly fetched Kinderland tariff is EUR 43 adult, EUR 34.50 youth and EUR 21.50 child, including one Hausbergbahn round trip and the children’s practice lifts, explicitly excluding Kreuzwankl chairlift. These current EN/DE values override older search excerpts. Under-six accompanied travel and an under-six ski-course ticket are different cases; a course still requires a valid ticket. The dedicated family page describes the Kinderland ticket more narrowly as Hausbergbahn plus the carpet, while the current tariff includes practice lifts. Confirm the exact included installations before buying; neither wording includes Kreuzwankl.
Tickets are personal. The current FAQ says bad-weather rebooking/refunds are unavailable and personal non-use is not normally refundable; illness is reviewed with supporting information. Read the exact purchased product and current terms rather than assuming an unconditional cancellation right. The June 2025 webshop terms distinguish tickets from vouchers. The winter overview describes Twin-Ticket as one day per area, while the FAQ allows two days in one area; resolve the selected product’s actual terms before buying rather than silently choosing one statement.
Use only open marked alpine terrain and obey signs and staff. The winter page directs skiers to the FIS rules, while the touring guidance warns of grooming, winch cables, snowmaking and avalanche blasting. Never enter a closed run or use the community map, an archive photograph or a sightseeing cable-car status as permission. This alpine profile grants no backcountry, freeride, off-piste or unrestricted uphill access.
The German touring page describes Tuesday/Thursday evenings from mid-January, subject to enough snow, with a designated ascent and Horn return via named connecting pistes; the English page still ends its programme on 5 March 2026. The linked municipal order is dated 22 October 2025 and contains 2026 race dates. Do not roll those dates into 2026/27 or treat an undated programme as permission for a particular night. Both language pages warn that other pistes are closed during preparation, lifts do not operate on touring evenings and the routes are unlit. Verify current on-site authorization before any uphill or evening travel.
The operator’s school and hire directory lists independent providers including Skischule GaPa, Skischule Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Skiverleih Zugspitze Garmisch-Partenkirchen and several others. A directory listing does not establish a current lesson slot, price, equipment availability, adapted programme or common meeting point. Confirm discipline, ability, age, language, collection/return and booking terms with the chosen provider. The operator lists Hausberg restaurants near its upper station and separate stops at Kreuzeck and Osterfelder; they do not establish an open refuge or guaranteed last connection.
The accessibility page is specific: Kreuzeckbahn has level cabin access; Alpspitzbahn uses a lower-station lift; Hochalmbahn has a maximum 100 cm entry and about a 10 cm step; Hausbergbahn has a winter lower ramp but three steps at the upper exit. Staff help is described, and the high connection to Kreuzeck has steep sections and water channels. The older cogwheel vehicles have stepped entries and limited wheelchair space. These facts do not establish an individually suitable winter transfer, adapted ski lesson or evacuation arrangement. Discuss equipment dimensions and the entire arrival/return with the operator at +49 8821 797 0 or zugspitzbahn@zugspitze.de; the public contact is not ski-patrol dispatch.
Selected source-checked references only. Use the complete official plan for the network; this list is not the resort’s total piste count or live opening report.

05 / PROFILE BASIS & SOURCES
This profile is based on current information published or supplied by the place or its operator and the dated sources linked below.
All ten scopes reviewed with successful primary text and actual official-plan inspection. Retain conditional season, summer live status and newly published winter parking, older touring/decree/transport editions, physical obstacles, ticket and Kandahar metric conflicts, unknown final descent and missing replacement/learner geometry. Archive imagery and community maps do not prove operation.
