Lifts

This independent ODbL map covers community-mapped managed downhill lines and outlines between the Tatranská Lomnica base, Štart, Čučoriedky, Skalnaté pleso and Lomnické sedlo, with six reviewed principal passenger alignments. The sightseeing tramway to Lomnický štít, unverified learning lifts, Nordic and touring routes, Francúzska mulda freeride terrain and technical/private/disused objects are excluded. Anonymous downhill ways retain their community identity and grey unconfirmed local colours. Outlines are area boundaries rather than skiable perimeter routes. OSM features are not an operator piste count, current opening, patrol, grooming, access permission or guaranteed return. Snapshot dates are original canonical OSM API tile HTTP response Dates, not replication timestamps. Unconfirmed: a current edition and lawful remote preview of the operator piste map have not been verified; operator artwork is omitted from this independent guide.

HOW THE AREA CONNECTS

Understand the sectors.

01

Village base and Buková hora

Access: Match the booking to the correct lower station.

Lower managed slopes and J alignment; learning lifts omitted from the independent map.

02

Štart and Čučoriedky

Access: Confirm each signed suitable open connection.

The mid-mountain interchange and D alignment remain distinct from the upper gondola.

03

Skalnaté pleso and Lomnické sedlo

Access: Agree the appropriate descent or permitted download before going higher.

High managed terrain; summit sightseeing and Francúzska mulda are excluded.

01

Starting base: lower gondola and customer centre

The pin follows the retained community lower gondola endpoint in Tatranská Lomnica. Match the school, equipment collection and paid terraced parking to the correct base; the village railway arrival is separate and no surveyed step-free entrance is asserted.

02

Connections: Štart, Čučoriedky and the high saddle

The independent map shows six principal alignments through Štart and Skalnaté pleso toward Lomnické sedlo. Confirm every signed open suitable transfer; the summit tramway, Nordic/touring and Francúzska mulda freeride scope are excluded. Geometry proves neither carriage nor current access.

03

Return: agree the entire chain before going higher

Unconfirmed: individual winter last boarding, passenger download, a suitable continuous descent, final public transport and a complete assisted return are not established. Agree every lift, descent and onward journey with staff before departure; autumn pedestrian times cannot supply the winter plan.

01 / FIELD OVERVIEW

Know the hill before the first lap.

Plan the base, lift connections and complete return independently of sightseeing trips to Lomnický štít. The sourced guide distinguishes published 2026/27 products from unconfirmed current skiing and preserves timetable, capacity, route and age-boundary conflicts.

Independent licensed whole-area map

Terrain: the lower slopes, Štart and the high saddle

Tatranská Lomnica is a managed alpine ski area above its own village in the Slovak High Tatras. This guide follows the mountain through Štart and Skalnaté pleso toward Lomnické sedlo. Štrbské Pleso and Starý Smokovec–Hrebienok are separate destinations; a shared operator or pass does not make them connected ski sectors. The sightseeing summit Lomnický štít is also distinct from the ski saddle.

The operator describes easier blue terrain low on the mountain, intermediate skiing around Štart and more demanding upper terrain. Its black Lomnické sedlo descent is intended for highly capable skiers. Choose a signed open descent appropriate to your ability before going higher; reaching a station by lift does not establish a suitable way down. Keep the source’s local grades without treating them as a universal scale.

Conflicting sources: the operator describes a 6.5 km longest descent while a web-indexed regional tourism page describes a 5.5 km carving track and names Čučoriedky západ while calling it an eastern section. Historical: the regional description is retained indexed text; its direct URL redirected during this review. No current route measurement, inventory or alias is inferred from it, and community way segments and area outlines are not an operator piste count.

Historical: Antimuonium’s genuine 19 August 2026 summer photograph looks from Skalnaté pleso toward Tatranská Lomnica. It supplies exact-area landscape context, not evidence of winter snow, an open piste, a current lift layout or an accessible walking route. Original bytes are retained with responsive display crops.

Lifts, ski status and the separate sightseeing network

The published transport chain runs from the Tatranská Lomnica base to Štart and onward by gondola to Skalnaté pleso; the Lomnické sedlo chair serves the higher saddle. The operator also names the F chair toward Štart, D toward Čučoriedky and J toward Buková hora. The independent map retains these six principal alignments. It omits the summit sightseeing tramway and learning-lift identities that were not independently reconciled for this guide.

Conflicting sources: the operator timetable calls the J lift toward Buková hora a six-seat chair, while the retained OSM object records eight seats. No seat capacity is accepted as certain. The operator’s autumn pedestrian table and its regional live notice also differ on the summit tramway’s final upward time; those sightseeing times are not winter skiing hours.

Unconfirmed: current skiing, exact 2026/27 ski-season boundaries, individual winter boarding and download times and a suitable complete final return are not established. The maintenance table labels 12 December 2026 as a return to winter-season operation, but it does not confirm open ski pistes. The current public status endpoint lists transport rows and a timestamp without a complete readable ski-piste report. Pedestrian gondola operation cannot establish skiing.

Unconfirmed: the lifts-and-slopes page retains a January 11 Štart West SpeedSki restriction without an edition year. Do not apply it to an upcoming visit. Check the actual day’s signed closures, wind restrictions and operating return chain with the information centre; do not rely on a seasonal advertisement or a community opening-hours tag.

Arrival, the base and paid terraced parking

The practical base is the lower gondola/customer-centre area in Tatranská Lomnica. The pin follows the retained OSM lower gondola endpoint, rather than a surveyed accessible entrance. Match the school meeting place, rental collection and parking to this base. A village railway arrival and a place-point pin do not describe the final walk with ski equipment.

The operator publishes paid terraced parking next to its customer centre. Its checked table lists €10 for 241–720 minutes, €20 for 721–1,440 minutes and €40 for each further 24 hours; parking up to 15 minutes is free. Pay at the customer-centre machine or through the Gopass app, scan the paid ticket at exit and leave within 15 minutes of payment. The page says cable-car customers also pay and that the car park is unguarded. Follow the actual entrance signs and tariff before parking.

Unconfirmed: the parking page does not establish an effective tariff date, reserved-space availability, a step-free parking-to-lift route or current 2026/27 ski-bus stops, fares and final departures. The operator’s ski-bus link redirected to the regional homepage during this review. The regional transport overview describes rail access through Poprad and Starý Smokovec, but no visit-specific winter connection or complete onward return has been verified. Arrange that journey independently before travelling.

Ski products, flexible prices and age boundaries

The operator labels its ski-pass page winter 2026/2027 and explains flexible pricing: the price can change with conditions and demand, with current day prices displayed online and at the resort. The numerical ski tariff did not load in this review. Select the correct date, skiing product and permitted resort/lift scope in the official checkout; a pedestrian or summit excursion ticket must not be treated as a ski pass.

Conflicting sources: the page labels its child category “6–12” while its explanatory wording ends before the twelfth birthday, and labels juniors “12–18” while describing ages below eighteen. It separately states free accompanied travel until the day before the sixth birthday. Exact birthday classification, child lift eligibility, required key card and companion rules need confirmation for the chosen product rather than an inferred age conversion.

The published multi-day offer allows an unused ski day to be exchanged for a one-day visit to one named partner water park, with a physical Gopass/key card required; it does not promise skiing and a water-park visit under that entitlement on the same day. Verify the selected product’s actual terms and exclusions before relying on this benefit.

Historical: the checked documents library exposes summer 2026 general terms and passenger documents for other named Tatras lifts; these do not establish the complete 2026/27 ski-pass cancellation, refund, injury or lost-card rules. Unconfirmed: a fixed day price, exact current refund conditions, lesson inclusions and any entitlement to the summit tramway have not been established. Omit them from a booking budget until the current product terms are clear.

Managed pistes, closures and safe equipment

The operator’s White Code requires control of speed for conditions and ability, space for the skier below, checks before entering a piste, respect for signs and staff instructions and assistance/reporting after an accident. It requires a properly secured helmet for skiers under fifteen and visible reflective protection for under-fifteen participants in organised instruction. These are the operator’s published rules; check the current posted requirements and use properly fitted, serviceable equipment.

The same code forbids piste access before lift operation starts and after it ends because snowmaking, grooming machines and winch cables can create serious hazards. Non-skiers need operator consent during operation except when assisting an injured person. This guide supplies no uphill, touring, freeride, out-of-hours or summit itinerary. Promotional references to Francúzska mulda do not make that backcountry area part of this managed-piste guide.

The operator restricts first lessons involving repeated walking uphill in specified lower portions of Čučoriedky, Štart and Buková hora. Its list repeats a Štart piste number, so ask the school for the actual authorised learning area; do not resolve the numbering by guesswork. Confirm the open suitable descent and passenger-download option with staff before boarding a higher lift.

Unconfirmed: a complete current patrol timetable, exact assisted evacuation arrangements and an end-to-end accessible return are not established. Report an incident promptly to resort staff or mountain rescue and give the signed piste/lift reference and exact position. The map, archive photograph, lift timestamp and general difficulty description do not replace signs, current local instructions or a personal ability assessment.

School, rental, repairs and practical contacts

The operator lists Tatry Motion school, rental and service provision. Its rental page describes adult and children’s ski/snowboard equipment, helmets and storage, with two separate Tatranská Lomnica locations: Intersport Rent & Service and the Client Centre shop. Reserve the actual size and equipment, agree fitting time and confirm the collection and return shop. A resort listing is not a guarantee of stock, an instructor slot or an included lift pass.

The published information-centre contact is +421 903 112 200 and info@vt.sk. The rental page separately lists +421 911 693 921 for Intersport and +421 901 791 113 for the Client Centre rental. The parking page gives +421 904 878 802 for an exit problem when the customer centre is closed. These are published planning contacts, not tested response channels or a substitute for the day’s emergency instructions.

Unconfirmed: current school/rental charges, instructor languages, childcare, adaptive equipment, companion entitlements, step-free boarding and a complete assisted last return have not been verified. Discuss exact needs and return arrangements before committing to travel or a higher sector. Historical: web-indexed regional text places restaurants at Štart and Skalnaté pleso, but it does not establish their current service.
