Plan Stubai Glacier’s managed ski area with a licensed community map, separate Eisgrat and Gamsgarten bases, sourced ticket and bus guidance, and explicit limits on glacier terrain and the final return.
101MAPS / UNDERSTAND THE AREA
Explore the independent community map and practical starting bases. Read the coverage limits and check current opening and access with the operator.
Colours show the published skiing status or confirmed operating calendar, not whether every lift is running. Check the operator before travel.
Confirmed dates change colours automatically in the place’s local time. Tentative dates, conflicting reports and expired checks remain black.
Unconfirmed: the operator’s linked piste-map page redirected to webcams, and a current lawful official preview has not been verified; no operator artwork is reproduced. The independent community map covers named managed pistes and passenger alignments around Eisgrat, Gamsgarten, Schaufeljoch, Daunferner and Fernau. Ski routes including Wilde Grube, Fernau and Bildstöckljoch, Powder Department and backcountry terrain, dedicated park objects, unnamed features and goods lifts are omitted. Community names and older references are not a verified match to current operator identities; generic difficulty supplies no colour. Segments are not individual pistes. Geometry does not establish opening, grooming, patrol, glacier access or a safe valley return. Snapshot time is the canonical OSM API HTTP response Date, not an Overpass replication timestamp. The operator’s current facilities page exposes the Stubai Glacier winter Intermaps control. Open the operator page to consult its resource. The printed artwork edition and preview/reproduction rights remain unconfirmed; no operator artwork is copied or embedded.
HOW THE AREA CONNECTS
Access: Separate Gamsgarten valley-station lift chain.
Confirm the open learning offer and signed suitable return.
Access: 3S Eisgrat upper station and Schaufeljoch gondola.
Higher glacier sectors; opening and return chain require current confirmation.
Access: Use only the actual open signed connection and passenger lift chain.
Distinct from omitted ski routes, freeride terrain and glacier crossings.
Choose the separate Mutterberg valley station for the actual lesson, rental and opened skiing offer. Eisgrat starts lower than Gamsgarten; the pin is only an Eisgrat area reference. Confirm the stop, parking and equipment-compatible boarding before arrival.
The operator separates Eisgrat–Schaufeljoch from Gamsgarten and Rotadl/Eisjoch connections. Check every required open lift and signed suitable piste. This map omits ski routes and freeride terrain; a line is not permission to cross a glacier or reach a closed sector.
The 4 November 2026 report gives downhill reach to Fernau middle station. Unconfirmed: the complete visit-specific last upper-lift, connecting piste, gondola download, equipment hand-back and final bus chain is not established. Confirm the cutoff with staff; neither Wilde Grube nor a mapped Mutterberg skiway guarantees a valley descent.
01 / FIELD OVERVIEW
Independent Stubai Glacier ski guide with a licensed managed-piste map, genuine archive panorama and sourced uplift, arrival, ticket, safety and service information.
Separate Eisgrat and Gamsgarten starting bases
Managed pistes distinguished from glacier routes
Dated tariffs and practical gondola-return limits
Stubai Glacier is the managed alpine ski area above Mutterberg at the head of the Stubai Valley in Tyrol, near Neustift. It is a separate destination from Schlick 2000, the Elfer and Serles, even when a regional pass covers several areas. Gamsgarten is the main learning-area reference; Eisgrat and Schaufeljoch lead toward the higher glacier sectors. Choose a suitable opened sector with staff before boarding.
The operator’s statistical page distinguishes 29 coloured pistes from seven ski routes within its 36-run total: 17 blue, 11 red and one black piste. It separately lists fall-line and effective skiing distances, which are different measures. These published figures are not a count of the community map’s way segments. The map omits ski routes, Powder Department freeride terrain, unnamed features and dedicated park features; local signs and the operator’s current report determine the actual offer.
Conflicting sources: the general statistics page lists 26 lifts and cableways, while the current service headline uses a denominator of 25. The live slope headline also reports 10/40 while its retained named-piste table marks eight of 29 piste rows open and all seven ski routes closed. These scopes are not silently combined into an inventory or a claim that ten named pistes are available.
Historical: Tvb stubai’s genuine panorama from Schaufelspitze was uploaded on 14 March 2011. The capture date is not established. It illustrates the high-mountain setting, not present snow, the full managed piste network, an approved descent or current access.
The operator’s lift table separates the 3S Eisgrat I and II from Gamsgarten I and II. It places the Eisgrat upper station around 2,888 m and Gamsgarten around 2,631 m, with Schaufeljoch continuing from Eisgrat toward 3,170 m. Rotadl, Eisjoch and the glacier surface lifts serve distinct upper sectors. The map is a geographic planning aid; a connecting line does not establish an open chain, a suitable descent or carriage for every type of equipment.
The actual report checked on 4 November 2026, carrying an 08:15 local update, lists 11 open ski slopes and 14 lifts. It gives downhill reach to Fernau middle station, replacing the earlier Gamsgarten mountain-station limit. Plan the authorized final lift return rather than assuming a ski descent to Mutterberg. Unconfirmed: the complete visit-specific last-return chain and exact season end remain unverified; current skiing is a finite observation.
The current operating page lists the first ascent at 08:00, skiing to 16:00, the last descent from the top station at 16:15 and overall operating hours to 16:30. These different stages do not mean that you can leave any distant slope at the final minute. Ask the starting station which upper-sector cutoff, final boarding and download apply to the day’s open offer.
Unconfirmed: the complete visit-specific upper-lift, connecting-piste, gondola-download and final bus chain is not established. Allow time for equipment return and queues, agree the last safe departure with staff and use the lift return they authorize. Neither a mapped Mutterberg skiway nor Wilde Grube is a guaranteed valley return.
Unconfirmed: the operating page calls 9 October 2026 the expected start and mid-May 2027 the estimated end, subject to change. The homepage separately states that skiing actually began on 9 October. A spring tariff ending on 17 May does not confirm skiing through that date, and no future season-long green interval is inferred.
The operator gives Mutterberg 2, 6167 Neustift as the destination address. From Innsbruck it describes the A13 to Schönberg, then the B183 through the Stubai Valley and the road from Ranalt to the glacier. Free parking is listed at the separate Eisgrat and Gamsgarten valley stations; electric charging is listed on the Eisgrat ticket-office parking level. The location pin is an OSM-derived Eisgrat base reference, not a verified accessible doorway or a promise of parking space.
For public transport, the operator directs travellers to Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof and VVT lines 590–594, with the actual journey checked in the VVT planner. Its arrival page describes free ski-bus travel from Mieders to the glacier during the ski season for qualifying winter-sports passengers, relevant pass holders or Stubai Guest Card holders. It separately lists a €4.70 one-way Innsbruck–Mieders fare for passengers with winter-sports equipment; verify the current ticket and both directions before departure.
Conflicting sources: the arrival page describes qualifying free travel from Mieders, while the ski-pass tariff describes included bus travel between Schönberg and Mutterberg. Confirm the applicable route, pass and boarding stop with VVT rather than assuming every Innsbruck journey is included. A hotel arrival/departure voucher and the SKI plus CITY Pass have their own scope.
Unconfirmed: a dated final return service, visit-specific road condition, guaranteed parking and a complete accessible transfer have not been established. Check the real outward and return connection, road restrictions and the walk between the selected stop, ticket office and lift before travelling.
The 2026/27 tariff separates autumn, winter and spring products. For 24 October 2026–16 April 2027 it lists the full-day adult Glacier pass at €75.50, children at €37.80, teenagers at €49.10 and seniors at €60.40, plus a €2 pass deposit. A two-day adult Glacier pass is listed at €147.30 and a three-day pass at €214.60. These are dated published tariff references; check the actual date, age band, current online quote and terms before purchase.
For that winter period, ordinary one-to-three-day passes cover Stubai Glacier; the operator describes regular passes from four days as Stubai Skipass products also valid at Schlick 2000, Serles and Elfer, with season and annual passes excluded from that extension. Each area decides its own operation, and the regional product does not establish a physical connection or simultaneous skiing in all four destinations.
Children under ten can receive the same-category free pass with a paying parent, except season and annual passes. The operator requires identification and collection at an on-site Glacier ticket office; this free pass is not available in the online shop. Check current birth-year categories and concession evidence. A pedestrian single-ride ticket is described as transport without ski equipment and must not be substituted for the required ski pass.
Conflicting sources: the published terms contain broad clauses denying refunds for closures and a later proportional-refund clause for official closures. The price page also says no replacement for forgotten passes while the terms describe a conditional deposit procedure for Glacier tickets. Obtain the applicable purchase terms and confirmation of your exact case; this guide does not resolve those differences or promise reimbursement.
Unconfirmed: the final online price, special-equipment carriage, personal concession and interruption treatment depend on the actual product and purchase conditions. Rental, instruction and any separate transport must be budgeted independently. Tariff validity does not guarantee opening, and this guide offers no bookable package.
The operator requires compliance with FIS conduct rules, marked routes, operating hours and staff or piste-rescue instructions. Keep clear of piste machines, snowmaking equipment and snowmobiles; do not walk or sledge on ski pistes. After closing, the area must not be used because grooming can involve cable winches and other life-threatening hazards. Respect protection zones, barriers and every closure.
Its risk guidance identifies crevasses, avalanche terrain, sudden fog, storms and intense sunlight as high-mountain hazards. Powder Department lines leave the secured ski area: the operator says they are not groomed, avalanche-secured or checked, and are not assigned an open/closed status. Those lines and the seven distinct ski routes are omitted from this managed-piste map. A download or visible track never supplies access permission or a safe glacier crossing.
Use fitted equipment and appropriate protection, adjust speed to visibility and traffic, and choose an opened signed descent suitable for the least experienced person. Do not improvise an uphill route, off-piste shortcut or a valley return. For an accident, alert nearby lift staff and follow the posted local rescue procedure; the operator also describes the SOS EU ALP emergency app. General information telephone numbers are not a substitute for emergency dispatch.
Unconfirmed: current avalanche conditions, glacier hazards, individual patrol coverage and the complete evacuation or assistance arrangement are not established by static maps. Obtain the day’s official report and local advice, arrange any required qualified instruction or assistance and change the plan when the controlled suitable return is unavailable.
The operator lists four INTERSPORT OKAY shop or Comfort Center locations at Eisgrat and Gamsgarten, with ski and snowboard hire, fitting, servicing and equipment storage. Mountain-station rental depots and the valley Comfort Centers have different roles. Confirm the actual collection point, helmet and boot fitting, storage product and hand-back time before taking the last lift.
The family page places the children’s learning area and ski-school office at Gamsgarten mountain station. It lists the full BIG Family camp for 13 December 2026–8 April 2027, with a smaller selection of lessons before mid-December. This programme is separate from ski-area opening. Arrange the age, ability group, meeting point, lesson ticket and any supervised meal or childcare directly with the provider; the page gives the Neustift ski-school number as +43 5226 8108.
The accessibility page lists parking near the ticket-office level, accessible toilets in main valley, middle and upper buildings, and ground-level access for the 3S Eisgrat and Schaufeljoch gondolas. It excludes Daunscharte, the Gamsgarten practice lift and Zoo Shuttle from its general surface-lift accessibility claim. The terms still permit refusal where particular equipment cannot be carried safely. Confirm your equipment and full boarding, piste, return and rescue chain with the operator in advance.
For general Glacier information the operator publishes +43 5226 8141 and info@stubaier-gletscher.com; Eisgrat information uses +43 5226 8141 345. The Neustift advance-sales office is distinct from the mountain bases. Restaurants and rental listings do not establish the day’s skiing offer.
Unconfirmed: actual lesson and rental availability, individual assistance, accessible transport, food-service hours and the final equipment-return deadline need visit-specific confirmation. A general accessibility statement is not an assessment of personal suitability or a guaranteed reservation.
Selected historical name and local-grade references only. The coverage note explains the unavailable current official plan. This list establishes neither the full inventory nor current opening or access.
