Colours show the published skiing status or confirmed operating calendar, not whether every lift is running. Check the operator before travel.
Confirmed dates change colours automatically in the place’s local time. Tentative dates, conflicting reports and expired checks remain black.

Access: Giggijochbahn valley service is announced from 6 November 2026, separately from the already open higher winter and glacier links. Check the actual open connections and complete return before travel.

01
Choose your starting base
Giggijochstraße 18 is the practical base in this profile. Ötztal-Bahnhof and the regional bus offer a rail approach; choose the valley installation serving your intended sector.
02
Understand the connections
Giggijoch, Gaislachkogl, Rettenbach and Tiefenbach have distinct access and operating scopes. Check the actual connections and glacier transport before combining them in one day.
03
Plan the return
Check the final descent and return links for your chosen valley base. The Giggijoch calendar does not establish opening hours for every lift or glacier installation.
The current resort information describes 31 lifts and roughly 147 piste kilometres between 1,350 and 3,340 metres. The operator business page retains a different 144 km headline; these inventories must not be added together. The dynamic status page separates open terrain from total inventory. Glacier and valley sectors have different seasonal availability.

Choosing between Giggijoch, Gaislachkogl and the glaciers
The full Sölden area spans 1,350–3,340 m and includes the winter mountains plus Rettenbach and Tiefenbach glaciers. The current visitor overview advertises 147 piste kilometres and 31 lifts; a business page still uses 144 km. These are differing published inventories, not numbers to add together or a statement about what is open today.
The two glacier sectors connect through a ski tunnel, while winter-area links depend on the season. The catalogue below documents three selected numbered pistes, not every line in the resort. Use the official winter panorama for the complete layout, and retain the operator’s local blue/red/black and Skiroute distinctions. A linked glacier is not permission to ski outside marked terrain.
Valley access and three different opening calendars
This profile uses Giggijochbahn, Giggijochstraße 18, as its practical arrival base. It is a ten-person circulating gondola. The operator’s announcement checked on 2 November 2026 schedules Giggijochbahn and Silberbrünnl, plus piste 13, to join the already open glacier/upper winter offer from 6 November. It lists Giggijochbahn at 08:00–16:00 with last descent 16:30, and Silberbrünnl at 08:15–16:00. These installation-specific announced windows supersede the older Giggijoch starting date and hours; they do not establish every connection, a complete final return or boarding there before 6 November.
The current resort announcement lists the glacier season as 9 October 2026–2 May 2027 and announces limited winter-sector operation from 30 October for Gletscherexpress, Einzeiger and Seekogl, with pistes 23 and 24. That partial opening does not open Giggijochbahn from the valley. Choose transport using the current report rather than assuming every winter connection is already available.
Rail arrivals use Ötztal-Bahnhof, then a regional bus into the valley. The operator lists the Sölden Giggijochbahn bus stop about two minutes on foot from the station. Drivers approach through the Inntal and Ötztal. The map pin marks the station building; choose the actual public parking entrance separately and check the current bus timetable.
At the 27 October 2026 check, lift-station parking lists 30 minutes free, EUR 5 for four hours and EUR 7 for ten hours, with additional-hour charges. Number plates are recorded automatically. Outdoor parking prohibits overnight stays from 20:00–08:00; use the stated garage rules. Glacier-road access is separate: it depends on weather and closes to public traffic in winter. Ask the operator about accessible spaces and assistance.
Winter ticket prices and glacier-only autumn products
Price check dated 27 October 2026: the adult cash-desk one-day winter pass is EUR 81 in the 12 November–4 December pre-season, EUR 84.50 in the main season and EUR 86.50 in peak periods. Main-season dates are 5–18 December, 7–29 January and 27 February–18 April; peak dates are 19 December–6 January and 30 January–26 February. These future winter tariffs are not an October glacier-day quote.
One- and two-day passes cover Sölden; three-day and longer products have broader Ötztal Superskipass conditions. Check the precise dates and included areas before buying. Online advance prices can differ; the published discount window ends four days before skiing. Child/youth identification and a EUR 3 KeyCard deposit may apply, with collection-machine exceptions. Autumn glacier tickets have a separate scope; the EUR 36.50 special ended on 15 October and must not be reused as today’s price.
The operator’s daily avalanche commission can restrict or close terrain even when snow looks skiable. Respect the marked boundaries, closed lifts and closed pistes. A blue route label is a local classification rather than a guarantee about snow hardness, visibility or suitability for a particular learner. Skiroutes are a separate type and should not be treated as ordinary groomed pistes.
For an incident on the secured Sölden pistes, the operator publishes +43 5254 508 825 for its alarm centre. Its FIS guidance requires controlled speed, care for people ahead, respect for markings and assistance after accidents. This guide is not a live snow report, an avalanche forecast or an uphill-access permit; use the operator’s current status and on-site instructions.
The official school directory covers children, adults and different skill levels, including separate beginner-ticket areas. Arrange the actual teaching location, meeting point, available language and pass scope with the school. Family suitability is based on these documented facilities; it does not mean every piste or every October connection is suitable for a first lesson.
The rental directory lists ski and snowboard equipment, boots, helmets and depots at mountain and valley locations. Stock, prices and collection arrangements belong to the individual provider. Giggijochbahn lists Wirtshaus Giggijoch at its mountain station, but restaurant opening must be checked separately from lift operation. Bergbahnen Sölden: +43 5254 508, bergbahnen@soelden.com.

What this profile is based on.
This profile is based on current information published or supplied by the place or its operator and the dated sources linked below.
SOURCE CHECKED
Operator sources checked for terrain, lifts, exact practical base, staged seasonal opening, dated ticket and parking scope, safety and services. Three selected numbered pistes are transcribed; the full inventory remains on the operator map. Different 144/147 km headlines are retained as a scope discrepancy.
