008MAPS / UNDERSTAND THE AREA
Explore mapped pistes and lifts, compare the official plans and choose the right starting base. Check current opening separately.
Colours show the published skiing status or confirmed operating calendar, not whether every lift is running. Check the operator before travel.
Confirmed dates change colours automatically in the place’s local time. Tentative dates, conflicting reports and expired checks remain black.
Community map for planning. Coverage may be incomplete. Grey pistes have no confirmed local grade. Check the official plan and current opening; mapped geometry does not grant access.
HOW THE AREA CONNECTS
Access: Borreguiles and Al-Ándalus gondolas connect the village with the mountain.
Learning pistes, carpets and mountain services; follow actual operating status.
Access: Separate upper-mountain chairlift and drag-lift sectors.
Higher terrain with locally graded pistes and weather-dependent access.
Access: Separate chairlift sectors and the named El Río return toward Pradollano.
Mapped pistes, snowpark areas and controlled connections; a map is not a live status report.
Pradollano is the village-side approach. Choose the current road, parking and bus arrangements before using Borreguiles or Al-Ándalus for the mountain ascent.
Borreguiles contains learning terrain and services. Veleta, Laguna de las Yeguas and Loma de Dílar have separate lifts, local grades and weather-dependent connections.
Check the actual El Río return and final transport to Pradollano. Uphill travel is limited to designated circuits and their rules; mapped downhill geometry is not permission to ascend.
01 / FIELD OVERVIEW
The operator currently advertises 139 pistes and 112.5 km between 2,100 and 3,300 m. Its linked official map is an older December 2025 file with different totals. This guide documents three selected named pistes; it does not present a complete current inventory or promise a winter opening date.

Sierra Nevada’s alpine area rises above Pradollano, with Borreguiles, Veleta, Laguna de las Yeguas, Loma de Dílar and Río Monachil shown on the official winter map. The technical page advertises terrain between 2,100 and 3,300 m, 139 pistes and 112.5 km. Those operator totals are separate from the three selected named pistes in this guide.
The currently linked PDF has a December 2025 filename and lists 134 pistes, so it cannot establish a complete 2026/27 inventory. Its legend uses green for very easy, blue for easy, red for difficult and black for very difficult. El Bosque, El Río and Águila retain those local grades. Touring circuits, snowpark features and unmarked mountain terrain are distinct from these alpine piste rows.
The operator lists 23 lifts: two gondolas, 14 chairlifts, three drag lifts and four carpets. The map identifies Al-Ándalus and Borreguiles as gondolas, with separate chairlift sectors higher on the mountain. The technical page gives general hours of 08:30–16:45 and Saturday Parador hours of 08:30–19:45; these are planning information, not confirmation that every installation runs together.
The inspected status report is dated 27 October 2026 at 08:24:34 and says closed, with no lifts or pistes open. Its anomalous depth field and displayed avalanche value are not a current safety assessment. The September pre-season announcement describes winter preparations but does not confirm exact public lift-operation dates. Neither the ticket calendar nor separately listed opening/closing ceremonies should be used to infer those dates.
The resort publishes GPS coordinates 37.095888, −3.400747 for planning the approach to Pradollano. Use current road information, signs and the selected parking entrance. The pin does not establish a barrier-free route. Individual accessible arrival, vehicle limits and current road-work arrangements have not been confirmed here; ask the operator and check traffic before departure.
The resort and Tocina list winter buses from Granada’s bus station at 08:00, 10:15 and 17:15 on weekdays, with an additional 15:00 departure at weekends and holidays. The resort gives a stop by Palacio de Congresos about 15 minutes later. Their first return differs: 09:00 on the resort page versus 09:15 on Tocina’s page. Confirm the actual service date and boarding time with Tocina, +34 958 465 022; the winter listing is not a year-round promise. The resort currently lists €5.50 one way and €10 return.
The parking drawer for 28 November lists one day at €20 in the underground Plaza de Andalucía car park, €9.50 at Los Peñones and €8 at Las Sabinas, for payment at the machines. Rates vary by date and product. The free-parking notice applies to the pre-season period. The operator’s September announcement also describes changing the allocation of Las Sabinas and Peñones, so confirm current car and campervan arrangements.
At this 28 October check, the actual tariff drawer for 28 November shows an adult ski pass, ages 16–64, at €61 for one day and €42.50 for a half day. These are the displayed ticket-office/machine tariffs for that date, not a general season price or a guarantee of opening. Half-day validity starts at 13:00. Confirm the visit date, age category, card requirements and total in the official purchase channel.
The page says displayed prices include VAT and compulsory passenger insurance (SOV); that statement does not establish comprehensive ski-accident or off-piste rescue cover. Child and senior products have separate conditions, and online offers can differ. A pedestrian gondola return ticket is a separate product: the operator excludes ski/snowboard boots and sporting equipment from that ticket. Do not use its lower price as a skiing day-pass quote.
Closed pistes are prohibited, including after public closing, because grooming machines and winch cables can be present. Unmarked off-piste areas are not supervised or protected from mountain hazards. The patrol page warns that rescue on closed pistes or outside pistes can be charged. A lift pass or the SOV line in a tariff must not be treated as proof that all rescue costs are covered.
The official touring page identifies the Ana Alonso / Águila and Loma Dílar circuits. It confines ordinary uphill use to operating hours and the specified sides of the routes, with single-file travel, respect for descending skiers, signs and patrol directions. The operator can close or reroute them. Separately coordinated group activities require patrol arrangements; they do not create general night access. This alpine profile does not describe an independent touring itinerary.
For accidents the operator gives 900 249 100 or 112. Patrol is based at the Borreguiles control tower. Follow staff instructions and report the exact location. Obtain current local weather and mountain-hazard information before travel; the closed-season report’s 0/5 display is not evidence of an absence of avalanche danger.
The Customer Attention Centre (CAU) brings together general ticket counters, customer support and ticket machines. The official services directory also lists equipment lockers/luggage storage, shops and restaurants. Their actual winter hours, stock and availability vary; equipment hire, lessons and individual adaptive provision have not been independently confirmed for a chosen visit date.
The current pre-season contact is +34 958 70 80 90, option 3, and atencioncliente@cetursa.es. Posted CAU hours are Monday–Thursday 08:00–17:30 and Friday 08:00–15:00, closed on weekends and holidays. The technical page lists Cetursa at Plaza de Andalucía 4 and sierranevada@cetursa.es. Confirm winter support hours, accessible routes and any specific assistance directly rather than extending the pre-season timetable into the ski season.
Selected source-checked references only. Use the complete official plan for the network; this list is not the resort’s total piste count or live opening report.
