Colours show the published skiing status or confirmed operating calendar, not whether every lift is running. Check the operator before travel.
Confirmed dates change colours automatically in the place’s local time. Tentative dates, conflicting reports and expired checks remain black.
Independent ODbL community geometry covers the managed Schlossalm, Angertal and Stubnerkogel downhill corridors and reviewed passenger alignments. Separate Sportgastein, Dorfgastein–Großarl and Graukogel, Bellevuealm, Rossalm, unverified Bucheben lift geometry, technical goods and zip lines, unnamed unresolved ways and tagged backcountry/freeride terrain are omitted. Ways tagged private for motor vehicles are conservatively omitted too, leaving visible gaps rather than an invented connection. Areas are shaded footprints, never descents following their perimeters. Community names, references and segmented ways are not a reconciled operator inventory. Generic difficulty stays grey without a confirmed literal local colour. The conservative snapshot is the earliest original canonical OSM API tile HTTP response Date, not an Overpass replication timestamp. Unconfirmed: the official winter-map landing page is accessible, but its artwork edition, exact comparison and remote-preview or reproduction rights are not established; operator artwork is omitted. Geometry never establishes current skiing, access permission, grooming, avalanche safety, navigation or a complete return.
Access: Schlossalmbahn I and II serve the Bad Hofgastein side; Kaserebenbahn links the upper terrain with Angertal when operating.
Named managed corridors include Kleine Scharte, Hamburger and Sendleiten. The announced late-November partial start does not establish access to every piste or a complete valley descent.
02
Angertal ski centre
Access: The operator identifies Angertal as the connection between Schlossalm and Stubnerkogel, using Kaserebenbahn and Senderbahn.
The GASTI Park and practice area are distinct from the cross-mountain journey. Match the actual school meeting point and open learner facilities to the booked lesson.
03
Stubnerkogel / Bad Gastein
Access: Stubnerkogelbahn I and II serve the Bad Gastein base, while Senderbahn approaches from Angertal.
The managed area includes Glackfeld, Angertalabfahrt and Jungeralm corridors. Graukogel across the valley and high-alpine Sportgastein are separate journeys, not ski connections in this map.
01
Start: choose Schlossalm, Angertal or Stubnerkogel
Match your lesson and equipment to Bad Hofgastein’s Schlossalmbahn, the Angertal ski centre or Bad Gastein’s Stubnerkogelbahn. These are different bases with different final journeys.
02
Connect: check Kaserebenbahn and Senderbahn
Angertal joins the Schlossalm and Stubnerkogel sides when the connecting lifts and pistes operate. Sportgastein, Dorfgastein–Großarl and Graukogel remain separate, even when included in a pass.
03
Return: obtain every final boarding from staff
Unconfirmed: the exact last winter boarding and complete cross-mountain return are not established. Agree lift, download and onward bus limits before leaving your base and allow time for each connection.
Choose the correct valley base, lesson meeting point and final return before boarding. The staged winter 2026/27 programme is prospective and snow-dependent; Sportgastein, Dorfgastein–Großarl and Graukogel remain separate.
Three practical bases with different return journeys

Understand the connected area before choosing a descent
This guide covers the managed Schlossalm and Stubnerkogel mountains connected through Angertal. The operator describes Angertal’s GASTI Park as the main practice area, while Stubnerkogel includes more demanding descents. Choose an open learner area with the school rather than treating a cross-mountain trip as a beginner itinerary.
The official report names Kleine Scharte, Hamburger, Sendleiten, Kasereben, Angertalabfahrt and Glackfeld among the local corridors. Blue, red and black are local signed ability grades. Unconfirmed: current public skiing, the complete open inventory and a continuous descent to every base are not established.
Sportgastein, Dorfgastein–Großarl and Graukogel remain separate areas even where a ticket covers them. Touring, freeride and unverified paths are outside this independent downhill map. Community way segments and repeated rows in the operator table are not an official piste or lift count.
Keep the staged programme and last return separate
Schlossalmbahn I and II approach from Bad Hofgastein; Stubnerkogelbahn I and II approach from Bad Gastein. Angertal is the junction, with Kaserebenbahn towards Schlossalm and Senderbahn towards Stubnerkogel. All necessary lifts and connecting pistes must be open for a complete crossing.
The planned sequence is partial Schlossalm and Stubnerkogel operation from 27 November 2026, Angertal from 4 December, then the connected daily programme from 11 December to 4 April 2027. Partial Schlossalm operation is planned for 5–11 April. These are snow-, weather- and demand-dependent announcements, not confirmation of current skiing.
Conflicting sources: under winter 2026/27 the English hours page gives 31 January 2026 for its 15:30 closing, while the German page gives 08:30–15:30 through January and 08:30–16:00 from February. The tourism lift table also repeats some installations and uses inconsistent Senderbahn references. Do not use those rows as a reconciled current inventory.
Unconfirmed: individual last winter boarding, downloading entitlement and the complete Kaserebenbahn/Senderbahn return are not established. The 15:45/16:00 Schlossalmbahn times appear under summer/autumn, and the separate Dorfgastein middle-station limit does not apply here. Ask staff for every necessary return connection and turn back with time for queues.
The operator lists train access to Bad Gastein and Bad Hofgastein and road access into the Gastein Valley via Lend and the B167. Bad Gastein’s Stubnerkogel base, Bad Hofgastein’s Schlossalm base and Angertal require different final journeys. Check your actual station, equipment collection and lesson meeting point before departure.
The bus page identifies line 550 along the valley and line 551 from Schlossalmbahn to Angertal. It says winter ski buses are free with a valid ski pass or winter-sports equipment. This is a stated eligibility rule, not a dated departure timetable or a free journey on every regional service.
Unconfirmed: the final 2026/27 bus departures, parking charges and availability, winter footpath conditions and a continuous step-free transfer are not established. Check the dated transport planner, traffic and your chosen base before travelling; a location pin does not promise an entrance or parking space.
Check season, duration and the exact pass territory
The published 2026/27 one-day adult desk prices are EUR 59 for partial pre/post-season operation, EUR 76 for Start & Finale, and EUR 81.50 for the main period of 19 December–26 March. The page lists advance online ranges, including EUR 64.50–76 and EUR 69.50–81.50 in the latter two periods. These are checked source prices, not a live quote or a guarantee of open terrain.
The day-ticket page covers Schlossalm–Angertal–Stubnerkogel, Sportgastein and Dorfgastein–Großarl. A shared ticket does not create a ski connection between separate areas. Hour tickets run from first entry; the page lists non-transferable tickets and a EUR 3 keycard deposit. Adults are born in 2007 or earlier, youths in 2008–2010 and children in 2011–2020; proof is required.
The page says children born in 2021 or later travel free on Gasteiner Bergbahnen lifts and lists a discount with documented disability of at least 70 percent. Confirm the exact operator, product and eligibility. Unconfirmed: final checkout price, your refund terms, lesson/rental inclusion, rescue cover and access for an individual assistance need are not established.
The operator points skiers to the FIS conduct rules. Control speed and distance, give downhill users room, check before entering or restarting, stop where visible, obey signs and assist after an accident. Use the actual open managed pistes; weather, ice and limited visibility can change a suitable route during the day.
The hours page states that pistes start at 08:30 here and have route- and season-dependent closures from 16:00, 16:30, 17:00 or 20:00. These are closure thresholds, not extra lift hours or permission for public night skiing. Do not enter closed terrain: grooming winches, avalanche control and snowmaking equipment create serious hazards.
Touring has designated routes, separate products and specific opening rules. The touring page states a general 17:00–08:30 closure apart from authorised evening tours. Its separate Graukogel winter-closure and touring arrangements do not create permission on Schlossalm or Stubnerkogel. Freeride tracks and old signs in the archive photograph are not access evidence.
Unconfirmed: a specific medical facility, individual rescue response, accessible evacuation and a complete safe final return are not established. Tell patrol or lift staff the exact piste or installation and your location, follow their instructions and agree any assistance before travel.
Historical: the slope-regulation PDF currently linked by the operator is the 2025/26 edition. Its warnings cover avalanche blasting, grooming winches and snowmaking equipment. The exact route closure table and evening-tour exceptions have not been verified for 2026/27; follow current signs and staff instructions rather than carrying old permissions forward.
Book the right village and agree assistance in advance
The official directories list schools in Bad Gastein and Bad Hofgastein, including Skischule Badgastein, Skischule Bad Hofgastein and Schischule Schlossalm. Rental entries include Sport FLEISS Schlossalmbahn, Top Rent Angertal and Bad Gastein providers. Arrange equipment fit, collection, instruction and return at the same practical base; a listing is not a booking or available stock.
The operator describes accessible Stubnerkogelbahn facilities and selected attractions, disabled parking, accessible toilets at valley and mountain stations and staff assistance. This does not establish a continuous adaptive skiing or evacuation service across both mountains. Unconfirmed: individual equipment compatibility, boarding limits, every transfer and guaranteed personal assistance are not established.
For the mountain railway the public contact is Gasteiner Bergbahnen AG, Bundesstraße 567, 5630 Bad Hofgastein, telephone +43 6432 6455. Ask about the selected base, seasonal restaurant/toilet/depot service, last boarding and evacuation requirements before payment. Unconfirmed: final opening hours and availability for every shop, depot and mountain service are not established.
Selected source-checked references only. Use the complete official plan for the network; this list is not the resort’s total piste count or live opening report.
04 / AT THE BASE
Facilities that change the day.
Operator directories distinguish schools in Bad Gastein and Bad Hofgastein and list rental services at Schlossalm, Angertal and Bad Gastein. The operator describes accessible Stubnerkogel cable-car facilities, parking and toilets; individual boarding and evacuation still require advance agreement. Restaurants, depots, lessons and equipment availability have separate bookings and seasonal hours.
