014MAPS / UNDERSTAND THE AREA
Explore mapped pistes and lifts, compare the official plans and choose the right starting base. Check current opening separately.
Colours show the published skiing status or confirmed operating calendar, not whether every lift is running. Check the operator before travel.
Confirmed dates change colours automatically in the place’s local time. Tentative dates, conflicting reports and expired checks remain black.
Unconfirmed: complete community-map coverage and a local grade for every mapped way. Community map for planning. Coverage may be incomplete. Grey pistes have no confirmed local grade. Check the official plan and current opening; mapped geometry does not grant access.
HOW THE AREA CONNECTS
Access: Kosciuszko Road or Skitube from Bullocks Flat.
Front Valley learning terrain, village services and lifts toward Mt Perisher.
Access: Road parking or the winter shuttle from Perisher Valley.
Designated beginner area with chair, surface-lift and conveyor infrastructure.
Access: Skitube via Perisher Valley or authorised open ski connections.
Higher alpine terrain around the terminal, with learning slopes and advanced areas.
Access: Guthega Road or authorised open ski connections.
Distinct village and lift network; plan the return before connecting lifts close.
Choose the actual arrival sector. Perisher Valley is reached by road or Skitube from Bullocks Flat; Guthega has a separate road approach, and Blue Cow is reached by Skitube or authorised ski links.
Front Valley and Smiggin Holes offer learning terrain. Blue Cow and Guthega have distinct bases and lift networks; use the whole-resort and detail plans together.
Plan the final connection to your actual base. Do not ski from Blue Cow to Guthega after lifts close; uphill access requires current operator confirmation.

Link checked01 / FIELD OVERVIEW
A practical guide to the four-area alpine resort, native official trail maps, Skitube and road arrival, ticket scope, local grades and adaptive planning. The Nordic network has a separate identity.
Four alpine areas and three inspected official trail maps
Skitube railway and separate national-park road access
Local five-level grading and individual adaptive planning
Perisher Valley, Smiggin Holes, Blue Cow and Guthega form one alpine resort in the Snowy Mountains. Ski connections depend on open terrain and lifts; the Nordic tracks and surrounding backcountry are separate activities. Smiggin Holes is the operator’s designated beginner area, while the other sectors include both learning and more demanding terrain.
The operator advertises 1,245 hectares and over 100 groomed trails. Those figures are not this directory’s inventory: only three selected named trails are counted here. The whole-resort artwork is marked 2026; the separate Guthega and Double Trouble/Devil’s Playground PDFs carry 2025 copyright and remain the operator’s linked detail maps.
The native legends use green for easiest, single blue for difficult, double blue for more difficult, single black for most difficult and double black for expert. These are relative local grades. Milk Run is green, Schnaxl single blue and Double Trouble single black. The last involves an advanced/expert traverse; the map recommends Pleasant View Trail for ordinary travel toward Guthega. No route length, current grooming or safe off-piste permission is inferred.
Historical: the photograph predates Mt Perisher 6. The advertised 45 lifts include a six-seat high-speed chair, an eight-seat high-speed chair, other chairs, T-bars, J-bars, conveyors and rope tows. The four Skitube trains are excluded from that lift total. The 2026 whole-resort map includes Mt Perisher 6; the photograph predates it and must not be used as a current infrastructure diagram.
Skitube links Bullocks Flat with Perisher Valley and Blue Cow. The operator describes roughly ten minutes to Perisher Valley and directs onward Blue Cow travellers to change trains there. Use the actual train and lift reports, rather than assuming every sector can be reached on skis.
Historical: the lift snapshot described here is dated 28 October 2026. Unconfirmed: a dated 2027 train/lift service. On 28 October the lift report showed zero open and 45 closed. Its retained individual operating hours, and the timetable page’s late-train notes, do not establish a dated 2027 service. In particular, skiing or riding from Blue Cow to Guthega after lifts close is prohibited. Allow time for the authorised return and ask staff if a connection changes.
Conflicting sources: the operator’s season-wrap article dated 25 September 2026 calls that day the final day of winter. Its snow report updated on 26 September at 07:59 also describes its report day as the last day, retaining Village 8 and Front Valley Conveyor operations and a 16:30 finish. These sources differ by one day, so no single exact final day is asserted here. Both describe the 2026 ski season as finished; the separately inspected lift report showed zero open and 45 closed lifts on 6 November 2026. Retained individual lift times do not establish a 2027 service or a complete last return.
Jindabyne is the main road gateway. Bullocks Flat offers advertised free day and overnight parking for Skitube users; the operator states that park-use fees are included when travelling aboard the train. Direct road arrival at Perisher, Smiggins or Guthega has limited day parking and a separate national-park entry requirement. The inspected NSW winter tariff is AUD 29 per vehicle per day; check the current tariff and any eligible concession before travel.
NSW guidance requires two-wheel-drive vehicles to carry correctly fitting chains between the June and October long weekends on the specified Kosciuszko Road, Alpine Way and Guthega Road sections. Four-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive vehicles are exempt from compulsory carriage but chains are recommended. Winter tyres do not remove the obligation for a two-wheel-drive vehicle. Fit chains when signs or authorised officers direct, use chain bays and follow the vehicle instructions.
Unconfirmed: the 2027 bus/shuttle timetable and each visitor’s complete accessible journey. Check Live Traffic, park alerts and parking-capacity signs before climbing. The retained winter bus and free Perisher–Smiggins shuttle information is not a confirmed 2027 timetable. For an assisted journey, agree accessible vehicle space, the terminal entrance and boarding method, equipment transfer and the final lesson meeting point with the actual providers. General station amenities and adaptive services do not establish a continuous step-free route.
Unconfirmed: a dated 2027 day-ticket quote. The operator describes single-day and multi-day tickets as access for specified dates, with night skiing generally sold separately. That is product-scope information, not an accepted 2027 price. The actual lift-ticket shop link redirected to the shop homepage during this check; no dated 2027 day-ticket quote was available. Do not use an older fare or divide the season-pass price into a supposed day rate.
Historical: the pass offer described here was checked on 28 October 2026; it does not establish ski-season dates. On 28 October the 2027 Epic Australia Pass was advertised at AUD 1,169, with AUD 49 upfront and the remaining payment due under the offer’s 3 May 2027 terms. It covers the Australian season at Perisher, Falls Creek and Hotham, with separate overseas benefits and conditions. It is not a Perisher-only day ticket and its sale does not confirm opening dates.
Unconfirmed: next-season adaptive eligibility and the exact additional product charges. The inspected shop lists a separate 2027 Skitube add-on for eligible passholders travelling from Bullocks Flat. Confirm the exact product, travel entitlement and any card, lesson, rental or companion charge before paying. The adaptive page retains 2026 pass wording alongside concession information; establish next-season eligibility rather than assuming every earlier offer carries forward.
Follow closures, resort boundaries and slow zones, keep control and prevent runaway skis or boards. Toboggans are prohibited on ski slopes. Mapped black terrain and an existing track do not establish safe access; seek suitable local instruction or guidance and check current conditions.
Conflicting sources: the May 2018 uphill document gives both 08:30 and 08:00 clearance limits. Historical: this is version 1.0, dated May 2018. The operator-hosted uphill policy is version 1.0 dated May 2018. It says access is outside public operating hours, from 17:00 to 08:30, but also requires all users clear by 08:00. That internal conflict is unresolved. Obtain current permission and timing before setting out; this guide does not grant an 08:30 departure. The document excludes closed runs, advanced black terrain and park features, warns of winch cables and machinery, and states that trails are not patrolled outside normal operations.
Unconfirmed: out-of-season Ski Patrol staffing. Perisher Ski Patrol’s own page lists dispatch on 02 6459 4666 from 08:00 to 17:00 throughout winter, and 000 at all other times. The resort amenities page also directs emergencies to 000. Those winter dispatch hours do not promise out-of-season staffing. Alert nearby resort staff during operations and give your actual sector and location; the locality pin is not an emergency meeting point.
Historical: the amenities page retains June 2026 and peak-winter hours. Unconfirmed: current summer service availability. Guest Services are listed at the lower Perisher Centre, lower Smiggins Hotel/Arcade and Bullocks Flat terminal. Rental locations include Perisher Valley, Smiggin Holes and Bullocks Flat. The Perisher Valley terminal has medical and family facilities, but the amenities page retains peak-winter and June 2026 opening information. Confirm hours directly; do not treat those listings as current summer availability.
Conflicting sources: DWA and Perisher describe concession scope differently. Perisher offers private adaptive lessons, while DWA provides member equipment and volunteer guide support. DWA’s Perisher page asks guests to book a qualified instructor in advance and submit a separate adaptive-equipment request. Its concession wording specifies full-day or three-hour morning DWA private lessons, while Perisher’s page describes discounts more broadly. Confirm the actual lesson and eligibility before purchase.
Unconfirmed: an individual accessible route and suitable support for every lift. Contact DWA on 1300 265 730 for equipment and guide arrangements. Its Perisher page lists privates@perisher.com.au for specialist lesson enquiries; general resort enquiries go through the official Help Centre. Agree lift loading, support-person needs, equipment fit and arrival transfers for the individual visitor. No general accessibility rating or guarantee for every lift is established.
Selected source-checked references only. Use the complete official plan for the network; this list is not the resort’s total piste count or live opening report.
