Colours show the published skiing status or confirmed operating calendar, not whether every lift is running. Check the operator before travel.
Confirmed dates change colours automatically in the place’s local time. Tentative dates, conflicting reports and expired checks remain black.
Independent ODbL community geometry covers the managed Mt Buller downhill corridors around Bourke Street, the northern slopes and the southern lift bowls. Separate Mt Stirling, summit hiking, backcountry and unmarked extreme lines are outside this scope. The two inconsistently typed Canyon tow alignments and unlisted Happy Feet carrier are omitted, as is the ambiguous Summit Nature Walk/downhill way. Generic OSM difficulty remains grey; community way segments are not the operator’s piste or lift inventory. The snapshot uses the canonical OSM API HTTP response Date, not an Overpass replication timestamp. Unconfirmed: the accessible operator map page contains interactive winter views and a trail-map download, but the artwork edition, exact geometry comparison and preview or reproduction rights are not established. No operator artwork is copied or embedded. Geometry does not establish opening, grooming, legal access, avalanche safety, navigation or a complete return.
Access: Village-side Bourke Street Express and ABOM Express serve different beginner and connecting corridors.
Use the appropriate lesson base and open local grade; the village pin is not a boarding or meeting-point guarantee.
02
Northern slopes
Access: Northside Express, Summit and Grimus are operator-listed facilities with distinct routes and hours.
Unconfirmed: current open connections and a complete final return from every northern sector are not established.
03
Southern bowls
Access: Wombat, Federation, Bull Run and Southside serve separate southern corridors.
Steeper local terrain requires suitable ability and the correct open return lift; a mapped line does not establish access.
01
Start: choose the village or your parking transfer
Bourke Street is above the village; Horse Hill day parking uses a shuttle, while overnight parking needs a booked Ride Share. Confirm the precise rental outlet and lesson meeting point.
02
Connect: distinguish northern and southern terrain
ABOM Express, Northside Express, Summit and the southern bowl lifts serve separate corridors. Use the actual open local routes and ask staff about every required connection; the retained lift table is historical.
03
Return: work back from the last required connection
Unconfirmed: final skier boarding, downloading rights and a complete return are not established. Confirm all lifts or descents, rental return and the last booked bus or parking transfer before crossing sectors.
Choose the correct base, pass and open return connections. Road entry, chain requirements, day-carpark shuttles and overnight transfers are separate parts of the journey; Mt Stirling is a separate destination.

Village beginners and two mountain faces
Mt Buller is a managed alpine ski area in Victoria, with its village at the foot of Bourke Street and downhill terrain on northern and southern faces. The operator advertises more than 300 hectares of skiable terrain and a network of 19 lifts. These are operator descriptions, separate from the community map’s line segments. Nearby Mt Stirling is a separate destination and is excluded from this guide.
The operator describes Bourke Street and Burnt Hut Spur as local green beginner runs. Little Buller Spur, Wombat and Family Run are intermediate blue examples; Federation and the southern bowls include advanced black terrain. Follow the local signs and choose an open route suited to your ability. Local grades are not a universal conversion of OSM difficulty.
Unconfirmed: the operator says lifts will restart on the King’s Birthday weekend in 2027, but exact first and final skiing dates, individual 2027 lift hours and a complete final return are not established. Season membership sales and summer activities do not confirm skiing.
Historical: Steve Bennett’s 9 July 2007 photograph shows the Mt Buller village square and clock tower. It does not establish today’s snow, buildings, lift layout or accessible routes.
The village-side Bourke Street Express and ABOM Express serve different corridors. The operator describes access towards Baldy and Burnt Hut Spur via ABOM Express, while Little Buller Spur and Wombat lead towards the Wombat lift. The northern side includes Northside Express, Summit and Grimus; the southern side has several separate bowls and return lifts. A named connection is a planning description, not proof that it is open.
Historical: the lift table was last updated on 6 September 2026 at 17:17. It lists all 19 lifts closed and different nominal operating hours; these are not confirmed 2027 skier timetables or final boarding times.
Historical: the retained September table lists Bourke Street Express at 08:30–17:00, ABOM Express at 08:30–16:45, Northside Express at 10:00–16:00, and Grimus and Summit at 09:00–16:30. Other facilities have their own times. Do not use the latest-closing lift or the village shuttle as the return deadline for every sector.
Unconfirmed: the last usable lift sequence, permission to download with ski equipment, and a complete return from every northern or southern sector to your starting point are not established. Ask patrol or lift staff about all required open descents and connections before leaving your base.
Approach Mt Buller through Mansfield and Mirimbah. The operator describes a drive of approximately three hours from Melbourne, subject to traffic and alpine conditions. During the declared snow season, vehicles entering Mt Buller or Mt Stirling need resort entry; the dashboard pass should be printed and displayed. Resort entry is distinct from a ski lift ticket.
All vehicles must carry suitable diamond-pattern wheel chains during the declared snow season. Fit them only when instructed by signs or resort staff, using a designated bay, and learn the correct fitment for your vehicle before travel. The operator says ladder chains, spider chains and wheel socks do not meet its entry requirements; a trailer cannot be towed when chains must be fitted.
The free Carpark Shuttle connects day carparks with the village and carries day packs and ski equipment, but not additional luggage. Overnight carparks require a separately booked Ride Share for passengers and luggage. The Ski School, Summit Road and Stirling Road village loops serve different stops; photograph your parking location and confirm the correct return service.
Historical: the retained winter transport pages list Carpark Shuttle 08:00–18:00, extended to 21:00 on Wednesday and Saturday twilight days in July and August, village shuttles 08:00–22:00 and Ride Share 07:00–midnight. Unconfirmed: dated 2027 bus timetables, final departures and a complete return to off-mountain accommodation are not established. Book both directions and allow time for equipment return.
The disability page describes wheelchair-accessible day shuttles and a bookable accessible Ride Share. Contact staff at Mirimbah to arrange suitable parking and confirm the exact vehicle, assistance, pickup and accommodation route before travel. Snow and ice can affect surfaces; a listed accessible facility does not establish an uninterrupted step-free journey.
Skier and snowboarder lift tickets are loaded onto a B-TAG and are separate from sightseeing tickets, road entry, parking transfers, rentals and lessons. The retained ticket page describes full-day validity to 17:00, afternoon validity from 13:00, and separate twilight sessions from 17:00–20:30 on Wednesday and Saturday in July and August when operating. These product descriptions do not guarantee any particular lift or date.
The inspected 2027 summer-sale membership page lists AUD 1,329 for adults aged 25–64, AUD 789 for ages 5–18 and AUD 1,039 for ages 19–24 or 65–69. Its midweek product lists AUD 1,079 for adults aged 25–64 and access Monday–Friday. These are the operator’s advertised prices checked on 5 November, not a reservation, guaranteed availability or a full tariff.
The full 2027 membership advertises twilight access during July and August; the midweek version specifies Wednesday sessions. An All-Season upgrade and international Ikon add-on have separate scope, season validity, restrictions and terms. Do not infer access to other Australian resorts from a Mt Buller membership.
Unconfirmed: complete 2027 day prices, actual lift schedules, final boarding and individual refund or replacement eligibility are not established. Check your exact age category, travel date, inclusions, protection-plan option and applicable purchase terms before paying. The day-ticket age categories differ from season-membership categories.
Use open terrain and the correct emergency service
Follow closures, local grades, signs and patrol instructions. Prepare for changing visibility, wind, cold and icy walking surfaces; carry suitable clothing and check the mountain report before travel. An open road, summer activity or community map line does not grant permission to ski or enter closed terrain.
The operator recommends helmets for skiing and snowboarding and requires accredited helmets for children in Ski & Snowboard School lessons and seasonal programmes. Ask the rental outlet to confirm fit and the equipment included in your package. Choose terrain and instruction appropriate to your ability.
For an emergency call 000; the operator lists Ski Patrol on 03 5777 7808. Its medical-services page lists the Mt Buller Medical Centre on 03 5777 6912 and describes fee-charging treatment and ambulance costs. Unconfirmed: the clinic’s actual 2027 seasonal staffing, hours, individual treatment and transport arrangements are not established. Do not rely on a retained winter services page as confirmation that a clinic is currently open.
This guide excludes Mt Stirling touring, unmarked extreme lines and backcountry. Community geometry is not a navigation or rescue plan, and no uphill or after-hours access permission is established. Confirm any separate activity with the responsible land manager and follow current restrictions.
Arrange equipment, lessons and assistance at the right base
The operator lists several on-mountain and off-mountain rental outlets, including Buller Sports locations at Horse Hill, the village and Mansfield, as well as independent stores and tuning services. Confirm where you collect, fit and return equipment, the final return time and whether a change of outlet is accepted. Rental availability does not imply that the ski area is operating.
The Ski & Snowboard School separates ski-only Bunyips for ages 3–6, Buller Kids for ages 7–14 and adult or teen lessons from age 15. Private lessons and seasonal programmes have separate conditions. Verify the appropriate ability group, booking, lift-ticket inclusions, helmet and meeting place before purchasing.
The village offers visitor information, food, groceries, public toilets and accommodation. These services have individual seasonal hours; village opening does not establish winter lifts or ski access. The operator’s central visitor contact is 1800 BULLER; resort enquiries are listed on the official pages. Use the relevant booking provider for changes to a reservation.
Unconfirmed: individual adaptive lesson availability, equipment suitability and the complete assisted route from parking to accommodation, lesson meeting point and lift boarding are not established. Agree the specific arrangements with the resort, provider and Disabled Wintersport Australia before travel.
Selected source-checked references only. Use the complete official plan for the network; this list is not the resort’s total piste count or live opening report.

On-mountain and off-mountain rentals and tuning have individual seasonal hours. Separate ski-school age groups, private lessons and adaptive arrangements require the exact booking. Village visitor services, accommodation and medical listings do not establish current winter operation.
