Colours show the published skiing status or confirmed operating calendar, not whether every lift is running. Check the operator before travel.

Confirmed dates change colours automatically in the place’s local time. Tentative dates, conflicting reports and expired checks remain black.

The operator’s piste-plan page provides a winter-map reference. Historical: the page references a piste image named 2022; a current artwork edition is unconfirmed. Unconfirmed: a current operator artwork edition and lawful inline-preview permission remain unverified; the ordinary operator map page is linked separately and no operator artwork is reproduced. This independent ODbL map covers named community downhill alignments and four passenger-lift alignments around the beginner base, La Covatilla chair and Canchal Negro sector. Natural-slope and unidentified ways, private, proposed, disused, technical and backcountry features are excluded. Community labels are not verified current operator identities, and generic difficulty tags remain grey. Segments are not a resort inventory or evidence of opening, grooming, patrol, access or safe return. The snapshot clock is the canonical OSM API HTTP response Date, not an Overpass replication timestamp.

HOW THE AREA CONNECTS

Understand the sectors.

01

Beginner base

Access: Lower learning area with community-mapped drag lift and conveyor.

Confirm the open area and beginner-pass scope.

02

La Covatilla chair sector

Access: Published TSF4 connection toward the 2250 m facility.

Current operation and an appropriate return must be confirmed.

03

Canchal Negro sector

Access: Published upper surface lift beyond the chair return facility.

Confirm actual access and a signed suitable descent before ascending.

01

Start at the La Hoya mountain base

Use the DSA-180 station access from the SA-100 junction near La Hoya. The operator places ticketing and information at its lower 2000 m facility, with rental and the school nearby. Confirm the open beginner area, the correct pass, fitting and your meeting point before boarding. The location pin is not a verified accessible entrance.

02

Separate learning slopes from the upper sector

The operator separates the beginner base from the La Covatilla chair and the Canchal Negro lift above its 2250 m facility. The independent community map shows those alignments without proving operation or a suitable connection. Ask staff which signed open descent suits your group before moving higher; natural-slope routes and unverified shortcuts are omitted.

03

Confirm the descent and ride home before going up

Unconfirmed: current final boarding, passenger descent, a safe signed return and a dated public shuttle are not established. Agree a suitable way back, equipment hand-back and your own ride down before ascending. The retained 17:00 rental deadline is not a last-lift time or a guarantee of open facilities.

Separate beginner and upper-sector planning

DSA-180 mountain-base arrival

Independent scoped community map

Choose the beginner base before the upper mountain

Sierra de Béjar–La Covatilla is a managed alpine ski and snowboard area above La Hoya in Salamanca, in Spain’s Sistema Central. The operator separates the beginner area and snow-play park at the base from the La Covatilla chairlift and the higher Canchal Negro surface-lift sector. This guide covers managed skiing, not a touring ascent or a route into surrounding natural terrain.

The facilities page places ticketing, information and food services at its published 2000 m level, and a terrace, aid post, chairlift return station and Canchal Negro departure at 2250 m. These are the operator’s facility descriptions; they do not establish which installations are operating. Start with staff advice on a signed open area that suits your ability and the pass you hold.

Unconfirmed: a current operator inventory and exact matches between community trail labels, local grades and available runs have not been established. The independent map retains selected named managed-area alignments in grey, without converting generic OSM difficulties to piste colours. Natural-slope, unidentified and specialist routes are omitted; mapped segments are not an official piste count, a patrol boundary or proof of open skiing.

Historical: the genuine base photograph was taken on 23 June 2019 in summer. Its buildings, parking and lift alignment are context only, not evidence of current snow, operating clearance or today’s access.

Keep the March timetable separate from current skiing

The operator identifies the four-seat fixed-grip TSF4 La Covatilla chairlift at the base and the TQ Canchal Negro surface lift at the upper facility. Community geometry also records a beginner drag lift and conveyor near the lower learning slopes. Treat those mapped alignments as orientation, and confirm actual boarding, operating clearance and suitable terrain with staff before buying upper-mountain access.

Historical: the hours notice explicitly applies from 23 March 2026. It lists skiing from 09:30 to 16:30, with Debutantes I, II, III and IV and the final section of El Cerrojo open. Its service rows and weekend food-service extensions belong to that notice; they are not a current November operating report.

Unconfirmed: the homepage’s 5 December season-start sentence has no year, so it does not establish a 2026/27 opening date or current skiing. Current chairlift operation, final boarding, permission to descend as a passenger and the last safe return are not verified. Confirm each of these before ascending; an upper station shown on a map is not a guaranteed route down.

Use the La Hoya access road and arrange the complete return

The official contact address is Paraje La Covatilla s/n, 37716 La Hoya, Salamanca. The provincial road catalogue identifies DSA-180 as the 9.50 km access from the SA-100 junction near La Hoya to the ski station. This distinguishes the mountain base from Béjar town and from the separate El Travieso road; a general mountain destination is not the same arrival point.

The operator’s practical advice describes private-car arrival and asks visitors to allow time for rental and lessons. Check the actual road restrictions and weather before departure, follow roadside instructions and keep access for service and emergency vehicles. Plan equipment collection, ticketing and your ride back together; do not assume a map pin identifies an accessible entrance or a place where stopping is allowed.

Unconfirmed: a dated public shuttle, its pickup, fare and last return, current road opening, chain requirements and guaranteed parking availability have not been verified. Confirm the day’s access and your own return directly. Step-free movement from parking through ticketing, rental and boarding, and an appropriate assisted return, need individual confirmation.

Separate day, beginner, lesson and snow-play products

The published tariff table distinguishes an adult day pass at €29 in high season and €20 in low season, partial-opening or promotion rows at €20/€18, and a €15 beginner-area product. These are undated published price references, not a binding offer for the next winter. The pass FAQ says a beginner product is limited to that area, while a season pass covers only areas actually operating.

Unconfirmed: the tariff table’s season validity, high/low/promotional calendar and year of the 10 December advance-purchase deadline are not established. Confirm your date, age or concession evidence, available lifts and total price before payment. The child/disability grouping is a tariff category, not a promise of individual boarding access or suitability. Lessons and rental are separate from the lift pass; the snow-play ticket does not grant ski-piste access.

The pass FAQ describes dated tickets for their selected day and collection using the purchase QR code at the dispenser beside customer service. Its under-six product is obtained at the ticket office with age evidence. The linked general conditions describe personal, non-transferable passes, weather or technical closures and restrictive refund terms; read the applicable checkout terms before purchase rather than assuming a refund for partial opening.

Conflicting sources: the pass FAQ instructs visitors to keep the pass alone in a left-side pocket, while the linked general conditions describe a visible pass, preferably on a neck support. Ask ticket staff how the actual issued card must be carried. Published insurance references do not establish your individual cover, exclusions or rescue entitlement.

Follow closures and the day’s specifically authorised routes

The operator’s practical advice and linked FIS rules require controlled speed, consideration for people downhill, attention at junctions, compliance with signs and lift-staff instructions, and stopping away from narrow or hidden places. Its general conditions distinguish prepared, marked open slopes from uncontrolled terrain beyond them. Snow tracks do not prove stability; the operator specifically warns that little snow and gentle slopes do not remove avalanche risk.

The published skimo and snowshoe rules permit ascent only on specifically signed routes announced in the daily snow report, in single file outside their special markings and under staff instructions. No currently open uphill route is established here. The snow-play park has its own permitted equipment and separate walking/descent areas; its ticket and signs do not grant access to ski runs. This guide and map authorise no touring, off-piste or natural-slope itinerary.

Conflicting sources: the practical-advice page calls helmets compulsory for children, while the rental FAQ says they are not compulsory and the school FAQ strongly recommends them. Wear a suitable helmet and ask staff which rule applies to your child and activity; do not treat the less restrictive wording as permission.

Unconfirmed: today’s patrol coverage, directly staffed emergency number, accessible evacuation and final safe descent are not verified. The operator tells visitors to alert piste rescuers promptly, and describes aid facilities at the base and upper level; these are not proof they are staffed today. Obtain the actual day’s emergency contact and return arrangements before boarding, and never use this map for emergency navigation.

Arrange equipment, instruction and assistance at the base

The facilities page lists ski and snowboard rental, a repair workshop and storage in the rental building, with the school, reservation desk and aid centre at the slope-side building. Ticketing, information, a cafeteria/self-service restaurant and mountain shop are listed at the lower facility. The school offers instruction for adults and children; its FAQ says a lesson does not include the pass or rental. Allow time for fitting and the agreed meeting place.

The rental FAQ describes in-person hire, ski equipment as skis, boots and poles, and snowboard equipment as board and boots; helmets are listed separately. The rental conditions require identification and a credit card, describe fitting and technical support, and require equipment back before 17:00 on the last hire day. That retained deadline is not the day’s last lift or a promise of current opening; agree your actual hand-back time before skiing.

The contact page lists +34 923 700 002 with customer-service hours of 09:00–16:00 and separate municipal-domain administration, school and information addresses. The site footer separately lists +34 923 748 000 and info@sierradebejar-lacovatilla.com. Keep these contact scopes distinct: neither number is verified here as a continuously staffed piste emergency line.

Unconfirmed: current rental and lesson prices, availability of suitable sizes, facility opening and individual assistance are not verified. Ask about accessible toilets, adaptive equipment, help with boarding and the entire return chain before booking. A disability fare or a family-oriented description does not itself establish step-free access or safe evacuation.
