A many-sided alpine mountain above Brunico, with access from Riscone, Perca and Olang and a linked San Vigilio–Piculin sector. The summit is shared, but your return base and the difficulty of its valley descent matter.

Colours show the published skiing status or confirmed operating calendar, not whether every lift is running. Check the operator before travel.
Confirmed dates change colours automatically in the place’s local time. Tentative dates, conflicting reports and expired checks remain black.
Community geometry for the connected Kronplatz–San Vigilio–Piculin alpine network. It omits the replaced Kronplatz 1+2 alignments and new Dolomiti chair; some names and refs are older. Unmatched/conflicting pistes are grey. Isolated village hills, bus/train transfers and touring/off-piste terrain are excluded. Source segments are not an official inventory, opening report or navigation.
Access: Kronplatz 1+2 and Kronplatz 2000 rise from Riscone; Ried starts beside Perca railway station.
These are different valley destinations. Sylvester and Herrnegg are locally black; Ried is locally red on the current plan.
02
Olang / Valdaora and the summit
Access: Olang 1+2 starts at Gassl; upper gondolas and chairs serve the summit-side pistes.
Blue and red upper pistes do not mean that every valley descent is suitable for a novice.
03
Furcia, San Vigilio and Piculin
Access: Ruis, Pre da Peres, Rara, Col Toron and Miara form the San Vigilio side; Skitrans Bronta connects to the Pedaga/Piz de Plaies side.
Piculin is a locally black descent to its separate lower base. Alta Badia requires a surface transfer; it is not a continuous Kronplatz piste.
01
Choose a starting valley
Riscone has Kronplatz 1+2 and Kronplatz 2000; Perca/Ried adjoins the railway; Gassl serves Olang. Miara and Pedaga/Piz de Plaies have different San Vigilio meeting points. Confirm your school, parking or rail base before boarding.
02
Understand the southern connections
The summit links the Riscone, Perca and Olang sides. Furcia/Ruis and the Col Toron–Miara side lead towards San Vigilio; Skitrans Bronta connects across to Pedaga/Piz de Plaies. Alta Badia and 3 Zinnen require a separate bus or train transfer.
03
Plan the return before changing sector
Confirm the open route to your own base and every final connecting lift. Riscone’s Sylvester and Herrnegg and the Piculin descent are locally black. Ask staff about permitted gondola descent if needed, and check the last public-transport return separately.

Several valley bases with different return demands

Rail access at Perca and an external official 2026/27 plan
A shared summit and several distinct valley returns
Kronplatz / Plan de Corones is an alpine area centred on the 2,275 m summit. The official 2026/27 plan distinguishes Riscone/Reischach, Perca/Percha, Gassl/Olang and San Vigilio/St. Vigil, with Piculin beyond the Piz de Plaies sector. It also depicts isolated village ski hills elsewhere in the region. Those peripheral hills, Nordic trails and the separate Alta Badia and 3 Zinnen areas are outside this connected-mountain profile.
The inspected plan uses blue for easy, red for medium and black for difficult pistes. Plateau 6 is blue, Gassl 21 red and Sylvester 1 black. These three names are selected references only. They are not the complete resort inventory. In particular, the black Sylvester/Herrnegg descents to Riscone and black Piculin descent must not be treated as easy returns merely because easier terrain is available higher up.
The current slope page shows 0% open at the 28 October check. The planned winter calendar and historical photograph do not override that report. Use the original plan, the live report and local signs together; a community map cannot confirm grooming, snow cover or permission to enter a piste.
Winter installations and summer status are separate
The connected area uses circulating gondolas and chairlifts. Riscone has Kronplatz 1+2 and Kronplatz 2000, Perca the Ried gondola, and Gassl the two Olang stages. The southern connections include Ruis, Pre da Peres, Rara, Col Toron and Miara, with Skitrans Bronta linking towards Pedaga and Piz de Plaies. Check the correct direction and open connecting lifts before changing valley.
The winter status table currently marks Kronplatz 2000 open at 09:00–17:00 while the ski pistes remain closed; the general operating page explicitly labels these as summer 2026 hours. Other table rows show winter times, blanks and an invalid 80:30 Piz de Plaies start. Do not silently correct that entry or assume that a displayed hour establishes current winter service.
The actual 2026/27 map has two timetable periods, 28 November–30 January and 31 January–11 April, with installation-specific changes. For example, Kronplatz 1 starts at 08:30 then 08:15; its listed end remains 16:40. The table also contains public buses and a train, plus remote village lifts. Its row count or 3% indicator is not the connected resort lift inventory. Confirm final boarding and permitted downhill carriage with staff.
Historical: a scoped source check on 2 November 2026 found the official piste page reporting 0% pistes open with closed piste rows. An open gondola does not establish skiing. The independent map observation expires within 24 hours; this dated snapshot does not guarantee a later operating state.
Choose your base and verify the winter transport edition
Ticket-office addresses give useful base references: Via Funivia 10 in Riscone, Via Stazione 2 in Perca, Gassl 23 in Olang, and separate Miara, Pedaga/Piz de Plaies and Piculin offices. The official plan marks parking and the Perca rail connection. A base address or map pin does not reserve parking, establish a fee, or verify a step-free route to boarding.
The Ski Pustertal Express page describes a roughly 35-minute connection between Perca/Ried and Versciaco/Helm. It says the rail fare is separate from the ski pass, with a qualifying Guest Pass or regular validated ticket required. The older general lift text instead says half an hour. Confirm the actual dated departure, changes and last return with Südtirolmobil rather than planning around either approximate duration.
The Piculin–Sompunt bus is described as every 20 minutes, but the dedicated mobility page requires a Guest Pass, Südtirolmobil Pass or paid ticket, while the general lift page describes access with Dolomiti Superski. The native 2026/27 plan also labels the bus free. These differing statements are unresolved; do not assume that the ski pass pays the fare. The regional bus index still links 2025/26 village timetables. Verify 2026/27 dates and ticket validity before travel. Individual adapted equipment, assistance, snow-surface approach and a complete accessible transfer chain remain to be arranged with the provider.
The current local 2026/27 table quotes an adult Kronplatz day pass at EUR 75 for 28 November–19 December, 10–30 January and 14 March–11 April, and EUR 83 for 20 December–9 January and 31 January–13 March. These are the displayed local day-ticket tariffs checked on 28 October, not a booking guarantee. Afternoon products start at 12:00. Dolomiti Superski is a separate wider-area product with different rates and a different March high-season boundary.
The local table labels juniors as born 2009–2018 and seniors as born 1961 or earlier. It states a linked free-child offer for birth years 2019–2023 when one accompanying adult buys a qualifying pass for the same period at the same time, one child per adult, with product exclusions. Do not apply this automatically to other birth years or season/value products. Present proof and confirm the exact eligible product at the office.
The advertised Kronplatz calendar is 28 November–11 April, while the general contract defines an ordinary 4 December–4 April season and separate wider acceptance on individually operating facilities. Neither guarantees every lift or piste throughout those dates. Check current restrictions before buying. Insurance and public-transport fares are separate. Reduced-rate or assistance arrangements must be confirmed individually; do not infer a concession or accessible journey from a ticket category.
The operator explicitly prohibits ski touring on Kronplatz both during the day and in the evening. Its warning closes pistes from 17:00 to 08:30 for grooming, snowmobiles and snowmaking, and states that all pistes are closed to everyone after the lifts close. Respect barriers, signs and staff instructions. This alpine guide and any downloadable geometry supply no off-piste or uphill permission.
The operator requires helmets for everyone and valid third-party liability insurance, with proof carried alongside the ski pass. Its insurance page says cover is not included in the pass and directs purchases to the insurer rather than the ticket office. Check actual policy benefits and exclusions; do not assume mountain rescue or every accident cost is covered. Skiing under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited.
For an accident, call 112 or alert a lift station, restaurant or ski-pass office, stating your precise piste, sector and location. The warning page also lists piste first aid at +39 0474 553327. The rescue service describes monitoring of marked open slopes, with a summit base at Kron Restaurant and additional sector posts; it lists EUR 275 for first aid and injured-person transport. This is not a promise of free rescue, coverage outside opened pistes or individual medical suitability.
Arrange the correct school, rental and meeting point
The operator directories list ski schools and rental services in several villages. Select the actual base and discipline rather than assume all entries are on the connected mountain: the regional directory also includes Nordic and outlying providers. Confirm equipment size and fitting, lesson language, meeting point, collection/return hours and separate charges directly with the selected school or shop.
The winter ticket-office page provides separate telephone numbers and current planned hours. Riscone and Perca list +39 0474 548225, Olang +39 0474 592035, and Miara +39 0474 501340; Pedaga/Piz de Plaies hours are still to be defined. General Skirama enquiries are +39 0474 551500. These are information contacts, not substitutes for emergency 112. An individual assisted transfer, boarding arrangement or adaptive lesson has not been verified and needs advance agreement.
