Plan Kalavrita’s managed ski area on Mount Chelmos with an independent community map, base and upper-sector orientation, arrival and ticket advice, and clear limits on current skiing, historical prices and the final return.
099MAPS / UNDERSTAND THE AREA
Explore the independent community map and practical starting bases. Read the coverage limits and check current opening and access with the operator.
Colours show the published skiing status or confirmed operating calendar, not whether every lift is running. Check the operator before travel.
Confirmed dates change colours automatically in the place’s local time. Tentative dates, conflicting reports and expired checks remain black.
The operator’s skiing-status page provides a map reference. Unconfirmed: the printed edition and lawful remote display basis of the operator’s piste artwork have not been verified; the ordinary operator map page is linked separately and no operator preview is reproduced. The independently licensed community map covers named passenger-lift alignments and downhill lines/areas around the lower base, middle area and upper Chelmos ski sectors. Shaded piste polygons are areas, never descents along their perimeter; overlapping community features are not a piste inventory. Greek community labels are not a current operator-plan comparison. No source colour is accepted, so descent features remain grey. Technical, private, proposed, disused and backcountry/freeride objects are excluded. This is not a current opening, grooming, patrol, access or safe-return guarantee. The snapshot time is the canonical OSM API HTTP response Date, not an Overpass replication timestamp.
HOW THE AREA CONNECTS
Access: Operator-listed Chalet, rental and schools near parking.
Confirm the day’s learning area and appropriate pass.
Access: Community Achilleas and Daphne alignments; published higher Cantina.
Confirm actual open connections and the entire return.
Access: Community Thetis, Artemis and Styga passenger alignments.
Use only signed open terrain appropriate to your ability.
The operator places the Chalet, shop, rental and schools at the lower base near parking. Confirm today’s open learning area, school meeting point, equipment and ticket scope before boarding. The community point indicates the base area; it is not a verified accessible entrance.
Community geometry places Achilleas and Daphne between the lower and middle areas, then Thetis, Artemis and Styga higher up. The facility terms direct beginners to Ermis and Iraklis. Ask staff for the actual signed open connection and suitable descent; community names and geometry do not confirm operation or safe access.
Unconfirmed: the current final lift, passenger download, signed return and dated bus are not established. Agree a suitable descent, equipment hand-back and ride home at the base. The undated 15:45 bus and retained 16:00 facility hours are not a current last-return promise.

Kalavrita Ski Resort is the managed alpine and snowboard area on Mount Chelmos, distinct from Kalavrita town and the wider mountain backcountry. Begin at the lower base, where the operator places its chalet, equipment rental and schools. The published terrain information distinguishes learning areas from the higher slopes; choose the day’s signed open terrain with staff rather than treating a mountain photograph or a map line as permission to ski.
Conflicting sources: the undated activity page advertises eight lifts and thirteen slopes over 25 km, while the operating page presents seven named lift rows, thirteen named piste rows and a separate SnowPark. Its older lift table calls Achilleas a three-seater, whereas the status page calls Achilles a ten-seat gondola and Styx a six-seat aerial lift. These are retained operator claims, not a verified current inventory; the independent map’s features are not a piste count.
The independent community map separates named passenger-lift alignments, downhill lines and shaded piste areas. A shaded polygon represents a mapped area: its edge is not a descent. Community Greek names and generic difficulty tags do not establish an exact current operator match or a universal colour grade. All descent geometry remains grey; inspect local signs and ask which open route is appropriate for your ability.
Historical: Petrogel’s genuine 27 January 2012 photograph shows snowy Mount Chelmos and its observatory surroundings. It is mountain context, not a current view of the resort base, an approved observatory approach or evidence of open pistes, snow conditions or safe access.
The operating page names Hermes, Achilles, Daphne, Hercules, Thetis, Artemis and Styx. The community source places Achilleas and Daphne between the lower base and the middle area, with Thetis, Artemis and Styga serving higher alignments and two short learning lifts at different levels. These names help orientation only. Confirm actual boarding points, permitted users and the day’s signed connections before moving between sectors.
The published facility terms direct beginners to Ermis and Iraklis and require instruction before using an unfamiliar lift. They require minors to be accompanied by adults, compliance with boarding staff and the chair restraint where applicable. The older terms also contain equipment-specific boarding instructions; ask staff for the rules applying to the actual lift and your equipment, especially for snowboarders and visitors without skis.
Unconfirmed: current skiing, each lift’s availability, exact 2026/27 season dates and final boarding or passenger download are not established. The status page retrieved on 2 November still labels its columns 1 and 2 November; the text legend alone does not identify the state of an individual row. The map and sightseeing tickets cannot confirm skiing. Agree an appropriate signed descent and the complete return before going higher.
The operator’s contact page gives the destination as Kalavrita–Chelmos, postcode 250 01, and publishes approach distances of 189 km from Athens and 88 km from Patras. Use those as the operator’s general journey references, not a timed route or a road-opening report. The community lower-base point is separate from Kalavrita town; check the actual road, parking instructions, weather and required vehicle equipment before departing.
The status service lists separate road corridors including Kalavrita–resort, Pounta–Kalavrita and Peristera–resort, with a legend distinguishing open roads with or without chains. Check the actual dated row and local advice for your approach rather than reading the legend as an all-clear. Leave time for fitting, ticket collection and the school meeting point at the base; a parking area close to a building does not establish step-free access.
Historical: the undated Snow Bus page lists Athens and Patras providers and a Kalavrita service with Friday–Sunday departures at 09:00 and 11:00 and resort returns at 14:30 and 15:45. No current season or dated operating commitment is supplied. Those retained times and fares are leads for direct confirmation, not a bookable 2026/27 timetable or a guaranteed last return.
Unconfirmed: current public-transport departures, reservations, fares, road restrictions, parking capacity and the whole accessible arrival/return chain are not verified. Arrange your actual ride home and confirm the last suitable descent or lift download before ascending. Ask specifically about boarding assistance, equipment carriage, toilets and evacuation if your party needs support.
The tariff page distinguishes adult and youth skiing, half-day access, family and local-resident categories, an Ermis beginner product and visitor lift products. Confirm exactly which lifts and slopes your ticket permits before buying. The Greek visitor wording describes a return trip without ski equipment; the Achilleas-plus-Styga visitor product explicitly applies outside the skiing season. Neither product establishes ski access or current lift operation.
Historical: the retained 2025/26 table lists adult day prices of €32 in high season and €22 in low season, half-day prices of €20/€15, an €8 Ermis beginner pass and a separate €4 reusable nonrefundable RFID card. The Greek page labels the annual card 2025–2026 and says the forthcoming winter tariff will be announced shortly before the season. These figures are historical context, not accepted 2026/27 prices or an offer.
Conflicting sources: the English price page gives 24 December 2025–8 January 2026 as the holiday high period, while the Greek page gives 21 December 2025–6 January 2026. The facility terms retain a third period from 2019/20. Do not apply any of these to a future visit or assume that a half-day start guarantees enough open terrain or return time.
Unconfirmed: current prices, refund/weather-interruption treatment, insurance cover and exact eligibility or proof requirements need confirmation against the applicable current terms. The retained Greek family rule requires a recent family-status certificate and all members at the ticket desk; discounted categories require in-person identity checks. Confirm the rule that applies to your party, and budget rental and lessons separately.
The operator’s facility terms limit the managed responsibility described there to pistes it controls and opens that day. Respect closures, signs and staff instructions; keep speed within your ability and the visibility, snow and traffic conditions. Yield to people below, leave room when overtaking and avoid stopping in blind or narrow places. The terms describe a helmet as essential and require secure equipment; arrange suitable fitting before boarding.
The terms prohibit piste use after daily closure, when grooming takes place and rescue vehicles are no longer operating. Grooming machinery can also move during opening hours and must be given a wide berth. Visitors and mountaineers may use only the predetermined routes indicated by staff; no uphill, off-piste, forest deep-snow or backcountry permission is granted by this guide or its map. Omitted freeride terrain is outside this managed-piste scope.
Historical: the facility terms retain generic 15 December–15 April planning, 09:00–16:00 daily hours and conditional night-skiing wording alongside a 2019/20 holiday calendar. The conditions page retains a last-snowfall entry of 4 April 2026. None establishes current snow stability, a present avalanche rating, tonight’s skiing or the coming season’s timetable.
Unconfirmed: today’s controlled terrain, patrol staffing, rescue contact and evacuation arrangements are not established by the retained pages. The terms describe first aid and require visitors to assist rescuers and alert lift or piste staff to hazards, but this is not a verified current response guarantee. Obtain the actual day’s safety briefing and emergency contact at reception; cancel or change the plan if a safe signed return is not available.
The operator places the equipment shop and rental at the base and lists ski, snowboard and sled hire. Its school page describes three private schools and independent instructors. Arrange a lesson appropriate to your ability and confirm the authorised meeting point, pass requirement and equipment before arrival; a listed school or rental service does not establish current availability or a reservation.
The Chalet is described at the lower 1700 m base, a short walk from parking without a lift ride. The Cantina is described higher at Vathia Lakka, around 1900 m, with lift-dependent access. The same page retains 09:00–16:00 food-service tables and an older chairlift description. Confirm each venue’s actual opening and the permitted return before travelling uphill for a meal.
The contact page lists resort information on +30 26920 24451 and +30 26920 24452. It separately lists Kalavrita hospital on +30 26920 22222; keep that town contact distinct from an on-piste emergency number. Start practical enquiries with resort information and request the actual day’s patrol and assistance arrangements rather than relying on old visitor testimonials.
Unconfirmed: current rental prices and inclusions, helmet availability, lesson fees, equipment return deadline, food-service hours and individual assistance are not verified. The undated rental table is not a current quotation. Confirm fitting, storage, suitable equipment sizes, accessible toilets and the full boarding/return chain before committing to the day.
Selected historical name and local-grade references only. The coverage note explains the unavailable current official plan. This list establishes neither the full inventory nor current opening or access.
