SKI AREA LAYOUTThe operator gives conflicting 47/51 slope totals. Independent community line segments are not a verified complete piste inventory or current opening count.
UPLIFTOperator-listed chairlifts, T-bars, button lifts and conveyors serve the area; the independent map represents only conservatively matched passenger alignments.
LOCAL DIFFICULTYFollow the operator’s local very easy, easy, intermediate, difficult and other categories and the signs on site. Generic community difficulty does not establish a local colour.

Colours show the published skiing status or confirmed operating calendar, not whether every lift is running. Check the operator before travel.
Confirmed dates change colours automatically in the place’s local time. Tentative dates, conflicting reports and expired checks remain black.
Unconfirmed: the operator map page is linked separately, but a current artwork edition and lawful inline preview have not been verified; no operator artwork is reproduced in this guide. The independent map retains 43 community downhill line segments and 13 matched passenger alignments across the three-peak alpine area and named lower/village-return corridors. These are mapping objects, not an official piste or lift count. Anonymous connectors, old aliases, positional flags, ambiguous learner lifts, club-only equipment, the M1 type conflict, parks/cross, zip lines and backcountry features are omitted. Generic grades remain grey. Exact-name/reference matching is not a comparison with current operator artwork; geometry does not establish opening, permission, safe conditions, a guaranteed return or navigation.
Access: Lodge Express, Hollvin Express and lower learning facilities
The operator places the children’s area beside its Lodges, with easy terrain, ski-school meeting points and nearby services. Confirm the exact lesson meeting point.
02
Totten 2
Access: Operator-listed Totten 2 uplift and opened marked approaches
The operator identifies its highest ski peak at 1,450 m. Confirm the suitable marked route and return before leaving the lower area.
03
Tinden
Access: Operator-listed Tindenheisen and opened marked connections
The operator describes varied terrain around the 1,345 m peak; the independent map does not guarantee every connection is usable.
04
Roni
Access: Operator-listed Roniheisen and opened marked connections
The operator describes east-facing skiing around the 1,225 m peak. Check the final connection back to your own base.
01
Start at the main ski base
Use the lower Lodge Express/main-base reference to plan arrival, then confirm your actual parking or ski-school meeting point. The operator places the children’s area beside its Lodges. Hemsedal village centre is a separate destination, and the pin does not guarantee step-free access.
02
Check the connection before changing mountain
Totten 2, Tinden and Roni are distinct alpine sectors, served by their operator-listed uplifts and marked connections. Ask staff which suitable connections are actually open before leaving the lower learning area; the independent map does not establish a usable circuit.
03
Plan the complete return to your own base
Confirm the final connecting lift, an appropriate open marked descent and any onward village transfer before ascending. General winter closing times and a mapped village-return corridor do not guarantee access or a suitable descent. The new local ski-bus timetable remains unpublished.
Hemsedal alpine ski guide with an independent map, three-mountain orientation, main-base and village travel, SkiPass scope, services and explicit seasonal limitations.
Three distinct alpine mountain sectors
Independent licensed map and practical base orientation
Conditional winter calendar and explicit source conflicts
Three alpine peaks and clear scope
SkiStar describes managed alpine skiing around Totten 2, Tinden and Roni. The lower children’s area sits next to the Lodges, while higher terrain offers different aspects and levels. Choose a marked route suitable for your actual ability rather than treating every mountain or nearby off-piste line as interchangeable.
Conflicting sources: checked on 31 October 2026, the winter homepage advertises both 47 and 51 slopes, while the status page uses 47. The homepage gives an 810 m vertical drop, whereas the ski-area page states elevations of 620–1,450 m. These summaries are not a reconciled inventory or measured vertical specification.
The independent map covers conservative, exact-name/reference-matched community alpine lines across the three-peak system and named lower/village-return corridors. Nordic trails, snow parks, ski cross, freeride and summer cycling are outside this guide. Mapping segments must not be counted as the resort’s pistes, and generic OSM difficulty stays grey.
Historical: the photograph shows Mølla Sportell and Hemsedal slope context on 11 January 2014, credited to Bjoertvedt under CC BY-SA 3.0. It does not show current buildings, snow cover, lift configuration or operating conditions.
The operator lists five chairlifts, two T-bars, ten button lifts and five conveyors. Lodge Express starts by SkiStar Lodge, and Hollvin Express serves the main base. Roniheisen, Tindenheisen and Totten 2 are separately listed uplifts; select a suitable open connection with staff before moving between mountain sectors.
Unconfirmed: current skiing availability and the complete operating lift installation are not established by the undated closed rows, dynamic errors and a 20 October cycling message. The independent map omits several learner alignments, a community M1 T-bar versus operator button-lift difference, old aliases and positional flags; it does not certify today’s equipment or return.
The published winter calendar plans 09:00–15:30 until 5 February, with 09:00–14:00 on 24 December, then 09:00–16:30 from 6 February to 2 May. It separately lists selected extended, evening and early-morning sessions. Confirm the last usable connecting lift, your marked descent and any village shuttle before leaving the base; a general closing time is not a guaranteed return.
Reach the right base and confirm the last connection
The operator places Hemsedal in Hallingdal between Oslo and Bergen. It describes rail travel to Gol with onward transport, coach or car travel from Oslo, and a 2026/27 Snälltåget train journey via Oslo with a linked coach transfer. Verify the complete itinerary and ski-baggage terms for your actual date before booking.
Unconfirmed: the 2026/27 local ski-bus timetable has not yet been published. The operator describes a free bus linking the ski area, village centre, Tuv and Ulsåk, but no departure, last return or accessible transfer is established here. Old 2025/26 PDFs are not this winter’s timetable.
Choose accommodation and the correct ski-school base before selecting parking. The Lodge garage is advertised as chargeable; current prices, availability and a step-free path from a specific bay are not established. Ask the operator to confirm drop-off, assistance and a suitable lift before travel, particularly if using adapted equipment.
The Hemsedal pass page distinguishes whole-area SkiPasses, a children’s-area pass described as covering six button lifts, and a family pass shared in turns by two adults with children under 18; children’s passes are bought separately. One- and two-day, longer and flexible options have different scope. Do not assume a learner pass covers a mountain transfer.
The afternoon pass starts at 12:00 and excludes evening skiing; the two-hour option runs consecutively from the first lift ride. The operator also lists a specific evening pass and four flexible days within a week. Its 6–8-day option advertises eight days for the price of six. Confirm what your exact product includes, especially extended or early-morning sessions.
Unconfirmed: no date-, age- and product-specific payable price or eligible-lift list for the children’s pass was established in the inspected public overview. Check the live Hemsedal quote, card cost, collection point and applicable cancellation terms before paying. The general page’s 95 SEK cancellation statement is not adopted as a verified Norwegian fee; the booking-terms selector applies Norwegian conditions according to booking date.
Open marked terrain, local rules and stale hazard reports
The operator applies the Norwegian alpine rules: control your equipment and speed, give people ahead room, check before entering or turning uphill, and keep narrow or blind places clear. Straight downhill running without turns is prohibited outside organised training. Follow signs and staff instructions, help after an accident and provide identification when involved or a witness.
SkiStar prohibits sledges and private snowmobiles in the ski area. Marked and prepared slopes are distinct from off-piste terrain; previous tracks do not prove safety or permission. This guide and independent map exclude backcountry, extreme and freestyle features. Ask patrol about closures, grooming work, conditions and the appropriate rescue procedure.
Historical: the inspected Hemsedal avalanche page still displays a report updated 19 April 2026. That report is not a current avalanche assessment for October or the coming winter. Obtain current local advice and posted information before skiing; the map, calendar and archive photograph cannot establish safe snow or current access.
Lessons, equipment, assistance and useful contacts
The operator places toilets, a heated cabin, ski-school meeting facilities, food and a shop near the lower children’s area. It advertises rental and winter workshop work on the ground floor of SkiStar Lodge Hemsedal Alpin, plus boot fitting at the Concept Store. Reserve the correct equipment and lesson level, and confirm collection, fitting and returns with the actual shop.
Unconfirmed: year-round reception wording and advertised winter services do not establish opening on your visit. The inspected shop/reception widgets show current closures alongside future weekday hours. Adaptive lessons and companion/priority-boarding schemes are advertised, but a suitable instructor, equipment, transfer and lift assistance require destination-specific arrangements.
The local service page lists ski patrol at +47 90 60 98 26, with its main base below Lodge Express, and emergency medical help on 113; non-emergency medical advice is 116 117. Confirm the current local alarm instructions with staff. SkiStar’s customer-service channel handles booking and assistance; do not use a general customer-service queue for an urgent slope incident.
Selected historical name and local-grade references only. The coverage note explains the unavailable current official plan. This list establishes neither the full inventory nor current opening or access.
