Reviewed community geometry covers the plateau, middle and upper alpine area and the access-chair approach. Valley itineraries, backcountry, technical/private/proposed ways, duplicate closed piste boundaries, unidentified beginner links and doubtful composite or steep alignments are omitted. Names are raw community labels, not verified current operator identities. Three exact selected names retain documented 2018/19 local colours; other pistes remain grey. OSM way segments are not a piste inventory. Unconfirmed: the current official winter plan has not been independently checked; restricted operator artwork and deep links are omitted, and this community map establishes no current opening or access permission. This is a planning reference, not navigation.

HOW THE AREA CONNECTS

Understand the sectors.

01

Base / access chair

Access: The car park, hire and ticketing are at the lower base; the Access Chairlift reaches the plateau.

Allow time for fitting and the lift approach. Confirm assistance and the last permitted descent.

02

Plateau / Coire Pollach

Access: The plateau and Coire Pollach are the lower mountain learning area; confirm the actual open installations and meeting point.

Green local pistes and school activity, distinct from the valley itineraries and base dry slope.

03

Middle / upper mountain

Access: Community geometry places Cliffhanger and Wall between the plateau and upper Main Basin/Rannoch network; confirm usable connections with staff.

Blue, red and black local grades. Confirm each open connection and your return before leaving the plateau.

01

Start at the lower base

The A82 approach leads to the base car park, hire and cafe; the Access Chairlift approaches the plateau. Confirm your school meeting point and allow time for fitting and queues. The pin is a community lift endpoint, not a surveyed accessible entrance.

02

Separate plateau and upper terrain

Community geometry places the plateau and Coire Pollach below Cliffhanger/Wall and the upper Main Basin/Rannoch network. Confirm an open connection suited to your ability with staff; the map does not establish a current operator alignment or transfer.

03

Arrange the return before going higher

Plan a return to the access chair with staff, including the last permitted chair descent. Do not assume snow reaches the car park or substitute a valley itinerary. The published last-ascent notices differ and do not establish the final descent.

Plateau and upper Meall a’ Bhuiridh

Glencoe Mountain is the alpine ski area on Meall a’ Bhuiridh above Rannoch Moor, reached from the Kingshouse base. The learning plateau and Coire Pollach lie below the middle and upper Main Basin and Rannoch terrain. The operator advertises 20 runs and eight lifts, whereas its report has ten uplift rows including carpets. These scopes are distinct from the independent map’s community features.

Historical: Plateau Run, Main Basin and Spring Run are selected green, blue and red references from the 2018/19 operator plan inspected on 28 October 2026. That edition marked the Rannoch Chair as coming soon; a later operator lift list includes it. These selected names and grades do not establish the current plan, footprint or complete inventory.

The independent map covers reviewed plateau, middle and upper alpine geometry, with the Access Chairlift approach. Dotted valley itineraries, backcountry, duplicate closed piste outlines, unnamed links and doubtful composite or steep alignments are omitted. Names remain community source labels. Grey means no verified local colour; three exact historical name references retain their documented local colours. Confirm actual signs, ability requirements and open connections locally.

Access chair, snow and wind-dependent operation

The Access Chairlift approaches the plateau from the lower base. The operator’s named list includes Plateau Poma, Coire Pollach, Cliffhanger, Wall, Main Basin and Rannoch installations, with carpets listed separately. The independent map shows only reviewed named passenger ways; missing beginner installations and differences in source spelling are acknowledged. A mapped installation does not guarantee service, present alignment or a suitable transfer.

Unconfirmed: fixed 2026/27 ski opening and closing dates, the complete winter lift timetable and the final permitted chair descent have not been established. The season-pass conditions tie skiing to available snow without guaranteeing season length. Confirm the actual open lifts and how to return before leaving the plateau.

Conflicting sources: the operator homepage contains 15:45, 16:00 and 16:15 last-ascent notices, while the winter page labels 09:00–16:30 as summer hours. The 29 October 16:31 report describes summer activities, zero snow depths and 0/10 operating uplifts; another widget uses eight lifts. These dated reports establish neither alpine opening nor a final-descent time.

A82 base and an unverified final public-transport link

The resort gives Kingshouse, Glencoe, PH49 4HZ as its address. The West Highland Way listing places the driveway just off the A82, with the base cafe beside the car park and the access chair towards its upper end. The map point uses the lower northern endpoint of the community Access Chairlift way; it is a geographic reference rather than a surveyed entrance or parking bay.

Unconfirmed: a complete date-specific public-transport journey to the resort, the final road transfer, current parking charges and overnight permission have not been verified. General carrier references and a nearby road stop do not establish a safe walk along the A82 or a winter resort shuttle. Arrange the final connection and check road and weather conditions before travel.

DSUK independently lists adaptive outdoor lessons at Glencoe, with availability and costs tailored to the individual. Contact hello@disabilitysnowsport.org.uk or +44 1479 788770. Unconfirmed: an individually suitable route from vehicle to hire, chair boarding, mountain facilities and return has not been established. Discuss equipment, assistance and the entire journey before booking.

Published 2026/27 prices and distinct products

The operator’s Winter Pricelist, reached through the homepage and checked on 29 October, is labelled 2026/27. It lists adult day uplift at GBP 35 midweek and GBP 40 at weekends/holidays; junior equivalents are GBP 25 and GBP 30. Chairlift-only return is a separate product, listed at GBP 20 adult, and does not establish use of every ski lift. The tariff lists GBP 5 for under-fives; juniors are under 16 and seniors over 65. Check exact age qualification and proof.

The listed holiday bands are 21 December–4 January, 15–19 February and 26 March–9 April. They are charging periods, not promised ski dates. Adult season prices are GBP 360 early bird and GBP 420 standard. Unconfirmed: the current early-bird purchase deadline was not established. The season-pass conditions guarantee neither season length nor snow quality and state no refund for that product.

Use the operator homepage’s ticket navigation to check the exact chosen product, date and cancellation terms before paying. The separate Axess shop was inspected without purchase. Conflicting sources: the winter tariff and preliminary lesson page give different beginner-package durations and prices; the lesson page says the 2026/27 programme is due in November. Confirm the actual package instead of treating either table as a final booking quotation.

Closures, return choices and separate avalanche forecasts

Use only terrain and uplift opened by the operator; obey patrol, signs, ropes and closures. Establish a return suited to your ability before going higher, including the last permitted chair descent if snow does not reach the base. A mapped green connection is not permission to ski to the car park. The independent map omits valley itineraries, touring and doubtful steep or composite alignments and supplies no navigation or avalanche assessment.

Historical: the SAIS Glencoe page checked on 29 October still displayed a forecast issued 7 April for 7–8 April 2026 and said the previous winter’s reports had ended. It is not a current forecast. Seek current dated mountain weather, avalanche information when available and local advice; a missing bulletin never establishes safe conditions.

Unconfirmed: current operator-specific uphill/touring permission, an uphill timetable and a direct patrol emergency number were not verified. Ask staff how to contact patrol and obtain current access instructions before any uphill or beyond-boundary plan. The operator’s transceiver park is a practice facility requiring a patrol check, not permission for a route. The general resort number is +44 1855 851226.

Advance hire, provisional lessons and base facilities

The operator recommends booking full hire packages at least 24 hours before arrival. Walk-ins follow pre-booked orders, and individual items depend on remaining stock. The checked ski/boot/pole package is GBP 35 adult and GBP 28 junior. Conflicting sources: the hire page lists junior boots at GBP 10 and poles at GBP 6, while the Winter Pricelist gives GBP 12 and GBP 5. Confirm the item and actual price.

The lesson page checked on 29 October labels its information preliminary until the November 2026/27 programme. It describes hire opening at 08:30, recommended 09:00 arrival and additional time for fitting and uplift queues; confirm your date, age, level, meeting point and included pass/equipment. School enquiries use instruction@glencoemountain.co.uk and +44 7917 638353; general enquiries use +44 1855 851226. DSUK handles separate adaptive enquiries.

The operator and West Highland Way list the White Corries base cafe, accommodation and hire; operator facilities also include toilets, showers and drying facilities, with upper cafe service conditional on activity. Conflicting sources: general and low-season cafe-hour panels differ; confirm actual service. Historical: the genuine plateau photograph was taken by SnowsportsJames on 3 March 2020 under CC BY-SA 4.0. Its snow and installations are archive context.
