Colours show the published skiing status or confirmed operating calendar, not whether every lift is running. Check the operator before travel.

Confirmed dates change colours automatically in the place’s local time. Tentative dates, conflicting reports and expired checks remain black.

Unconfirmed: no current official winter piste plan was established from the operator pages checked on 30 October 2026; this independent community map does not verify current access or opening. One community downhill line and the adjacent long T-bar are retained; the short unidentified T-bar, learner-area outline and snow-play facilities are omitted. No official names or local grade colours are assigned. Mapped ways are not the resort inventory, a grooming report or navigation.

HOW THE AREA CONNECTS

Understand the sectors.

01

Resort service base

Access: Ski Rental and Guest Relations beside Sky Restaurant; confirm the actual meeting point.

Equipment, passes and lesson arrangements are separate from the location pin and accommodation check-in.

02

Managed alpine corridor

Access: Independent OSM downhill line and adjacent long T-bar; current operating and connection scope unconfirmed.

Confirm the suitable open area with staff; learning and snow-play facilities are not accepted mapped connections.

01

Find Ski Rental and Guest Relations

The operator directs snowpass, equipment and lesson enquiries to Ski Rental or Guest Relations beside Sky Restaurant. Its public destination pins differ; confirm your actual arrival, meeting point and return transfer. A map marker does not establish parking or step-free access.

02

Distinguish the main mapped corridor from learning facilities

The independent community map retains the long T-bar and nearby downhill line only. Their endpoints suggest a shared corridor; this is a geometry observation, not a current operator-plan match or named route. The short unidentified lift and learning outline are omitted. Ask staff for the suitable open teaching area and any permitted connection.

03

Agree the return before going up

Unconfirmed: dated lift closing, final boarding and a current marked return have not been established. Ask staff how and when to return to your actual lower meeting point, and allow for the winter road and border journey. Reception hours and community geometry do not establish a final ski descent.

A compact alpine destination in the Maluti Mountains

Afriski Mountain Resort is a ski and snowboard destination in Lesotho’s Maluti Mountains, with designated learning slopes, lessons and equipment hire. This guide covers its managed alpine area. The surrounding mountain terrain, summer bike routes and snow-play activities are separate: a tubing package or a road through the resort does not establish permission to ski elsewhere.

The operator’s general FAQ describes winter activities in June–August and slopes for different abilities. Unconfirmed: exact winter 2027 dates, a current named piste inventory, measured ski kilometres and named local grades have not been established. The homepage currently promotes summer; it is not a dated ski-opening report. No difficulty colour or resort-wide piste total is inferred from promotional wording.

Unconfirmed: no current official winter piste plan was established from the operator pages checked on 30 October 2026; this independent community map does not verify current access or opening. The independent ODbL map shows one community downhill line beside the long mapped T-bar. A separate short unnamed lift is omitted because its current identity and use are unresolved; learner slopes and snow-play zones are not mapped as verified ski connections. Grey means no confirmed local colour. Two retained OSM ways are source objects, not an official slope or lift inventory.

Confirm the T-bar, learning area and operating day

The operator’s Snowpass terms and 2026 brochure identify a T-bar ski lift and require a valid Snow Pass for slope users. The brochure says the T-bar cannot operate above 47 km/h wind speed and warns that wind or mechanical issues can interrupt uplift. This is an operating limitation, not a promise that it will run below that threshold or that another installation will be available.

Unconfirmed: no dated 2027 lift timetable, last ascent, final descent or complete current installation list was established. The contact page’s 06:00–22:00 reception hours concern reception, not ski lifts. Community geometry has no operator names, and its two T-bar tags do not establish two working lifts. Ask Ski Rental or Guest Relations beside Sky Restaurant which learning facility, lift and marked return suit your party before going up.

The 2026 brochure directs guests to arrange gear, passes and instruction early at Ski Rental. Private and standalone group lessons do not include the Snow Pass, even though certain combined beginner packages include it. Confirm the precise dated package and appropriate open slope with staff; neither a lesson booking nor this map authorizes use of closed terrain.

Plan the border crossing and winter road separately

The operator’s travel guide asks visitors arriving from South Africa to prepare for an international border crossing, carry passports and vehicle documentation, check the border times and avoid mountain driving after dark. It warns of potholes, animals and snow disruption. Its FAQ says winter conditions may require a 4×4 or snow chains. Check the actual road, vehicle suitability and outward and return arrangements before departure; no current road clearance or rescue response time is verified here.

Conflicting sources: the operator’s stay-page destination points to approximately −28.8203625, 28.7272528, while its contact-page destination points to −28.8235208, 28.7272528. The guide uses the contact-page approximation for orientation only. Neither pin establishes the entrance, a parking space or a step-free route to lessons. Ask for the actual arrival point and the approach to Ski Rental or Guest Relations beside Sky Restaurant.

Unconfirmed: dated 2027 border hours, nationality-specific entry and child-travel requirements, border fees, a public resort shuttle and an accessible transfer chain have not been established. The operator’s own child-document and driving-permit summaries vary in scope and should not be treated as current immigration advice. Verify the requirements with the relevant authorities and your carrier or vehicle provider. Arrange individual assistance, parking, snow-surface transfer and the return directly with the resort.

Separate the 2026 tariff from an unconfirmed future offer

Historical: the operator-linked brochure is explicitly titled 2026 Winter Activities Rates. It lists a one-day Snow Pass at M650 for people who can ski and have their own equipment, with multiday totals of M975, M1,365, M1,690 and M1,950 for two to five days. These are 2026 references, not accepted 2027 prices, current availability or a verified transaction. Lessons, rental and visitor entry are distinct products; confirm the complete dated quote before paying.

Conflicting sources: the winter landing page’s standalone Snowpass card says M600, while the Snowpass product and 2026 brochure say M650. The same landing page mixes standard and older daytripper/holiday packages with differing prices, durations, lesson hours and child-age labels. The 2026 brochure includes helmets in child packages and excludes them from adult packages; confirm the inclusion for the exact web product. Do not combine the cheapest row from one table with inclusions from another.

The current Snowpass product requires a pass for slopes and lifts, excludes it from standalone private/group lesson fees and describes no refund for wind or mechanical disruption. Its limited accident refund wording requires a medical certificate from the in-house medical team and a written request; it does not promise a general cash refund. Conflicting sources: accommodation booking terms use both more-than-30-days and 45-or-fewer-days payment thresholds, and their disruption provisions describe vouchers rather than the snow-product accident rule. Obtain the applicable written terms for the exact product; no refund eligibility or enforceability is decided by this guide.

Unconfirmed: exact winter 2027 fares, tax treatment, dated lesson capacity and the final age/inclusion rules are not established. The 2026 brochure distinguishes adult and 6–12-year-old Pudi packages, snowboarding from age nine, and under-six Bambini supervision; four- and five-year-olds may attend a one-hour private ski lesson rather than the 6+ group. The webpage gives other Bambini ages and half-day figures. Confirm the child’s age, discipline, lesson, helmet and supervision arrangements directly.

Use only the terrain and instruction currently released by staff

The resort contact page lists +266 595 44 734 as its emergency number. Its travel guide tells stranded guests to call the resort and select its 999 emergency option if phones work; this is a resort phone-menu instruction, not an independently verified national emergency dial code. Save the resort contact and agree a communication and return plan before travelling. Do not rely on a map line or an old photograph for snow cover, patrol presence or a safe descent.

The 2026 brochure calls beginner instruction mandatory for its learn-to-ski packages, separates experienced skiers’ products and makes snow activities dependent on conditions. Confirm fitting and helmet provision before starting, respect every posted closure and staff direction, and use only the appropriate open managed area. The advertised wind threshold does not replace the operator’s actual lift decision or an assessment of weather and visibility.

Unconfirmed: current detailed slope rules, uphill permission, a dated patrol/avalanche bulletin, evacuation arrangements and individual adaptive access were not established. Both the old and current critical-info destinations returned 404 when checked. No touring, after-hours skiing, backcountry access or unmarked connection is authorized by this guide. Obtain the current relevant rules from the resort before using the area; uncertain terrain remains outside the map.

The travel guide advises carrying food, water and blankets and checking road updates. Its vehicle-recovery suggestions are not a vehicle-specific recovery procedure. If travel conditions deteriorate, seek current local assistance rather than improvising from this guide. The operator’s booking terms ask guests to arrange travel/medical cover including evacuation; verify the actual cover and exclusions with your insurer.

Arrange rental, lessons and practical assistance at the base

The operator lists ski and snowboard hire, boots, helmet hire and private or group instruction. Its 2026 brochure places Ski Rental and Guest Relations beside Sky Restaurant and recommends arranging equipment and lessons early. Confirm the actual fitting, collection and return times, suitable sizes and whether the quoted package includes boots, helmet, Snow Pass and instruction. Equipment availability and a preferred instructor are not guaranteed by a price table.

Accommodation choices include backpacker rooms, lodges, apartments and self-catering chalets; Sky Restaurant is separately advertised. Unconfirmed: dated winter dining hours, dietary provision, accessible toilets, adaptive equipment and a continuous assisted journey from vehicle to slope are not established. The general FAQ welcomes service animals with advance notice, but that statement alone does not establish suitability of every building or lift.

Contact the resort on +266 595 44 734, the published South African office number +27 11 705 2814, bookings@afriski.net or info@afriski.africa. These are public enquiry contacts, not evidence of a booking or personal operator confirmation. Conflicting sources: the FAQ describes typical accommodation check-in from 14:00, while the booking terms say 16:00; both give 10:00 checkout. Confirm your actual booking’s arrival and departure arrangements, especially if they affect a winter road journey.
