01 / PRODUCT OVERVIEW
What it is built for.
This profile covers the brake-equipped Xenic plus 10 from Fritschi’s 2026/27 collection. It is distinct from the gold plus 12 and the earlier Xenic 7/10. The toe uses horizontally moving pin levers; lateral and frontal release are adjusted at the heel. Manufacturer feature descriptions are not a guarantee against unintended release or injury. A binding cannot release appropriately in every fall, and correct mounting, the individual boot and the rest of the ski system remain essential.

02 / COMPARISON SHEET
Read the current figures together.
Manufacturer figure without the ski brake; not pair mass.
Manufacturer lists 335 g for the complete unit; not independently weighed.
Optional guiding plate 60 gives 60 mm total. Neither figure is ski-flex compensation.
Manufacturer describes compensation as the ski flexes; not permission to swap boots without a new check.
Manufacturer figures are preserved with their stated measurement and variant context.
03 / PLATFORM TECHNOLOGY
Design choices that shape your ski day.
Separate adjustment from compensation
The standard 25 mm adjustment accommodates a defined boot-sole-length range. The 10 mm mechanism manages length change as the ski bends. A different boot still needs a specialist fit and functional check.
Professional boot–binding–ski check
Suitable PinTech inserts are required. Fritschi’s boot list is an indicative, nonexhaustive retailer guide, not universal approval of every size or sole. A trained dealer must perform the four-point compatibility check and set and test release with the actual boots.
Current manual applicability
Fritschi confirms the plus uses the same operating system and has no separate plus manual. Historical: the linked Xenic 7/10 instructions, revision 004102 / 03.22 / A, remain the operating reference, but their older 280 g mass and walking-angle illustration are not the current plus specifications.
04 / COMPONENTS
Compatibility, retention and service.
Boot, ski and mounting
- Boots
- Touring boots with compatible PinTech inserts.A GripWalk, alpine or touring sole label alone does not prove pin-system compatibility. The current English list specifies a special ski brake for the beige-sole Salomon MTN Summit; have the exact combination checked.
- Ski and approved parts
- The applicable manual specifies ski width greater than 70 mm.The actual ski/brake fit, manufacturer-approved accessories and mounting must be checked by a specialist. Do not add arbitrary spacers or third-party parts. The current manufacturer guiding plate 60 is a separate named option.
- Installation and settings
- Specialist mounting, boot adjustment and functional/release testing.Release-setting values 4–10 are not an independently verified product certification. Do not copy settings to another boot pair or assume one setting suits every skier.
Brake-equipped retention and descent
- Ski retention
- Use the correct functioning ski brake.Conflicting sources: the current accessories page permits its safety leash only together with the brake. The older manual says brake or leash and the product page offers a without-brake variant. This guide covers the brake-equipped configuration only and does not endorse leash-only use; ask Fritschi before considering that scope.
- Downhill mode
- The toe selector must be in SKI for descent. The walking position increases release forces. Never use uphill locking as a downhill solution. Check the complete manufacturer instructions and obtain practical instruction from the specialist.
- Limitations
- No guarantee of release in every fall or prevention of injury. The manual warns that the brake may not prevent ski loss in deep snow. Equipment does not determine avalanche safety or permission to ski a route.
Inspection and care
- Before use
- Check for damaged or missing parts and correct function.Do not use a damaged system. Have boots, binding and release checked by a specialist before each new season and after a relevant change.
- Cleaning and storage
- Protect from dirt and salt; clean gently and store warm and dry.Forceful washing can remove grease. Follow the manufacturer’s care instructions and use the specialist for repairs; this profile is not an installation or operating manual.
