01 / EVENT OVERVIEW
What defines this edition.
Choose an exact distance and technique before entering, then plan bib collection, the signed start and a complete return. The linked 2027 platform provides current starts and entry prices; older organiser pages need separate treatment. All programme times below use America/Chicago, CST (UTC−06:00). Snowmaking and a paid entry do not guarantee snow, a particular course or that the race will run.
Conflicting sources: the 2027 FAQ describes roughly 16 km freestyle and 19 km classic loops plus access legs, including three Vasa laps, while the 2027 registration description says races use one or two laps. The separate course-map page is still labelled February 2026 and describes approximately 17 km and 21 km loops. Advertised 51/34/12/42/21 km categories are retained without claiming a verified final 2027 geometry. Check the final bulletin and your race instructions.
The FAQ separates Union Street, Mora Lake and Library Park starts, with signed west-side and east-side approaches from Union Street. Historical: the 2026 map and spectator pages do not establish a safe 2027 lake crossing, exact viewing boundary or current ice access. Do not copy a route from old artwork, cross the course or enter the lake outside authorised signed access.
Historical: the genuine May 2007 courthouse photograph shows the host town in a different season, not race facilities or conditions. Organiser posters, race photographs, logos and course-map artwork are omitted; no reproduction grant or personal attendance is claimed.
The organiser and its linked 2027 entry platform list Saturday freestyle races and Sunday classic races plus the Miniloppet. Freestyle permits skate or classic technique; the Sunday Classic and Half Classic require classic technique. The FAQ excludes under-18s from the Vasa and Classic and requires a parent or guardian waiver for under-18s in the Dala, Team and Bellringer. Unconfirmed: exact youth prices, all age-category eligibility and Miniloppet supervision requirements must be checked in the applicable registration terms.
02 / PUBLISHED PROGRAMME
The published timetable.
Friday, February 12, 2027
Friday · bib collection
The 2027 FAQ names Vasaloppet Headquarters, 100 S Union Street, for Friday collection. Bib numbers are assigned at collection. This is preparation before the two listed race days.Saturday, February 13, 2027
Saturday · race-day bib collection
The 2027 FAQ names St. Mary’s Catholic Church Parish Center, 201 East Forest Avenue. Collect your bib before the start of your own race; the end of this overall window is not permission to arrive late.Saturday, February 13, 2027
Saturday · Vasa 51 km freestyle
The linked 2027 entry platform lists this start. The advertised distance is an event category; final course and weather decisions can change the actual skiing.Saturday, February 13, 2027
Saturday · Dala 34 km freestyle
The linked 2027 entry platform lists this start. Skate or classic technique is permitted in the Saturday freestyle events.Saturday, February 13, 2027
Saturday · Bellringer / Team 12 km
The 2027 platform combines these categories at the same start time. The organiser describes the Team as a simultaneous team competition, not a relay, and names Mora Lake as the start. Unconfirmed: final team-entry composition and checkout rules must be checked for the chosen category.Sunday, February 14, 2027
Sunday · bib collection
The 2027 FAQ again names St. Mary’s Parish Center and includes Miniloppet collection there. Its parking lot is unavailable before 11:15 on Sunday because of Mass; arrange earlier collection without assuming access to that lot.Sunday, February 14, 2027
Sunday · Classic 42 km and Half Classic 21 km
Both starts are listed on the 2027 platform. Use classic technique and the correct distance; the Vasa and Classic minimum age is 18 in the organiser FAQ.Sunday, February 14, 2027
Sunday · Miniloppet
The 2027 platform lists this start and closes Miniloppet registration on 7 February at 13:30 CST. The FAQ lists 0.5, 1.5 and 4 km routes. Unconfirmed: final child age/category choices, guardian supervision and route arrangements should be confirmed before entry.Sunday, February 14, 2027
Sunday · aid staffing and platform end are different
The FAQ ends staffed Sunday soup stops at 14:00; RunSignup lists a 15:00 event end. Saturday staffed soup stops end at 15:00. Unconfirmed: a final supported finisher cutoff, last sweep, transport after withdrawal and exact venue closing time are not established. Do not treat the platform end as guaranteed staffed assistance until that time.03 / TICKETS & BROADCAST
Attend with the live instructions.
2027 organiser-linked entry platform checked 3 November 2026
Select the exact distance, technique and individual/team or children’s category. RunSignup displays US$133.50 including an US$8.50 fee for Vasa, Dala, Classic and Half Classic; US$85.80 including US$5.80 for Bellringer/Team; and US$22.20 including US$2.20 for Miniloppet. The first two price groups increase after 6 December 2026 at 23:59 CST. The linked refund page says refunds are not allowed; the FAQ also says no refund if cancelled and describes a medical-note transfer to the following year. It allows race changes until one hour before the start. Unconfirmed: exact youth discounts, team checkout totals, remaining capacity, final checkout charges and the full medical-transfer procedure have not been verified. Confirm your category and terms before paying; no live Offer is asserted in structured data.
Organiser-linked 2027 RunSignup entry and termsTerritory matters
The organiser links race streams in its FAQ. Historical: the spectator page is headed February 2026, and future-edition video availability, access territories and replay terms are not established.
Unconfirmed: a verified 2027 stream schedule or broadcaster has not been established.
Official broadcast hub04 / SPECTATOR ACCESS
The pin is not the gate.
The map point is a general Mora city-centre reference. The 2027 entry platform gives 100 Union Street; the FAQ places Vasa, Dala, Classic and Half Classic starts and finishes on Union Street, Bellringer/Team starts on Mora Lake and Miniloppet starts in Library Park. Unconfirmed: this pin is not a surveyed start, parking entrance, accessible drop-off or safe walking/ice route. Follow the signed approach for your exact race.
The 2027 FAQ names downtown street parking and St. Mary’s parking lot on Saturday. On Sunday it prohibits use of the church lot before 11:15 because of Mass. Follow current signs and leave emergency and resident access clear; no space is reserved by this guide.
Historical: the still-2026 spectator page names Union Street and the Mora Library / Lake Mora area as viewing references, with side-street access and headquarters at 100 Union Street. Unconfirmed: final 2027 viewing boundaries, admission arrangements, street closures and spectator facilities are not established; seek the updated instructions before travelling.
Unconfirmed: no edition-specific shuttle timetable, public-transport connection, final collection service or complete onward return has been verified. Arrange each leg to your accommodation or vehicle, including a withdrawal or late finish. Neither a platform end time nor general town directions guarantees transport.
Unconfirmed: continuous step-free access, suitable lake-side surfaces, reserved wheelchair viewing, accessible toilets and assisted evacuation have not been established. Ask the organiser about the full arrival, viewing and return plan for your needs; a general parking reference is not an accessibility assessment.
The FAQ locates bag drop and changing in the Vasaloppet Tent near Union Street South / Forest Avenue and requires your bib to reclaim a bag. It lists skier lunch at St. Mary’s, 12:00–16:00 Saturday and 11:30–15:00 Sunday, using a packet lunch ticket; additional lunches are listed at US$12, with vegetarian and gluten-free options. Unconfirmed: exact 2027 operating changes, allergy controls, storage security and spectator meal availability should be checked directly.
