Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja 2027

Ski Classics and the organiser list the main Summit 2 Senja 60 km classic race from Bardufoss to Finnsnes for Sunday 4 April 2027, with elite men at 09:00 and women at 09:05 local time. Conflicting sources: the linked 2027 registration instead displays Saturday 3 April; confirm the date before committing to entry or travel.

01 / EVENT OVERVIEW

What defines this edition.

This long-distance race links the inland Bardufoss area with the coastal finish in Finnsnes. This guide covers the main classic race, its qualification requirement and the practical details that can be supported independently. Historical: the organiser’s page still calls the event the fourteenth race of Season XVI and retains relative “tomorrow” wording, alongside explicit 2027 references. The current circuit identifies Event 15 of Season XVIII; retained older operational text is not a final 2027 briefing.

Cross-country skiing
01
Nominal route and separate venues

The organiser describes a 60 km Bardufoss–Finnsnes course through Målselv, Sørreisa and Senja municipalities. The circuit identifies a demanding inland-to-coast race; its rules appendix names Johannesmyra and Magdaskaret as competition checkpoints. Unconfirmed: a final 2027 alignment, surveyed ascent, track access and precise checkpoint positions are not established here. No organiser course artwork is copied or traced; the town point is only a planning reference.

02
Retained bib, support and baggage details

Historical: the Norwegian organiser text lists Saturday 3 April bib collection at the Ski Classics truck in the Reistadløpet finish area from 15:00–16:00 and Sunday 4 April start-area collection from 07:00–08:15; its English counterpart still says “tomorrow” and gives a less precise ski-house collection description. It lists amateur aid at nominal 15 km and 30 km, clothing transport to Finnsnes and awards for the first three women and men. Unconfirmed: edition-final bib hours/location, aid supply, dietary provision, baggage limits and collection arrangements are not established by this mixed-season page.

03
Checkpoint and cut-off conflict

Conflicting sources: the organiser’s Norwegian text places a 13:00 cut-off at a road crossing in SC service zone 6 at 50 km; its English text says service zone 4 at the same distance and time. Both sit within retained Season XVI wording. Unconfirmed: the final 2027 checkpoint identity, intermediate limits, finish closure and withdrawal transport are not established. Do not treat the retained 13:00 text as an accepted final 2027 safety plan.

04
Technique and personal eligibility

The circuit and registration identify classic technique. The v18.0 rules list Pro Team membership and a valid FIS licence for championship points and prize-money eligibility, which is separate from the recreational qualifying-pin process. Registration requires Norwegian athletes to hold an NSF licence and advertises a one-time licence option at EUR 15 for ages 13–25 or EUR 30 from age 26. Those payment bands do not establish the race’s minimum age or an individual’s eligibility. Unconfirmed: final recreational equipment, age, foreign-licence and insurance requirements must be checked for the actual entrant. Registration explicitly starts Challenger qualification on 23 March 2026. The v18.0 rules define Season XVIII from 30 March 2026 and separately let Challenger events in a season’s final week count toward the next season. These are distinct qualification and season scopes, not proof of a date error. Unconfirmed: acceptance of an individual result and the qualifying pin must be checked with member services.

05
Image context and reuse

Historical: Chmee2’s genuine 2007 photograph shows a street, buildings and trees in Bardufoss. The Commons description says August, while camera metadata records 16 July; the exact capture date is unresolved. Original JPEG bytes are unchanged, with responsive display crops under CC BY-SA 3.0. This is summer host-town context, not Summit 2 Senja, a start entrance, its route or current snow conditions.

FORMATMain 60 km classic cross-country race from Bardufoss to Finnsnes, for Pro Team athletes and a limited qualified recreational field. Reistadløpet on the preceding day is a separate event and entry.

The circuit and entry page describe up to 250 qualified recreational places. Qualification requires one Pro Tour finish or two Challenger finishes within the winner’s time for the relevant gender plus 50%. Entrants must connect their SC MyPages profile with the Ski Classics database and obtain the qualifying pin before registration is available. No account, registration or payment was submitted during this review.

Qualified recreational entry for the main 60 km classic race, with Pro Team entry governed separately. Reistadløpet, accommodation, flights and return transport are not implied by this registration link.. At the 31 October check, the linked 2027 entry page lists a EUR 250 starting price and a EUR 250 tier from 30 March 2026. Norwegian one-time licence charges are listed separately. Unconfirmed: the complete payable total, refund, transfer, cancellation and weather-change terms were not established by the read-only page; its Rules and Terms controls point to the circuit site rather than a complete checkout contract. 04 / SPECTATOR ACCESS

The pin is not the gate.

The organiser identifies Bardufoss as the starting town and Finnsnes as the finish. This rounded OSM town reference is © OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL. Unconfirmed: the exact 2027 start gate, bib entrance, parking and accessible approach are not established by this point. It is not a surveyed entrance, finish or course map.

The circuit identifies Bardufoss Airport as the closest airport and Tromsø and Harstad/Narvik as alternatives. Start in Bardufoss and finish in Finnsnes are different destinations. The organiser asks athletes and accompanying people who need Finnsnes–Bardufoss return transport to notify info@reistadlopet.no. Unconfirmed: this request is not a confirmed booking, fare, departure timetable, baggage acceptance or guaranteed last return. Arrange the complete journey with the organiser and actual carrier before committing.

Historical: the general practical page describes the separate Reistadløpet’s Setermoen–Bardufoss transport, NOK 200 journeys, parking and facilities, with retained dates and different starts. These are not accepted Summit 2 Senja arrangements. Unconfirmed: 2027 Summit spectator access, parking, viewing permissions, step-free transfers, accessible toilets, adapted participation and assistance across the whole journey are not established. Ask the organiser and transport providers about individual needs.
