01 / EVENT OVERVIEW

What defines this edition.

The organiser has now published overseas guidelines for 7 February 2027, replacing the earlier pending-programme information. Starts and deadlines below use Japan time, Asia/Tokyo (UTC+09:00). Weather may change the starts, course and cut-offs. Historical: the separate detailed 2026 English guide and archive photograph do not establish the 2027 route or current conditions.

Cross-country skiing
01
Published 2027 course scope

The overseas guidelines place the races at Shirahatayama Open Stadium and the surrounding course, with two 25 km laps for the 50 km. Unconfirmed: final marked alignments, elevation, snow-dependent diversions and course access outside the event have not been independently established. A distance or lap count is not a navigation map.

02
Practice and bib collection

The organiser lists trial runs on 5 and 6 February 2027, 10:00–15:00. Conflicting sources: its race-day bib/transponder collection table gives one 07:30–09:50 window for all timed distances, although the 50 km and 25 km start earlier at 09:00 and 09:20 and late starts are prohibited. Confirm your distance-specific collection deadline and arrive before your start. Walking-ski bib collection is listed as 11:30–12:50.

03
Venue map is for arrival

The official stadium map locates the venue and surrounding roads. It is not the final 2027 race-course map, winter trail permission or a report of current snow.

FORMATThe organiser’s 2027 overseas guidelines list timed 50 km, 25 km and 10 km freestyle races and a separate untimed 5 km classical walking-ski event at Shirahatayama on 7 February. The 50 km uses two laps of the 25 km course.

Participants must be capable of completing their event independently, use cross-country skis and follow the assigned bib-number starting order. Skating is prohibited in the separate section immediately after the start; changing skis after starting and late starts are prohibited. Unconfirmed: complete age eligibility, required equipment and all current entry terms for each race have not been established here; consult the organiser and linked registration before entering.

04 / SPECTATOR ACCESS

The pin is not the gate.

The organiser names Shirahatayama Open Stadium. The venue address is 502-1 Shinei, Kiyota-ku, Sapporo. This approximate reference follows the venue’s official map link; it is not a verified 2027 start line, shuttle stop or accessible entrance.

The venue’s general access page lists Chuo Bus route Fuku 87 from Fukuzumi subway station to Shirahatayama Kyogijo Iriguchi, followed by about a 30-minute walk. Unconfirmed: a dedicated 2027 race-day shuttle, its last return and a safe winter walking approach have not been established; check current services before travel.

The venue lists about 100 parking spaces and warns that parking may fill. Unconfirmed: race-day parking permission, spectator admission and individual step-free access have not been verified; ask the organiser about the complete arrival and return.

Historical: the older English guide covers 1 and 8 February 2026, including a separate Dome walking-ski day. The new overseas guidelines instead list the 2027 walking-ski event at Shirahatayama on 7 February; no second 2027 event day is inferred.
