01 / EVENT OVERVIEW

What defines this edition.

Plan around the published Sunday 31 January date and check the final briefing before travel. Conflicting sources: Euroloppet labels 31 January 2027 as Saturday, although that calendar date is Sunday. The organiser’s rendered banner and entry header show 2027, while their descriptive text still names the 2026 edition. The linked regulations expressly cover 31 January 2026 and contain a retained 2025 distance line.

01
Published distance and venue

The series and current entry category identify 42 km skating at Planica Nordic Centre. The venue is in the Rateče valley near Kranjska Gora. Follow the final marked course and officials; the venue point and archive photograph cannot guide race navigation.

02
Lap and ascent discrepancies

Conflicting sources: the organiser’s retained English blocks describe the 42 km as four 10 km laps plus another 10 km, and elsewhere four laps plus 2 km; ascent blocks show both 720 m and 72 m. The Slovenian page gives four 10 km laps plus 2 km and 720 m. The linked 2026 rules instead describe three 12.5 km laps plus 5 km. These inconsistent formulas are not a verified 2027 alignment, ascent or difficulty assessment.

03
Final course and support

Unconfirmed: a final dated 2027 route, lap measurement, ascent, feed locations, medical stations and withdrawal transport are not established. No organiser map artwork or traced race geometry is reproduced. Obtain the final route and briefing before participation.

04
Rules edition

Historical: the linked regulations are titled for 31 January 2026 and end their cover with Kranjska Gora, 2025. Their four-hour main-race limit, 100 main-race places, personal bib collection and non-refundable payment clause belong to that document; none is presented as a confirmed 2027 term.

05
Promoter and contracting-party scope

Use the enquiry control on the organiser-linked Eventrac page for edition-specific course, age, fee and safety questions. Historical: the 2026 rules name Nordijsko društvo Rateče-Planica and SPORTHUB d.o.o., while the organiser footer names GAB d.o.o.; the current legal contracting party must be checked in the 2027 checkout terms.

FORMATThis guide covers the main 42 km skating race. The 21 km, 10 km, 5 km and children’s categories have separate starts and entry conditions; they are not included in the main-race entry.

The organiser’s Participate navigation leads to its Eventrac entry. The actual 2027 Marathon 42 km category is marked Open and lists 31 January at 09:00. Check that exact category, its final terms and the organiser’s confirmation before committing; an open entry widget does not establish a final snow or safety decision.

ON SITE

The actual linked 2027 Marathon 42 km category was marked Open at the 31 October 2026 check, with a 09:00 start. Only entry navigation was inspected; no participant details or payment were submitted. Unconfirmed: remaining capacity, final closing date and payment completion are not established.

Conflicting sources: the retained English page offers youth pricing for birth years 2008–2014, while the Slovenian page uses 2009–2017. The 2026 regulations permit the 42 km for birth year 2008 and older and calculate age at the end of 2026. The current 2027 main-category display gives no equivalent explicit age restriction. Unconfirmed: final 2027 age, licence, medical, consent and insurance eligibility must be checked for the individual; a discount is not permission to enter every distance.. At the 31 October check, the 2027 main-race widget displayed EUR 79 plus EUR 8.76 in fees, total EUR 87.76 for one entry, beside the label Upcoming price from December 1. Historical: the Slovenian 2026 page advertises a EUR 40 club entry and youth discounts; these are not accepted as 2027 offers. Unconfirmed: the applicable price tier, discounts, included services, transfers and 2027 cancellation/refund terms must be checked before payment.

04 / SPECTATOR ACCESS

The pin is not the gate.

Planica Nordic Centre gives its address as Rateče 167, 4283 Rateče–Planica. The point uses the licensed archive photograph’s recorded venue coordinate. Unconfirmed: the exact 2027 start line, bib office, parking entrance and step-free approach are not established; this is a broad venue reference, not a course or entrance survey.

For general arrival, the Nordic Centre directs drivers via the A2 towards Jesenice–West, then Kranjska Gora and Rateče. Jesenice is the nearest railway reference, with onward buses to Rateče. The centre warns there is no regular public-transport connection for the approximately 3 km from Rateče to Planica, while also mentioning a seasonal ski bus. Unconfirmed: a January 2027 service early enough for the race, equipment carriage, reservations and the return journey are not established.

The centre identifies parking at the area entrance. Unconfirmed: race parking allocation, charges, road restrictions, spectator areas and admission are not established for the marathon. The Planica.si shuttle instructions dated 18–21 March 2027 concern a different competition and must not be used for the January marathon.

The Nordic Centre lists two designated spaces by its main building, an entrance with a small threshold, elevators and ground-floor accessible restrooms. Unconfirmed: a continuous step-free route to the marathon start, race-provided toilets, assistance and adaptive race eligibility are not established. Arrange individual access with the venue and race promoter before travel; general visitor facilities do not confirm race-course access.
