01 / EVENT OVERVIEW
What defines this edition.
The Finnish homepage carries the new date. Historical: its body still calls the event the 69th edition, while the English information page explicitly covers 1 March 2026. The February/March 2026 Kangas and Reppu notices concern earlier replacement arrangements. This early guide covers the announced 2027 event without treating those older routes or timetables as its final programme.
Historical: the retained description links Niinisalo with Teivo for the main route, Hämeenkyrö with Teivo for Puoli-Pirkka and Niinisalo with Kyröskoski for Retki-Pirkka. Reppu-Hiihto has its own finish and service scope. Unconfirmed: those start/finish identities, distances and techniques are not established for 2027; they are not interchangeable products.
Historical: the organiser’s 27 February 2026 notice moved practical arrangements to Jämi Arena for Kangas-Pirkka on 28 February; the homepage also retains the later Reppu change. These are past decisions. Unconfirmed: no final 2027 alignment, snow contingency, measured distance or aid layout is verified. Do not follow old race geometry or enter a garrison, private land or a closed trail on this listing’s authority. No course artwork is reproduced.
Historical: PtG photographed Teivo racing track on 2 August 2011. This genuine summer venue image is context for the event’s traditional Tampere-area finish, not the 2027 race, course or winter conditions. Original JPEG bytes are unchanged; responsive display crops retain CC BY-SA 3.0.
The organiser announces the 70th edition for 6 March 2027. Unconfirmed: the final race menu, entry availability, eligibility and applicable terms are not verified. Check the edition shown before registering.

The pin is not the gate.
The organiser’s retained route description names Teivo as the traditional main-race finish; the venue operator locates it at Velodromintie 2 near the Tampere–Ylöjärvi boundary. The point uses OpenStreetMap venue coordinates, © OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL. Unconfirmed: the 2027 finish, start, collection point, parking and accessible entrance are not established. This is a planning reference, not a course or navigation map.
Teivo’s operator gives Velodromintie 2, 33420 Tampere, near the Tampere–Ylöjärvi boundary, approximately 10 km northwest of central Tampere. Historical: the organiser used Teivo, Niinisalo and Hämeenkyrö in different race/transport arrangements. Unconfirmed: the actual 2027 venue allocation, reserved buses, parking, collection and complete last-return journey are not verified. Do not book a transfer from the old English table or the 28 February 2026 Jämi notice.
Unconfirmed: step-free collection, viewing, accessible toilets, adapted participation and suitable transport are not established for 2027. Ask the organiser about the complete journey and assistance needed; the venue address and summer photograph do not prove event accessibility.
