01 / EVENT OVERVIEW
What defines this edition.
The organiser’s homepage and Travel Marquette agree on the two-day 2027 window. Historical: the detailed race, registration and schedule pages still describe 2026. This guide covers the announced weekend and practical planning limits; it does not carry old distances, start times, prices or cold-weather decisions into the new edition.
The organiser’s course page describes a traditional full-race start at Al Quaal in Ishpeming, a half-race start at the County Road 510 trailhead and a shorter-race start at Forestville. Historical: those descriptions include an explicit 2024 finish reference and do not establish final 2027 starts or finishes. The organiser explicitly prohibits public access to the section east of Al Quaal and west of the Dead River Basin outside an assigned race wave because it crosses private land. Do not use an old map, trail membership or this event listing as permission to ski that section.
Unconfirmed: the final 2027 alignment, measured distances, lake/creek crossings, grooming, aid locations and snow conditions are not established. Follow the current racer bulletin and signed arrangements when issued. No organiser map artwork or race geometry is reproduced; the location pin marks a host planning reference only.
Historical: Steven Fine photographed Marquette from Mount Marquette on 6 July 2012. This genuine summer panorama is host-city context, not the 2027 race, a course inspection or evidence of winter conditions. The CC BY-SA 4.0 original bytes are unchanged; responsive display crops retain the same licence.
The organiser announces the 2027 weekend. Unconfirmed: current registration availability, race choices, eligibility and payable terms are not established; the linked entry page still closes the 2026 edition. Confirm the actual 2027 product before entering.
02 / PUBLISHED PROGRAMME
The published timetable.
Friday, January 22, 2027
First day of the announced weekend
Unconfirmed: no edition-specific Friday programme or check-in window has been verified. Historical: the 2026 schedule placed junior/adaptive skiing at Al Quaal and evening collection at the Superior Dome, but the later January 2026 safety decision cancelled the junior/adaptive races. Neither the old programme nor that cancellation determines 2027.Saturday, January 23, 2027
Second day of the announced weekend
Unconfirmed: the final Saturday race distances, techniques, wave starts, cut-offs and awards schedule are not verified for 2027. Historical: the detailed full-race page calls its 2026 distance approximately 50 km, while the older course page labels its full-route link approximately 48 km. Neither label establishes the new course.03 / TICKETS & BROADCAST
Attend with the live instructions.
2027 entry terms unconfirmed · official information page
Athlete registration; spectator admission and ordinary NTN trail access are separate. Historical: the organiser’s registration page says 2026 registration is closed and displays old USD tiers, youth discounts and free junior/adaptive entries. Its general page names RunSignup, but the checked current home/registration links do not establish a payable 2027 product; an indexed 2026 RunSignup destination returned 404. Unconfirmed: 2027 prices, capacity, opening/deadline, eligibility, waiver and refund/transfer terms remain unverified. The older rules make fees nonrefundable even after shortening or cancellation; check the actual new terms before paying. No free-entry or price offer is asserted.
Official entry information · check for the 2027 editionTerritory matters
Unconfirmed: no 2027 live broadcast, stream or territorial rights have been verified. The organiser’s existing videos and results links concern earlier editions.
Unconfirmed: no U.S. live broadcaster or streaming package is verified for this weekend.
Official broadcast hub04 / SPECTATOR ACCESS
The pin is not the gate.
The point is derived from Northern Michigan University’s public Superior Dome building footprint, east of Presque Isle Avenue. Historical: the organiser used the Dome for 2026 check-in and event services. Unconfirmed: its exact 2027 role, the race starts and finishes, parking and accessible entrance are not established. This is not a course map or a navigation instruction.
Historical: the 2026 instructions used the Superior Dome for bib collection and buses, made the County Road 510 start bus-only and limited the longer-race buses to participants. They allowed spectator transport to Forestville and prohibited parking on Forestville Road to preserve emergency access. Unconfirmed: the 2027 boarding points, reservations, accessible vehicles, parking allocation and complete outward/last-return schedule are not verified. Arrange the whole return journey before travelling and follow current traffic controls.
Northern Michigan University locates the Superior Dome east of Presque Isle Avenue, with its main entrance east of Lot 52. Unconfirmed: race-weekend access, step-free collection and viewing, adapted participation, assistance and accessible toilets are not verified for 2027. Ask the organiser about the complete journey needed; a building map or photograph does not establish event accessibility.
Historical: the retained adaptive page names advance coordination for accommodations, while both adaptive and junior pages explicitly record cancellation for cold in 2026. Unconfirmed: these programmes’ 2027 availability, ages, equipment and registration arrangements are not established. Do not interpret the old cancellation as cancellation of the announced 2027 weekend.
