01 / EVENT OVERVIEW

What defines this edition.

The point-to-point format needs two separate arrival plans: one for the start in Oxberg and one for the finish in Hemus. The organiser offers competitive and recreational entry, distinct elite-women and general starts, and a separately booked bus from Mora to the start. The current invitation and actual RaceID distance and bus panels establish useful 2027 planning information; later operational details remain subject to the final briefing.

Cross-country skiing
01
Classic point-to-point course

The invitation gives 42 km in classic technique within the Vasaloppsarenan between Oxberg and Mora. Refreshments of sports drink and water are listed at Vasslan, Oxberg, Hökberg and Eldris, with juice and a bun at the finish. Unconfirmed: final course alignment, aid-station order and kilometre positions, dietary provision and availability; no organiser route artwork or navigation track is reproduced.

02
Start groups and timing

The start pens open at 09:30 in Oxberg. Start group 0 elite women start at 11:00; the other starters start at 11:10. The race management selects the elite group. The invitation describes groups 1–5 or higher by Vasaloppet start-group history and says chip timing begins when a skier crosses the start line. Unconfirmed: your allocated pen, bib collection hours and how the elite start and individual timing are applied; follow the final organiser briefing.

03
No post-race bus back to Oxberg

Book the Mora ski stadium–Oxberg bus with registration by 13 January 2027 at 23:59; the published bus charge is SEK 175. The organiser explicitly says there is no bus back to the start after the race. Leave your own labelled clothing bag on the start-area truck for transfer to the finish at Mora ski stadium. Unconfirmed: bus departure and boarding time, accessible vehicles, luggage limits, recovery transport after withdrawal and your complete onward journey. Arrange these before travelling; parking at Hemus does not solve a car left in Oxberg.

04
Cutoffs and safe withdrawal

Unconfirmed: final 2027 medical deployment, on-course emergency contact, compulsory equipment, intermediate and finish cutoffs, withdrawal procedure, rescue coverage and individual accessibility are not established in the inspected invitation or registration panels. Ask the organiser and read its final briefing before starting; a 42 km entry is not an assessment of fitness or a rescue guarantee.

FORMAT42 km classic cross-country race with competitive and recreational classes
