01 / EVENT OVERVIEW
What defines this edition.
Plan the Sunday main race with current entry information, bib collection, early shuttle planning, classic-technique rules and advertised services. All times are local: Europe/Berlin, CET, UTC+01:00. Historical: Graswang near Ettal on 15 January 2017, photographed by thomas henke (weinraum), CC0. This archive valley landscape does not show the race, its verified 2027 course or current snow. Original pixels preserved; responsive display crops.
The organiser describes Ettal–Oberammergau and advertises 42 km with 425 m elevation gain. Its main-race feed references are Dickelschwaig at 9/32 km, Rahm at 16/39 km and Ettaler Mühle at 21 km, plus warm food and drinks at the finish. These are attributed planning figures. Unconfirmed: final 2027 course geometry, exact measured ascent and final feed layout are not verified. GPX links marked Version 1 and an external interactive map are offered by the organiser but have not been accepted here as the final race course; no artwork or track is reproduced.
The August 2026 race rules prohibit skating in classic races, require the marked course to be completed on skis except designated exceptions, and prohibit unauthorised shortcuts or distance changes. Use the organiser’s assigned start block; a preferred block is not guaranteed. Equipment must be safe and meet applicable FIS rules. A complete ski change is generally prohibited; the rules allow replacement of one damaged ski under the applicable competition provisions. Officials may check technique, pole length and equipment.
The current rules allow checkpoint deadlines and a course/finish closure, with removal from the official race and loss of timing/services after closure. Unconfirmed: exact 2027 passing times, finish cutoff, preparation closures, final block procedure and chip-return requirements are not published in the inspected current pages. Obtain them before starting. If withdrawing, report to an official; follow the sweep and medical decisions rather than continuing as an unaccounted racer.
Entry is through the official 2027 race selector, subject to payment and the organiser’s age, category and parental-consent requirements. Check the detailed eligibility note before registering a minor.
02 / PUBLISHED PROGRAMME
The published timetable.
Wednesday, February 3, 2027
Published online-entry deadline
The main-race page says online entry remains open through 3 February 2027. Unconfirmed: a precise closing hour and remaining capacity are not established; complete the official process and payment within the deadline shown there.Friday, February 5, 2027
Friday bib collection and conditional late entry
Ammergauer Haus, Eugen-Papst-Str. 9a, Oberammergau. The same window is published for Saturday 6 February. Late entries depend on remaining bibs; the page advertises no race-morning late entry.Saturday, February 6, 2027
Saturday bib collection
Use the Ammergauer Haus window to collect before Sunday where possible. Saturday’s skating programme is a separate race scope.Sunday, February 7, 2027
Published Oberammergau–Ettal shuttle opening
The main-race page advertises free buses from Oberammergau to Ettal starting at 06:30. Conflicting sources: its last-bus time of 10:30 is later than the main 42 km start at 09:00. It cannot be used as a main-race arrival deadline. Arrange an early departure; later shorter-race starts do not change your start time.Sunday, February 7, 2027
Race-morning bib desk at Ettal
Conflicting sources: the race page lists the Ettal bib desk 07:00–11:00 and the main 42 km start at 09:00. Do not infer permission to collect or start after 09:00. Obtain the final main-race collection and block-entry deadlines.Sunday, February 7, 2027
Main 42 km classic start in Ettal
The race body, summary and winter overview agree on this start. Only officially numbered entrants may enter the start area; follow the assigned block and officials. The start reference is the junction towards Schloss Linderhof, not the map point in this guide.Sunday, February 7, 2027
Published main-race awards at the finish
The main-race page lists awards at Sportzentrum Oberammergau around 11:30, with top-three women/men overall and age-class prizes sent afterwards. This ceremony time is not the finish cutoff.03 / TICKETS & BROADCAST
Attend with the live instructions.
The public 2027 entry selector is accessible and lists the main 42 km classic race. Unconfirmed: remaining places, individual category acceptance and the final payable total have not been verified.
The August 2026 rules require valid registration, full payment and the published age/sporting conditions; minors need parental registration or express consent. The public 2027 selector currently labels the 42 km classic race “minimum age 14”, while it labels 21 km classic 16 and the separate 42 km medical championship 18. Unconfirmed: exact birth-year calculation and your eligibility for the main 42 km race are not established by the generic age-class table; obtain the organiser’s category decision before registering a minor. Do not substitute an older event’s birth-year cutoff. Choose “42 KM Klassisch, 07.02.2027” for this guide’s scope. A pre-existing Mein-KLL account is not required. The organiser advertises timing, race bib, medal, feeds, medical/rescue service, shuttle and clothing transport, basic waxing, pole service, showers and guarded ski storage. Clothing bags can be bought separately; an included transport service does not imply a free bag.. Checked 30 October 2026: the public main-race selector shows EUR 95. The race page lists EUR 95 through 31 October 2026, EUR 100 through 31 December, EUR 110 from 1 January 2027 and EUR 10 extra for on-site late entry. Its EUR 90 tier through June has expired. A 20% combination discount is advertised for eligible multi-race entry. Unconfirmed: extras, discount eligibility, transaction charges and final checkout total require your actual selection; no unconditional ticket Offer is asserted.

Official broadcast hub04 / SPECTATOR ACCESS
The pin is not the gate.
The map point uses the photograph’s recorded Graswang viewpoint, between the host communities. It is not the race start, finish, parking area, shuttle stop or accessible entrance. The organiser gives the start as the junction towards Schloss Linderhof in Ettal and the finish as Sportzentrum Oberammergau, Turnerweg 10. Use final participant instructions for the actual approach.
The organiser’s general rail approach is via Murnau and the Ammertalbahn to Oberammergau, or via Garmisch-Partenkirchen/Oberau and regional buses from Innsbruck. Road guidance uses the A95/Oberau/Ettal approach or B23. Unconfirmed: race-day public connections, exact shuttle stops/frequency, parking capacity, traffic restrictions and the last return bus are not established by these general directions. Check a dated itinerary and return plan before travelling.
Clothing bags are handed in at the start and transported to the finish; the race page advertises free showers there, warm food/drinks and guarded ski storage. Unconfirmed: bag size/identification rules, exact service hours, shower/changing layout, rental availability and lost-property procedure are not established. The organisers’ accommodation links do not guarantee a room.
Unconfirmed: step-free access at the bib desk/start/finish, accessible toilets, suitable shuttle boarding, adaptive-racing eligibility and individual assistance are not established by the inspected pages. Arrange the whole journey with the organiser before relying on access. General medical support is not an accessibility assurance.
Unconfirmed: authorised spectator viewing points, whether spectators may use participant transport, and final crowd/road controls remain to be confirmed. Keep clear of the race track and start blocks; use only permitted public viewing areas.
