COMPETITOR FIELDWomen are listed in the 2027 main-race registration categories. Conflicting sources: the free-technique page says birth year 2009 or earlier, while the actual portal and 8 October 2026 rules support the calendar year of turning 16, or 2011 or earlier for 2027. Historical: the guide retains 2024/2025 seeding references. Confirm eligibility and seeding with the organiser; no personal start lists were inspected. / Men are listed in the same 2027 main-race formats. The assigned start block must be respected. Unconfirmed: final accepted field, current block capacity and individual qualification. Mini-Gommer has separate categories and unresolved displayed age-band/start details.

01 / EVENT OVERVIEW

What defines this edition.

The current German programme and the actual 2027 registration portal agree on the weekend and principal distances. The classic and free-technique half marathons are separate Saturday races; Sunday’s marathon repeats the 21 km circuit twice. All times below are venue-local Europe/Zurich, CET (UTC+01:00). This is an organised endurance competition; a published date does not establish present trail opening.

01
Distances and final alignment

The 8 October 2026 rules and 2027 portal support 21/42 km competition distances; the marathon page describes two laps of the half-marathon circuit. Unconfirmed: the final surveyed 2027 alignment, exact station positions and any weather alternative. No organiser map artwork or route line is copied or embedded; use the official final instructions.

Historical host-area photograph

Historical: Markus Bernet photographed Ulrichen from the Goms cross-country trail on 29 December 2019. The view is genuine host-area context and does not establish the 2027 start, route, attendance or snow conditions. Original bytes and CC BY-SA 4.0 attribution are retained.

FORMAT21 km classic and free technique · 42 km ski marathon · Mini-Gommer

The rules dated 8 October 2026 admit women and men from the calendar year of turning 16; the actual 2027 registration portal lists birth year 2011 or earlier for the main races. Mini-Gommer is separately listed for birth years 2011–2022. Confirm the exact category and assigned block before booking; the free-technique page still shows a different birth-year threshold.

Advance bib collection

The explicitly dated 2027 programme lists Hangar U69 at Nordisches Zentrum. Historical: the race-guide accordion still shows 20–22 February collection dates from 2026. Use the 2027 programme and recheck your required collection deadline.

Gommer Klassiker · classic 21 km

The 2027 programme lists a mass start. Bib collection is listed 07:30–15:00; this general office window is not permission to collect after your race starts. Conflicting sources: the current rules close each half marathon three hours after its start, while the mixed-edition race guide gives a general Saturday finish close of 14:00. Confirm the binding cutoff for your race and block.

Gommerlauf · free-technique 21 km

The race page and guide list E/A, B and C starts at three-minute intervals. The dated programme gives the first start at 11:00. Recheck your allocated block and its exact final cutoff; do not treat the general office or hospitality hours as race access.

International Gommer Skimarathon · 42 km

The marathon page lists E/A, B and C blocks; the 2027 programme gives 09:30 as the first start. The current rules set an 11:45 half-distance gate at Ulrichen and a 14:30 finish close, subject to jury changes. The marathon page allows skating or classic technique; its rules describe the race as free technique.

Mini-Gommer · separate youth starts

The current Mini page lists 1/2/4/6 km by category. Conflicting sources: it puts both U16 starts at 13:30, while the race guide puts the girls at 13:35. Unconfirmed: the definitive 2027 category-year allocation and each child’s applicable start; the portal’s broad 2011–2022 eligibility does not resolve every category. Confirm category, distance and start directly; no individual placement is inferred.

ON SITE

The actual public Datasport 2027 category page is available; checkout, remaining places and payment were not exercised.

Separate 21 km and 42 km entries, 63 km weekend combinations and Mini-Gommer. The spectator train is a separate purchase.. At the 4 November source check, race pages and the rules dated 8 October 2026 list CHF 70 for each half marathon and CHF 80 for the marathon through 31 January, rising to CHF 100/110 from 1 February. Weekend combinations are CHF 125 then CHF 160; current race pages list CHF 175 on site. The rules list Mini-Gommer at CHF 15 and exclude transaction costs. Conflicting sources: the rules close online entry on Thursday before race weekend, but race pages show later Friday/Saturday fee deadlines; some race-page buttons still target 2026. Use the actual 2027 portal and verify the binding deadline and total before payment. The rules distinguish voluntary withdrawal credits from event cancellation: the stated 80% refund applies to the CHF 20 entry component, with the remaining service component refundable only to the extent unspent. Unconfirmed: live capacity, final payable total and any amended terms; no live ticket Offer is asserted.

04 / SPECTATOR ACCESS

The pin is not the gate.

The rounded point follows the organiser-linked situation map centred on the Nordisches Zentrum Goms area near Geschinen and Ulrichen. It is a planning reference, not a surveyed start pen, entrance, parking bay, race route or accessible drop-off. Follow the final signed approach.

The destination describes year-round rail access via the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn and the Furka car shuttle; Grimsel, Furka and Nufenen road passes are described as summer approaches when open. Do not plan a February drive across an unverified pass. Check your actual winter connection and road conditions.

The race guide says participants travel on the MGBahn network on race day with their Datasport confirmation. Historical: the same guide retains 2026 collection and course-release dates; its 07:00–12:00 station shuttle and approximate ten-minute walk are not a verified complete 2027 return. Unconfirmed: final shuttle operating days, accessible vehicles, luggage arrangements and the last connection after finishing. Arrange both directions before travel.

The 2027 spectator-train page lists Brig departure 08:10 and Ulrichen arrival 09:11 on 28 February, with separate adult/child fares and a promotional early-booking discount. Unconfirmed: the discount deadline, capacity, final intermediate race-following timetable and complete return to Brig. This is a spectator product, not a participant return guarantee.

The guide describes parking on the Ulrichen airfield, signed approach and accessible parking near the Nordic centre; camping there is prohibited. Unconfirmed: final 2027 parking allocation, toilets, step-free transfers, assistance arrangements and viewing access. Agree individual needs directly rather than inferring them from a parking symbol.
