01 / EVENT OVERVIEW
What defines this edition.
An early planning guide to the main race, separating the dated 2027 programme and entry offer from retained route information and the explicitly older bus timetable. All times are local to Iceland: Atlantic/Reykjavik, UTC+00:00.
The organiser describes a 50 km loop with about 1,250 m total climbing, starting near 290 m and reaching 614 m at Fellsháls. These are published planning figures, not a surveyed 2027 track. Its route climbs steeply and includes fast descents; follow the actual marked course and officials.
The 50 km page gives 10:00 near 10 km and 14:00 near 35 km, based on an 08:00–08:30 start. The rules instead give 10:30 and 14:30 for an 08:00–09:00 start. Do not assume the later times are valid. Obtain the final briefing and plan conservatively; officials stop and transport skiers who miss the applicable limit.
The organiser’s linked interactive route returned an unavailable page when checked. The retained profile and description do not establish a final 2027 map. The road to the intermediate Heiðin station is reserved for staff and emergency access, rather than public spectator traffic.
The published rules require 50 km entrants to turn at least 16 during the event year. This is a demanding mountain endurance course with steep climbs and fast descents; a floating start does not make it a beginner route. Check the final race briefing, equipment rules and your ability before entering.

Official broadcast hub04 / SPECTATOR ACCESS
The pin is not the gate.
Approximate start/finish reference from Worldloppet’s coordinates. The 2027 bib office is in Edinborgarhúsið in town, rather than at this pin. This location marker is not a final course map or permission to drive to the start.
Collect bibs in town at Aðalstræti 7. The start and finish are up at Seljalandsdalur. The organiser describes limited mountain parking and race buses, but its bus page explicitly covers 2026 and says 2027 details will follow. Do not reuse the old departures or Saturday road-opening time as a 2027 timetable.
Confirm travel to Ísafjörður, mountain transfers, weather and road conditions before booking. No edition-specific 2027 carrier timetable or accessible race-day arrival plan has been verified. Ask the organiser about individual transfer, parking, toilets and viewing access; the map pin does not prove step-free access.
Bags left at the start are stored outdoors: use weather-resistant storage and the organiser’s number label. Spectators must remain clear of the course and staff-only roads. Follow actual closures and instructions.
