01 / EVENT OVERVIEW

What defines this edition.

The organiser’s 21 May 2026 announcement and current homepage establish the main 2027 date. Its authenticated Facebook page repeats that date in a 1 November 2026 post. Actual EQ Timing products now identify the 2027 edition, but the practical page mixes an explicit 2026 briefing with undated rules and older transport details. This guide keeps those distinctions visible instead of assigning last year’s timetable to the new race.

Cross-country skiing
01
Point-to-point border-region planning

Historical: the practical page describes a classic 44 km race from Sandvika in Nordli to Frostviksskolan in Gäddede, with shorter 12/17 km starts at Kveeidet. Its participant briefing is explicitly headed 22 March 2026, while its bus heading says Saturday 21 March. These past-edition timings and route details are not a confirmed 2027 operational plan.

02
Separate travel and identification requirements

The advertised event connects Norway and Sweden, so the start and finish require separate travel plans. Unconfirmed: the final 2027 border-crossing arrangements, nationality-specific travel-document or entry requirements and any race-specific identification check. Check the responsible border authorities and organiser for your own circumstances; an event entry is not a travel document or permission to cross the border.

03
Outward transfer and complete return

Historical: the practical page describes buses from Saga, Sagavägen 5 in Gäddede to the Norwegian starts, baggage transfer to the finish and return buses from Gäddede to Kveeidet and Sandvika between 13:30 and 16:00. Unconfirmed: the 2027 outward and final return departures, capacity, booking, baggage rules, withdrawal recovery and accessible vehicles. Arrange the whole journey back to your actual car or accommodation; no old departure is presented as a 2027 service.

04
Technique, bib and licence checks

The currently linked practical page says the race uses classic technique and Norwegian Ski Federation rules, prohibits using another skier’s bib and permits identification checks. It says ski licences for ages 13–69 are separate from entry. Unconfirmed: the exact applicable 2027 rules, birth-year classes, foreign licence recognition, insurance scope and final compulsory equipment; the mixed-edition page is not treated as a complete current rulebook.

05
Cutoffs, medical cover and withdrawal

Historical: the 2026 participant briefing describes Red Cross personnel with radios and snowmobiles, a sweep patrol and a race doctor contacted through Red Cross. It asks withdrawing skiers to notify a medical post, refreshment station or secretariat. Unconfirmed: the final 2027 medical deployment, on-course emergency number, intermediate and finish cutoffs, evacuation arrangements and assistance coverage. Read the final briefing and confirm these before starting.

FORMATClassic cross-country event with competitive, recreational and untimed registration products

The organiser-linked 2027 registration lists competitive 44 km and 17 km, recreational 44 km and 17 km, and untimed 12/17 km products. Unconfirmed: exact 2027 age and birth-year classes, eligibility, licences and whether an individual entrant may select a particular product. Do not infer eligibility from a displayed entry price.
