01 / EVENT OVERVIEW
What defines this edition.
The organiser confirms Saturday classic and Sunday freestyle racing. All times are Finnish local time, Europe/Helsinki (UTC+02:00). Its current guide is a preliminary version updated on 2 April 2026. Several start times conflict across official sources; confirm the final instructions before planning arrival.
The inspected preliminary guide shows routes from Lahti through the Hollola area, with 20 km, 32 km and 62 km options. Its organiser-linked Google map contains course lines, service points, start/finish facilities, spectator paths, parking and a military-zone warning. These are planning references; the final 2027 alignment, snow conditions and public access are not established by the map.
The guide currently lists Hälvälä closing at 12:30, Messilä and Orinkarkaus at 13:30, Papinkaivo at 14:30, Heinsuo at 16:00, Tapanila at 17:00 and the finish at 17:30. Relevant stations depend on distance. These provisional limits need rechecking with the final route and start groups. Skiers missing a limit must stop and follow staff instructions.
Registration is available through the organiser. Confirm personal eligibility, the chosen distance and starting group; no final 2027 field has been verified.

The pin is not the gate.
The event starts at Lahti ski stadium below the jumping hills. This pin is not a start gate, parking space or accessible entrance. The preliminary guide locates the race office at Lahti Fair Centre, Salpausselänkatu 7; the permanent organiser office is separately at number 8.
The programme gives later 62 km waves as 09:10, 09:20 and 09:30, while the participant table uses 10:30 and 10:40. Shorter races variously appear as 10:45, 11:15, 11:45 or 12:00, with additional AM/PM errors in the Sunday programme. Do not choose a time from these conflicting listings; obtain the final assigned start from the organiser.
The preliminary race office opens Friday 10:00–19:00 and both race days 07:30–18:30. Take the confirmation letter or identity document for bib collection. Follow marked walking routes and spectator areas; individual step-free access, viewing and drop-off arrangements have not been verified.
The guide recommends public transport and lists limited first-come free parking plus paid alternatives. Its drop-off reference is the ISKU Arena parking area. Train, regional-bus and local-bus services require current timetable checks; no special 2027 shuttle has been verified.
The fee includes organiser-listed service-station refreshments, first aid, withdrawal transport, storage, a post-race meal and sauna, and basic group insurance. Confirm insurance coverage separately. Optional rentals and advance waxing are paid services.
For organiser cancellation beyond its control, the published terms allow it to retain half the fee; the other half is described as a refund or next-edition credit. Shortening the course gives no reimbursement. Personal cancellation and illness have separate conditional provisions, with unclear refund-versus-credit wording for illness; confirm these directly before purchase.
