01 / EVENT OVERVIEW

What defines this edition.

This guide covers the main Sunday marathon. The 21 km half marathon shares its Maloja start but finishes in Pontresina; the women’s race, night race and 8–10 March individual event have separate formats and rules. Times below are local to Switzerland, Europe/Zurich (UTC+01:00 on race day).

Cross-country skiing
FORMAT42 km from Maloja to S-chanf in free technique. Classic tracks are prepared where conditions permit; skating in those tracks is prohibited. Assigned starting waves begin at 08:15 local time.

Women and men born in 2010 or earlier may enter the main marathon, subject to capacity, accepted registration and the organiser’s full eligibility rules. Starting-wave allocation depends on previous results or a declared expected time; entry does not guarantee a preferred wave.

04 / SPECTATOR ACCESS

The pin is not the gate.

The pin is a broad planning reference near the Maloja starting area, based on the official start map and Swiss federal address data. It is not a surveyed entrance, parking space or vehicle drop-off. The finish is in S-chanf; use the organiser’s current access instructions.

The organiser recommends public transport. The participant fee includes one second-class journey into and out of the Graubünden public-transport network under specified conditions: arrival 6–14 March and return by 16 March 2027. Landquart–Chur is covered only on Rhätische Bahn trains; this is not an unrestricted Swiss travel pass.

The personalised travel ticket is due with the race-number voucher in late February. The race number covers the specified race-Sunday regional transfers. Spectators should arrange their own valid transport; do not assume participant benefits apply to them.

No general race-day parking is available in Maloja or Sils. The organiser lists designated parking elsewhere, including St. Moritz Islas, and road restrictions. Its current access page gives differing shuttle end times, so confirm the final special timetable when it is published in early 2027.

Official spectator locations include Maloja, Sils, St. Moritz, Pontresina and S-chanf. Keep the course clear and use designated access. A complete step-free spectator route and individual assistance arrangements have not been verified; contact the organiser before travel.

The currently linked start-area and course maps have 2026 filenames. They show the general route, starting waves and services, rather than confirmed 2027 entrances, ice conditions or parking capacity. The photograph is likewise from the 2026 race.
